A Brief History of BrikHaus

Hey everyone,

 

I recently joined the forum, and wanted to introduce myself properly. I'm new to collecting steelbooks, but not new to physical media. I've been acquiring anime box sets and imports for well over a decade. Those tend to be produced in limited-run prints, and can be rare and expensive on the second-hand market. So, going to steelbooks is pretty much the same thing!

 

I learned about these deluxe editions from getting the first and second seasons of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex from Kimchidvd a couple of years ago. They weren't steelbooks, but they were lenticular. From then on, I kind of avoided them until last month when I picked up the HDZETA release of Blade Runner 2049. It's an absolute beauty, and now I've got to collect more deluxe steelbook packages for some of my other favorite films.

 

I sort of wish I hadn't discovered this hobby, because I'm not rich enough to afford it. Oh well, lol.

My best advice, for what it is worth, make sure you only join a GB that you know for sure you want that exclusive... 

 

... and hold onto your wallet tightly 🤑

 

Also if you plan on joining several GBs, set up a spread-sheet, it has helped me tremendously!! 😊
