Yeah I’ve just read on wiki that it’s part 2 rather than season 2 that’s arriving in January which is what you originally said, I misread it lol. I’m hoping the Blu ray isn’t also a split season (it will).

Yeah I haven’t seen this one either, just found it on funimation so I’ll watch the first few eps this morning probably. There doesn’t seem to be a physical release just yet but if season two’s coming there’s probably one on the way.

Yeah I need to save for that aniplex fate/zero set too, there’s an MVM release over here but I’ve read that the picture quality is vastly inferior. I’ve just finished fate stay night ubw and highly recommend it. I think I’m gonna do the heavens feel route next then watch zero as a prequel and probably watch the original fate stay night. I’m surprised it’s not on Netflix where you are, they must have lost the streaming rights in certain regions cos it’s still on here. just finished cowboy bebop, erased and full metal panic seasons 1-4. Loved Cb, and was thoroughly gripped by erased. @Grendelhad warned me Its a little condensed in parts particularly at the end so I’ll need to read the manga, I might watch the live action remake too which is apparently half decent. Also highly recommend full metal panic, I don’t usually watch mecha stuff but really got into this one, you can technically skip season 2 as it’s a self contained comedy focused season but still worth a watch. Season 1,3, and 4 are superb so fingers crossed for a season 5 to finish it off. Im currently watching hyouka and your lie in April. Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

Hi guys I just got an email from nova media announcing that they’re releasing all of shinkai makoto’s catalogue as full slips (all titles before Your Name) which is jolly good news. There’s no mention of steelbooks, just full slips, so hopefully kimchi do weathering with you for a full set. Also nova are continuing with their Wang kar wai steelbooks too which is nice.

Man I’ve never watched kanon, or air for that matter, I think they’re on funimation but MVM recently announced they’re getting a dvd release in the new year so I’ll pick them up then.

My first submission, five collectors editions by my favourite studio Kyoto animation- clannad, a silent voice, violet evergarden, tamako market, and k-on. (Sorry I couldn’t find a membership card so I used a jcard instead)

yeah it’s a doozy, I actually can’t watch it without rewinding certain scenes to see again. The your name pq certainly isn’t bad, and it’s still a worthy upgrade but I’m wondering if it suffers from being an early 4k release or if funimation just fudged the authoring.

Went for the lenticular myself, I wonder what the picture quality is like on these Korean discs, the funimation/ata discs were fine but not as good as the weathering with you ones by gkids.

Oh I just meant the fact that I went back to the sale twice after swearing that was it, I’ve no discipline lol. I was trying to be careful knowing I’ve got some invoices incoming but what the hell it’s Xmas.

Thanks for that link, I had a look and noticed there’s an aniplex edition of your lie in April, I’m wondering if that has better picture quality than the standard editions I bought from ata, there still sealed so I could sell them but I’m unsure if the AoA editions are an upgrade. Anyway I’ve just added erased ce, re zero ce, and eureka seven ce to my Xmas purchases and now feel very ashamed lol. I watched an ep of revolutionary girl too and it was great but I’m spent for now. I’ve just found seraph on Netflix too so I’ll give that a gander now. Also thanks for pushing me over the edge on the above titles, I’d previously dismissed them for some reason but I couldn’t get over how good erased is.

That’s great thanks for the link, I’ve had a dig through the forums and it seems like it was fixed in time for the complete season but I can’t find a definitive answer but apparently they still have a disc replacement scheme still running so it might be worth the risk anyway. I’m also thinking about erased, eureka seven and revolutionary girl too, I haven’t seen any of them so I’ll watch a few eps to see if I like them. I also still need to get violet evergarden eternity and demon slayer s1 which I’ve seen but don’t own copies of so I have a decision to make before the sale and my 10% code ends.

Yeah I think I’m gonna take the plunge on that belladonna ce, I’m curious though about ata’s forthcoming 4k releases and whether they contain hdr, I’ve read that it makes grain management very difficult and it’s easier to put them out in sdr instead like millenium actress. Anyway I’ve been satisfied with the others I own like akira and gits and they were pretty contentious scans. My sales acquisitions arrived this morning so I’ve got plenty to watch over the coming weeks but I’m starting with cowboy bebop which inexplicably escaped my attention for nearly twenty five years. Also I’m thinking of making one last purchase on re zero but can you confirm your point above about the picture quality issues only applies to the split season editions and not the full season edition? Yeah I like the look and sound of ccs it’s just the timing, I’ve got nichijou, hyouka, and death parade coming up this month too, I dunno I could cancel dp for a month I suppose. I need to mull it over. Glad to see you snagged tamako market for that price, I bought it at full price in august and it’s still money well spent, it seems to be one of kyoani less discussed works along with amagi brilliant park. I’ve watched it through a few times already.

Same on both counts. All the anime president was asked about s2 during a recent q+a on their yt channel and said they don’t have the rights. I’m thinking about splurging on the two part North American sets but it comes to $150.

Nice pick up with Liz and the bluebird, I’m a huge eupho fan but never got around to buying this on disc, I’ve got an iTunes copy with incorrect subtitles.

Yeah it’s a shame the Japanese box set wasn’t replicated in the west, Amazon Japan still has stock but it’s difficult to tell which version you’re looking at so it’s a risky purchase. Same with violet evergarden the movie.

Thanks for pointing out that’s the newer berserk, I’d assumed it was the 97 one. I can’t believe I passed on that steelbook, I didn’t know what it was at the time so I’ll have to get a second hand one soon.

Nice, I haven’t actually watched Titan yet I think I’m gonna wait for a complete set though. There was a great steelbook release for berserk but It’s out of print now, it turns up on eBay from time to time at silly prices. I was looking at the Sentai sale earlier but they don’t ship internationally, can we use gbs for this retailer?

I feel a bit hasty now in buying the recent Korean steelbook though it doesn’t hurt to have an additional steelbook. I do prefer this version though, not least because there isn’t unnecessary text/logos everywhere like the Ive release. I’m curious about the transfer too, is it a new encode? I like the existing hdr disc but I’m pretty eager to see what it looks like in Dolby vision.
