There's also a new 22-disc set (Blu-ray only) that surveys Wim Wenders' entire career issued by Curzon. It includes three posters and 5 Polaroid photographs from Wenders' personal collection. The box housing the set is about the same size as the recent Shawscope editions from Arrow Academy. (NOTE: this larger set only contains the standard Blu-ray disc of WINGS OF DESIRE, but I included the 4K steelbook of it for size reference).

Here's a new limited edition 4K steelbook of Wim Wenders' 1987 film, DER HIMMEL ÜBER BERLIN (aka WINGS OF DESIRE) from Curzon in the UK. It includes just a 4K disc, no inserts or other printed materials (other than the J-card shown).

Welcome to the group, @Film Noir Lover! What a great username--Film Noir (and proto-Noir & neo-Noir) is my favorite type/genre of film. I'm always looking for gems and diamonds in the rough I've not seen. I compiled a list of my favorites recently for a member and I'd love to have someone add their favorites. The ones with an asterisk (*) in front of them are super-favorites (though all are great). Undoubtedly I’ve forgotten some titles, but this is a good start: *5 Steps to Danger (1957) *711 Ocean Drive (1950) *99 River Street (1953) The Amazing Mr. X (aka The Spiritualist) (1948) *The Asphalt Jungle (1950) *The Big Heat (1953) *The Breaking Point (1950) The Brothers Rico (1958) *Brute Force (1947) Call Northside 777 (1948) *Champion (1949) *Crime Wave (1954) *Criss Cross (1949) Crossfire (1947) *Cry of the City (1948) *D.O.A. YOLT? (Lol, in keeping with the title of the movie itself, I might as well try this one again twice in the same day!) -

Thanks for the info— glad this is the remake since Criterion released a 4K version of the 1968 film just last year. -
I may get a lot of hate for this statement, but I absolutely CANNOT believe that Powerhouse/Indicator have chosen this and THE SHIVER OF THE VAMPIRES as their very first 4K UHD releases, especially when so many much more-deserving titles languish in the vaults waiting for 4K releases. I mean, COME ON, Powerhouse!!!!

At my store they have them in stock but you can only purchase them in-store to pick up. You can buy the other steelbook online (I have no clue how/why there are two different steelbooks for this one??)

OUCH. What a bummer. I have found that using a hair dryer on the sticker while still on the slipcase/case; let it heat the sticker for about 10 seconds (sometimes it takes a little longer), but usually the stickers peel right off, and you don't to deal with gasoline fumes (btw, wouldn't Zippo "gasoline" actually be lighter fluid?)

Goldfinger, in honor of my newly-minted (HA!) membership standing! -
@Veum John Alton is an AMAZING cinematographer! He shot Raw Deal and He Walks By Night, two favorites and many others (even the first episode of Mission Impossible in 1966!) and wrote a great book on cinematography, Painting with Light.

Great movie! You see, I did miss at least one! Cathy O'Donnell (shown in the YouTube thumbnail) is mesmerizing in everything she did (she's in one of my all-time Top 10 faves, They Live By Night). Yes, The Amazing Mr. X is a great movie, too!
