Such an incredible amount of new and highly sought treasures my friends! Thanks so much for sharing pics!
That's a wonderful film library you've set up @Reagh. I'll take some time with an expanded view to drool over it. 😍
A quick query if I may @KubricksYarbles, I see on the spine of your gorgeous "First Blood" edition, that it was released by Studio Canal and you mentioned purchasing it via Zavvi.
You also mentioned it was produced by "The EverythingBlu Team". I checked on Zavvi and I don't see mention of them. What perchance is your source for that tidbit of info my Buddy?
(An outstanding release, btw) !
Thanks much! 😀
Why thank you @Grendel. You won’t read specifically about the team behind a design on Zavvi, but Zavvi did hoover up their talent, something I was reading about over the past year from an assortment of forums. Perhaps there was an announcement on Twitter, I just don’t remember.
As you see, Zavvi absorbed the remaining stock from EverythingBlu and put it on their site, and this First Blood set resembles their BP line. Same size, same sticker design, same placement of the back card/number card and remarkable packaging (for Zavvi). The only thing missing is, as you’d expect, their logo from when they were independent, and a poster tube.
In fact the first thing that made me smile was recognising their perforated age classification card 😀

In hand at last, the EverythingBlu team via Zavvi. First Blood!. Same size as their old line when they were working independently, so quite chunky.
The slip embossing is a bit crazy imo, but overall a pleasing package. Have to note the packaging though. Slip in itself was wrapped in flexi cardboard, then air bagged in its box. That box was then air bagged in its own box. One only hopes the JP tin set gets the same care next month!

This is a hot release 🔥 Interesting that they’re still sticking with trinkets, and a tad disappointed that they missed a glorious embossing op. with the station and ship. It is a beaut though 😍 and good on Manta for releasing this…!

The Shining FAC: This is my costliest premium (I’m afraid to open it 😅), I do love its image over white, and such nice gloss texture detail!
Ex-Machina Manta: This was my first premium. Again a simple gloss image over a textured fabric like slip. Also that robot is hot 🥰
Apocalypse Now Nova: just look at it…!
Texas Chain Saw Massacre Turbine: I’ve a few steels of this, but just the one slip. It’s always going to be a favourite, having watched it as a boy 🧸
Dawn of the Dead Second Sight: of it was this or their excellent Drive for my non-steel entry. Great imagery, great quality, great fold out and three versions of the film to enjoy.
Thanking @R1s1ngs0n for the challenge. These things are indeed fun!

Great variety here, and a great way to engage Psycho’s. Thank you @extantsrevenge et al 👍
To join the common herd, I too am not wholly convinced by lenti’s, BUT I have a few, and these have been picked out.
Firstly, the big guy Uncle D once wrote that FAC’s Prometheus was the greatest ever (perhaps I exaggerate his sentiment). As such, I went and bought it, and cracking depth it has too 👍
I don’t have many transitions, but some above look fantastic (and now on a wish list 😆). Based on what I have, I have to therefore vote Depth. I really like my Blufans Moulin Rouge and Nova’s Apocalypse Now.

Yeah, he seems like a top bloke. Very talented, too.
I am looking forward to his DotD release. I actually think I know what A.I. generator he was using because I've been playing around with it myself.
It can create some cool art with any prompt you like. It's called Dall-E or Dall-E 2.
Thanks for the intel.. now im on a waitlist for access. I’d tried apps, but they just werent cutting the mustard.! Was it a long wait btw? Fascinating stuff.

@Veum i meant that Larry does the same job insofar as custom steels to order. Whether Larry has the energy to go all out slips though?!? Check both FB pages and see how each fare. Dan will list a price for his creations to include US so everyone knows the full cost before commiting 😉.

I was too when I first saw the movie on TV. 😄
Did you actually see it when it first came out back then? That's pretty cool.
Yep a dusty old Apollo cinema in Wales. I was young dumb and full… oh wait.
Are you up for his DotD? Pretty neat that AI art isnt it 🥰. Hes a cracking bloke just 30 miles from here. Works hard!
@Veum i think theres a US based buddy of his that takes care of your side (being cheaper postage). Anyone remember that chaps name?

@Fortis93 You were talking about Dan over at ‘Show’.

Leon Vitali, personal assistant to the master and Barry Lyndon's sworn nemesis, Lord Bullingdon, has died aged 74 😔
As someone who watched this masterpiece for the first time two years ago, I found his performance to be a standout in a film choke full of wonderful performances delivered by an ensemble of veteran actors.
A man of many talents who was able to offer movie lovers precious insight into the mind of arguably cinema's greatest genius.
😪 I was reminded of the doc Filmworker (that, for U.K. readers, presents itself on a Prime or All 4 search but alas is unavailable). I dare say Channel 4 will relight that fire in the coming days - it may be something that can be attained on Prime on foreign shores - well worth a look. Obviously a man who can stay by big K’s side for so long was hugely respected (by a man who would famously not take fools gladly).- 3

Yeah, I think that's what puts me off trying it.
I've heard it's quite a tough meat with a strong, distinctive taste.
Pretty little things too. Your country has such a wonderful variety of birds animals and insects. Peer pressure made me have a roo steak. I trust it lived a fulfilling life.

I've personally never had it before.
Apparently, it's supposed to taste like beef or venison, it's very lean and very gamey.
Gamey it is, and tough as Kirk Douglas. Not for me….

Does anyone have feelings towards Dark Crimes (good, bad or indifferent) ? I saw a trailer ages ago and promptly forgot about until checking Jimmy C’s Wiki page today.
