Oh, man, I'd love to see this in the theatre, but I don't think it will be showing here.

 

Apparently, this director's cut will feature 40 minutes of unseen footage (Stallone's original cut of Rocky IV was 120 minutes, but the studio forced him to heavily re-cut it).

I’m glad he is now getting the chance to show his original vision. I understand why studios interfere with projects, but I also think it’s important that the original version gets to see the light of day. Especially when the movie is a success. If it’s a win let the director return & show us the original version. As long as there isn’t any shenanigans like with George Lucas & Star Wars let the director ideas live.

My best friend (who is also a film fan) loves Rocky V. I’m not particularly a fan but any time I’m doing a Rocky marathon I never skip over it. It’s probably one of the few films I don’t care for in a franchise that I watch anyways. I wasn’t aware of an original version I’m with you in hoping that it can also have a release.
