Very nice! I presume you pre-ordered directly from PA? I wonder if this extra BD set will come with the Psychos GB too (for those of us who ordered the 4K box).

Yes, did not know what shipping costs would look like for it (or box cost) either GB or direct and wanted to take my chances direct, which I usually never do. Managed to nab it after a fake out sold out short period that had me freaking out a bit lol, then it popped back into stock and I never ordered so quickly in my life! Haha

    Challenge #2:

It seems like a lot of my favorites have been showcases already so I'll try to show some different slips..

    • Cinemuseum's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood: A combination of beautiful art, texture, and spot gloss. Not quite WeET FS material but definitely high quality and worthy of having in my collection. Hopefully this fulfills the European release and non-steel release requirement. If not, I can dig something else up 😁

    • Fanatic Selection Frozen II Double Lenticular: I honestly didn't get into Frozen until my daughter was old enough to watch. Even then, I thought it was just okay. However, I was blown away by the Frozen II teaser. The animation is next level and the scenery is just breathtaking at times. Fanatic selection was able to capture that with the slip, but especially the steelbook. This is honestly one of my favorite steelbooks.

    • Manta Lab's Godzilla vs. Kong FS: Admittedly, this is not one of my favorite films. However, this is nearing peak Manta FS quality. Gloss, texture, and holofoil are present all around. I particularly love the "debossed" rain on the back of the slip - a very nice touch. I think Manta comes closest to competing with WeET in the FS category (when they want to). I almost chose their Ex Machina FS for this but felt this slip has an extra level of detail. Oh - and let's not forget the super glossy, colorful, and embossed steelbook!

    • Black Barons' Alita: Battle Angel E1 slip: Another stunning FS. While I wasn't able to capture it in the photograph, this slip also has great detail and texturing on both sides. It also has that "velvet" finish to it that makes it REALLY hard not to touch without gloves 😂. This also contains the best steelbook for the film with embossing and spot metallic finishes.

    • Finally, HDZ's Wonder Woman Double Lenticular is easily Top 5 in my collection. I definitely prefer fullslips but if I had to keep only one lenti it would be this one. It is super crisp with wonderful contrast and color on both sides of the slip. Just a great job by HDZ all around. I also really like the film and remember it being one of the pleasant surprises that year.

Also - I think I have an idea for next week. It keeps coming to me and then I lose it again 😬

Your photos are so insanely gorgeous Guy... I'm in awe! I already saw the WW one obviously but the rest are just as beautiful !!

  3. Honestly this is probably one of the worst beauty shots Manta has released. This year has not been great for Manta tbh (Prestige aside since that was good, and idk what else was before that - more so speaking about Dune, Matrix 4, and now this). I was hellbent on one clicking this since I loved the movie, and I was sorely disappointed by the beauty shots.

I think the best slip without a doubt is the FS (and I think the art is good all around on that slip) and I will be signing up for that no matter what. Just sucks because even a part of me still somewhat contemplates the OC because who else is gonna do this movie?? Not counting CM's single slip for it (though it sucks CM didn't do this one as an OC - might have had better art options). HDZeta is the only other company I could see maybe doing it and they c*nc*led Joker and BOP is still nowhere to be found -- on top of their highly erratic/slow schedule of releases -- so I find it highly unlikely at this time. Why can we get 20 release for the TDK trilogy but only one OC of this??

  4. I will chime in and say it would kinda suck if everyone got "punished" per se (I say this because I do enjoy just paying up when the time comes versus upfront, especially considering how many of these titles end up delayed or taking forever) because a handful complain about financials every time an invoice is coming. I don't disagree that some invoices can be a lot, but there's a level you gotta step back and just not join something until you have the money set aside or what have you. When TDK HDZ trilogy was announced, I personally knew I could not spring for the three boxes at that time and chose only to sign up and pay for TDK OC (my financials have changed since then but still). I knew LOTR was gonna be more than the usual and it's not one of my favorites, so I chose to pass so I don't have to "worry" about a decently large invoice when the time comes. It is a hobby after all and we have the choice to not join things -- there are also things to help ease the burden if it's a little too late (i.e. Affirm, Klarna, PayPal pay in 4, etc) and then you can spread it out and possibly pay some interest if you need a long while to pay.

While part of me hopes it does not change the process as I'm a longtimer and I've preferred it and it's something that attracted me to MP in the first place (then again I'm ready to pay once an invoice drops without issue), I do hope that if it does that what someone mentioned about maybe if we're premium membership and we have a long period of no lateness/delinquency then we'd be exempt from it.

Watched this tonight! Very interesting view of the industry, and a very good watch overall. I'm sad this never made it to theaters locally like I hoped it would so I could've watched it earlier this year, but I'm glad I at least got to watch it now. Sofia Kappel is captivating and I'm really just drawn in by this movie. Crazy to think A24 had it and then NEON took it over when A24 tried to neuter it. Wish we got a better blu release with a digital code and a nice slipcover though...

  6. I'm canceling Netflix so I watched a couple of movies yesterday from there and one today

First I watched Silenced (with my fave Gong Yoo from Train to Busan)

    MV5BMTUyNTc3NTg3M15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMzc1

Absolutely heartbreaking film. I was outraged by how these children were greatly failed and how corrupt things were in regard to their "justice"! How wicked can you be to take advantage of not only a CHILD but a child under your care that deals with a disability?? Horrifying story, but I was glad to read this film brought attention and sparked anger in the lax sentencing. I love movies that end up doing something good. Watching the children experience what they did and the ending... I was a mess!!

The second movie I watched was The Perfection

    tumblr_ps6qx7yeEI1rnkqsoo6_r1_540.gif

I did not expect that it was going to be a WLW film (which was very nice) - I love both of the lead actresses. It was very twisty and turn-y. Definitely kept me interested throughout, though I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about it yet. It's definitely different from what I've usually seen, so heavy points for originality.

The last one I watched today was a documentary titled Rocco

    MV5BYzJkN2Q2OTAtNTkxMC00NDIyLWFmMmEtN2Qx

It was undeniably interesting, but it kind of felt like it dragged after awhile. It only has an hour and forty something minute runtime but it felt like 2+ hours at the slow pace it went. You'd think a documentary about a p0rn star would be a lot more entertaining .... lol. But he wrestles with his own morality and a bunch of other stuff, which is ultimately sort of interesting I guess, but you're not sure what to do with it. He also tells a very uncomfortable story at one point that kind of sounded like he sexually assaulted a much older woman but kinda glossed over it?? I don't know.

Has anyone got any opinions on CM lentis? (E.g. are they usually well done or can they be blurry)?

CM lentis are GORGEOUS.... at least the ones I own! Birds of Prey lenti on the car is so good, and the It (1990) lenti I have is amazing too. I'm not sure about more recent lentis as I haven't bought any of their recent releases (well - I signed up for GBs but none have released yet), but the past ones I have certainly are stunners with great depth and look amazing!!

    Loved glow

I already finished season 1 earlier today - really enjoyed it!! I'm sad though to know that they were filming a final season during COVID and they just flat out canceled it due to the pandemic and other factors 😔

  10. I finished the entirety of Manifest in the span of five days lol. Onto the next!

I started watching Glow on Netflix for the first time from the beginning. I love wrestling -- especially women wrestlers -- and this cast, so I'm all the way in!
