    The slips are all gorgeous!

This is definitely the most expensive shelf in my office now...

UHD Club continues to impress! Between them and Manta I dont need much else...

Wow… 😍 that must have been the most satisfying unboxing 😍

I dunno where you are but here it’s ridiculously windy and only going to get worse in the coming days. Looking at my phone going to be 40-50 mph winds on Friday so should be fun plus the rain always makes it better.

40/50 ?! Pahhh. 95 predicted on BBC for south west, Friday (cue our American cousins who can easily ‘pahhh’ at 95 😆 I’m sure)

Thanks so much to DVD-Store.it! Finally found TOC Blade Runner, and it arrived pristine.  Their shipping is out of this world, and I attached pictures .  FYI it is still in stock there if anyone else is looking for it!  It arrived from Italy to my front door in the United States in 5 days.

What a great find, congrats! and thanks for the heads up, I’d never known about this Italian store, but trundled over and put a copy of this gem missing from my collection into the basket. For my U.K. colleagues who missed this release back in the day, this came to about £50 with (clearly sturdy) postage.

IMrs Yares sounds like a very lucky lady to me.🤣

I've never been to N.Y myself but my wife would love to go (mainly due to her love of Sex and the City series).

Well, more proof of my fair mindedness - we specifically travelled to that Sex/City cupcake shop. Never seen the series, no idea what the fuss was about - I was so bored and tired, but chin up sonny, tomorrow we’re going to the Seinfeld cafe.  What’s that? we’re in Central Park…? ahh this was the bit in Marathon Man (coincidentally 😉) Overall a great, memorable and expensive trip…!

Now, what I’d really love to do is Martha’s Vineyard for a Jaws tour 😍

  5. Indeed death is a bummer.  75 just isn’t that old these days !!

It does however bring into focus great childhood memories!  I was the perfect age to enjoy the spectacle that was Ghostbusters in ‘84 - wonderful entertainment for an impressionable boy. So much so that 20 years later I insisted on giving up one day during a weekend trip to NYC so that I could walk around filmed scenes at Columbia, sit where Bill sat, go to the public library etc.  The now Mrs Yarbles just didnt understand the fuss! I’m tired, this is boring! Lol opposites attract..!  A sad event for the family, does in fact bring up wonderful memories, which im sure Mr.R would be pleased about.  Anyone else have some fond memories looking at his directing filmography?

    Really sad on two fronts:

    (i) Nils having to do all this... so much effort for us (we are not deserving of)!

(ii) FAC insist on doing things this way (just read Dodgy Dave's post).

I also understand the Finance limitations / considerations for many members.

I have a suggestion (it may be a bit left field), but thought I would throw it out there. I will try and give a numeric illustration

I see Mils has tagged 20 UK members: and he has 2 of all three releases left [ 2 x 3]

Let's say in total, these cost £500 (just an example).

    • Can all 20 members agree to split the cost £25 each
    • MP can just send an invoice to each of us for £25 each (final figure once prices are known)

Benefits: This way we can fulfil our Hub allocation

Now, as to the ownership of the editions:

    • We can have 6 raffles [2 x 3]  for the 20 UK members only
    • 6 different members are guaranteed to win at least one edition (so e.g. if a member has already won something, he is out of the remaining raffles)

Benefits: MP gets to keep their chance of future FAC allocations

Winning members can always sell on Ebay (for more than £25 hopefully)!

If a member ends up with nothing, at worst the member will lose is £25

Think of the invoice as an MP "FAC fund"

I will be up for this proposal

An intriguing and creative idea here…. One could even split out the hard boxes to make 8 slips?  The worry being this would be the norm going forward?  Happy to hear others views on this, thanks @Parzival

  7. Kudos to you for trying your damned best every time Nils. I can’t find enough courage to commit to these releases, knowing how expensive they will be.

In fairness to the vendor they are working their business model in a way they see fit (or may be under pressure to do so many less desirable films in order to gain rights to the top dogs?!?). It seems however that the MP/FAC relationship is weighted far more on the challenging side than the rewarding side and that has obviously been the case since I joined MP summer 2020.  It’s a difficult situation that may need difficult decisions, but I appreciate and trust you and the MP staff greatly.

  8. A thought. Once TEoT is all done and as this is an MP exclusive partnership, our friend@ksoskputs forward a list of, say, five titles that would fit the remit and could well be licensed - MP members can each cast a vote…  yes, it’s a popularity contest 🤔

  9. Another show off here from a delighted beneficiary of the Grand Sale.

I love the BB Rambo set and always loved that HDZ image for Man of Steel, so pleased to receive them both. Thanks to Team MP for the inevitable challenge of hand holding and keeping track of all these member buys. Of course, thanks ultimately to John @Masterblaster and his private support network. Browsing the site I clicked through on this feedback button and duly left my regards more formally there 👍

Bought these amazing MP Gloves too.  Great design from @ksosk Long time admirer now a proud owner 😎
And finally, two amaray titles from 88 Films via Zavvi…!

  10. Great first title @ksosk 👏 A great adventure lies ahead with Broad Nation and MP.

Now it’s over I can be less cryptic (winking Caine) and say I had a goldfish and a wife on Warner’s Journey 2 The Mysterious Island.  Someone else must’ve been convinced with that too right? A location mark (as if a journey destination) on a 2 and on what could have been perceived as a massive Rock?!? That is also an island of sorts!

Does the date have to do with the movie? And the mountains?

I'm between two options but the red marker puzzles me

I’d suggest the red marker is key to the mystery… Not long until tomorrow though 😉
