  1. Tea time! Hi Gary, Hope you're safe and well. Thanks for your interest in us. We'll release some big titles in the year below. - The Little Drummer Girl (Steelbook) - A Monster Calls (Steelbook) - World War Z (Steelbook) - DRIVE (4K UHD Steelbook) 😱😍🤩 - Portrait of a Lady on Fire (Steelbook) And about A24 films. We're releasing KILLING DEER and Florida Project in the year. (but they're not Steelbook) DRIVE 4K STEELBOOK FROM PLAIN ARCHIVE!!!!! Will this be the best Drive Steelbook created? My crystal ball says yes. Also Killing of a Sacred Deer and Florida Project as amaray slips. Great news considering Portrait of a Lady on Fire was a slip before becoming a steelbook, so fingers crossed if they sell they'll be able to get more A24 including their horror catalogue and create the most finessed beautiful steels for them!
  2. Got an email back from them a couple weeks back and got some juicy tea from them regarding future releases and what they may be - one is sure to make some heads spin... Shall I spill it?
  3. Got my fingers crossed for the last chance! If no luck then no hard feelings - still congratulations to all who remained or got the chance to join, hopefully you'll have a peace of mind in collecting the steels you want as reward! Have to remind myself that it's through this site anyway that I've acquired quite a lot of steels that were long gone either through John, the marketplace and the myriad of groupbuys I've been in; and regardless of the amount of activity that I personally participate in, I enjoy reading a lot of the posts here and the organisation of the groupbuys have benefitted throughout the two years I've been here regardless, so if not this time then hopefully next!
  4. In this instance I hereby do declare that we form our own sub-group here in MediaPsychos, whereby each member is permitted to give their opinion up to three times a month, but we understand if you'd rather not also. Everybody who'd like to join please say nothing and continue your silent participation!
  5. I understand this; but at the moment especially amongst Mantalab it's very very difficult to get anything as a regular members. Also with activity on the site, I'm fairly active - I do more reading than posting. I'm on here like I am in real life, unless I have something to say I won't tend to post something just for the sake of it. It's not a judgement on those who do - but I won't speak unless I tend to really enjoy a particular steelbook or to speculate on releases such as from Plain Archive. So although my post count isn't high, I feel like this sort of application is unfair to those who engage via reading and not actively posting enough. I understand it's hard to gauge how much someone intereacts via postcount etc. But I'll never really be the person who posts so much so frequently - I read a lot of other's and engage when I have something to say. Not saying these in bitter words, just as my two cents in terms of how you gauge someone is active - as I feel currently it promotes mostly those who are outspoken, which of course, obviously constitutes activity. Hopefully you understand what I mean. But congratulations to those who did get in regardless!
  6. Ah okay, so I don't have a possibility this cycle, that chance has sailed?
  7. But in all seriousness I don't know if you're joking :') Regular members will only be able to partake if pre-selected? I don't need to request or signup or keep refreshing or cast a spell or sell my soul? 😆
  8. Ahhh, there's so many notifications I don't have time to go through them all, I'm very greatly confused what's happening I know 20 poeple got invites for platinum and it was opened up for platinums to remain. But beyond that I don't know what to do - do I state here I'd like a gold tier, do I wait for a notification, is there a thread popping up? Sorry, I've tried going through so many pages and really can't see what's the best way to go about it!
  9. Cheers Swish! Looking forward to it! Edit: Followed the link on the previous page to the previous years' sold out tiers; didn't see the date on it and thought it was this years. Not going to lie - I skipped most of the pages of the 200+ comments :')
  10. Congrats to those handpicked! For those of us not have we missed our chances?
  11. This is my conundrum. For instance with ZSJL where only 61 or so OC allocations were put in place - the majority of them allocated were tiers. With more people wanting to become tiered and less allocations the system of first come first serve will tide over into the tiered systems surely, so paying for the tier won't even guarantee a spot anymore if more and more allocations are being reduced, unless of course tier positions are limited. I guess, also, that being tiered does increase better chances regardless of fewer allocations and more tiered members, still better than duking it out with the hundreds or muggles like myself.
  12. Really appreciate the solid info there Basil, great information and exactly what I was looking for. It's my understanding you can't just opt for Platinum when it's time to buy, you have to be gold first and then go for platinum? The whole situation with Manta is really making me want to join as I've missed out on extremely expensive items when gone to Ebay (Blade Runner, presumably ZSJL if I miss out on their site). My only concern again, aside from supporting the great work John and you guys do, is the influx of new members joining tiers and the decrease of the amount of items allocated to us as a site. It's seemingly already getting to that fine line of too many people being tiered with little allocated stock to fulfill even this, so it's getting to a point where as a benefit of getting a priority listing it's just the same as if regular members only existed and all has equal access to the list, in which case your only saving grace is being the first to put a request in. Hm, stuff to think about, agian really appreciate the info there Basil and the working at MP's! Don't want to come across as just wanting to take take take!
  13. Hi, is there any info stating what the memberships exactly are - such as cost of membership etc. I keep missing out on groupbuys because I'm not tiered. The thread stickied doesn't specify what the costs are or what's provided. Also I fear that with groupbuys it will get to a stage where so many members will be gold or platinum that even then with limited allocations from places like Mantalab you still won't be allocated a spot regardless of tier. Is this a far away concern? Most of the ZSJL Manta OC went to tiered memberships, I think there were only 61 allocations. After new applications surely these will push all regular members out and most people upgrading to platinum pushing a lot of gold out. Any help explanation would be cool. Tried perusing just before work so I may have missed the info I'm looking for. Appreciate the help.
  14. Well when you collect all three boxes together, and then you have an apple, and then you get a pen... HHHHHWAH!
  15. Aaaaand Manta Lab have just solidified themselves as second best premium retailer. They're beauitful!
  16. Nice to see the love for them, I rarely see anything about them but I'm always checking their site in the hopes of something new. I'd love if they did more steelbooks, as I don't really collect amaray cases, their Macbeth slipcase is stunning so I combined a studiocanal steelbook with that release. If they could make more.im sure they'd quickly rise up to be a flagship in premiums. Their title selection is incredible, can't wait for a Florida project or portrait of a lady on fire. Definitely so send them best wishes. Hope they have a speedy journey to being fully back on track, definitely wish for this in the new year along with more steel book output.
  17. Apologies if this shouldn't be posted here, had a look and really wasn't sure where to post. I consider Plain Archive to be the best of all the premium steelbook retailers, they always have the nicest packaging and use of artwork/photography with great additional type/graphic design, they just feel the most prestigious, not to mention the Korean films they make also. So I'm just wondering if anyone has any insider information why they rarely produce anything? I'm wondering how they can be a company making money with very little releases, I'd love for them to make more, I'd ideally love for them to get into producing A24 horrors, the steels would be beautiful. Happy for this to be moved to an appropriate section if it's not meant to be here, but even more happy if anyone has any info.
  18. Completely forgot that this released, I'm sure the UK hub will get shipping info soon. Also I just realised I completely missed the pre-sale thread for 2046 and the release on their website... Damnit :')
  19. I am today years' old for learning that this makes an impact on calculating time zones...
  20. So it said it was up for order at 8PM HKT, which is 12pm UK time - I was at work constantly refreshing the site on my phone between 11:55AM-12:05pm, and it was lsited as coming soon
  21. I tried to order direct but the time it was supposed to go up it didn't than almost an hour later it was sold out. Was it delayed in being listed? I was a bit annyoyed because I took my break at 12pm UK being HKT 8pm but if didn't list for 10 minutes I checked.
