My recent splurge on the Zavvi steelbook sale along with my most recent gb and Amazon arrivals, thanks @blu.steel33. I definitely agree with those that favour the Her full slip over the other two, I’d originally planned to keep the dl but I’ve changed my mind now.

Yeah there was some confusion about this because of the way ufotable communicated it (or didn’t), I was always under the impression that the mugen train arc was separate from season 2 but it turns out it’s the first arc of the season. Most shows aren’t this complicated lol. (Apart from the Fate series, hoo boy).

What he means is, the film takes place in between season one and two, but then ufotable rather cynically turned the films mugen train story arc into an extended seven episode arc that now forms the beginning of season two. You could therefore skip the movie altogether and just watch the extended version, I think funimation lists season two and the mugen train arc separately though. The correct viewing order is season one Movie Season two - mugen train arc entertainment district arc

Thanks for the video link, I keep forgetting to subscribe to mother’s basement, I’ve just watched this vid and he’s more recent one and making a note of what’s airing and what I’ve missed. I’m slowly getting into the habit of watching seasonal anime, apart from demon slayer s2 I don’t always think to check which new episodes have been added but I’ve got plenty of recommendations from these videos. ive just received Revue Starlight ce from anime online which I hadn’t seen and they had as a deal of the week recently for £15. They’re doing the same thing this week with flip flappers ce so I purchased that too. Also, another anituber I like who you’re probably aware of is under the scope who I’ll often refer to if I’m making a blind buy.

Yeah you can’t beat aniplex discs, and their prices. Do you know if the mugen train episodes count as the beginning of season two or are they in between episodes?

It’s great isn’t it? I’m watching the entertainment district arc on funimation and it’s good so far. I’m still not sure when the movies being released here on disc, I might cave and get the Japanese one from cd japans website.

FINALLY found sound euphonium season 2 on eBay for a reasonable price, though the import fees nudged it up a notch. Only the second half came in a case but they sent the sleeve for part 2 and they’re dvd size so I can just use an old case.

I think this thread is perfect for what you’re describing, inevitability news about forthcoming releases and recent purchases are popular, but the most interesting topics tend to focus on shows that people haven’t seen and are curious about. That’s certainly my reason for coming here anyway as I only recently jumped back on the anime bandwagon after falling off in the early 2000’s (and subsequently missing out on a golden era lol).

Whaaaat? These look great, I’m never thrilled when steelbook art is used for the slips but these look great, I went with the lenticular. Also what label is doing this? Not kimchi? Do we know if the other shinkai movies are getting steelbook releases because now I’m hesitant to jump on novas full slips.

This is the last of my xmas splurge erased - loved this so I’ll have to read the manga, vol1 seems to be out of print at the moment so I might just read it digitally. re zero. - liked the first half more than the second but enjoyed it overall, hooboy those pq issues though, I think ata still have a disc replacement scheme going. hyouka - loved and preferred the dub on this one. nichijou - loved, I’d heard it was funny but I was weeping at times demon slayer s1 - a rewatch and I was amazed at the picture quality slime and eureka - haven’t watched yet.

I keep seeing that akudama drive being discussed by people in very favourable terms, I just looked it up on wiki and it looks like one of the more acclaimed animes of 2020. It looks like funimation are only releasing a standard version over here so I might import the set you’ve pictured. I’ll probably stream the first couple of eps today so see if I like it.

Oh this is the Japanese artwork I was hoping for. I hope ata release this version with the pet cover, I don’t see why not as they’re really pushing the 4k format recently.

Wow that nge ultimate edition is huge, I had no idea it was that large. Love those full metal alchemist brotherhood sets too, they’re on my aoa wish list along with fate zero. I do hope Sentai release a standard/collectors edition of galactic heroes, I keep meaning to start it on HIDIVE. Also, is that vampire Hunter d steelbook the first or second movie?

Nova revealed the beauty shots for 5 centimetres per second, it’s an amaray full slip, no word yet I think on subtitles . Hopefully we can get a group buy going for this series @ksosk?

Great pics! It’s a shame they didn’t keep the box size the same, I’m not sure that movie box would even fit in my shelves as I can’t go higher than 20cms. I think they’ve done this with the fate heavens feel movies too. I’m in two minds now about whether to purchase the movie as a stand alone or just buy the season 2 part 1 which will most likely include the mugen train arc in episode form like you say, do we know yet whether this extended mugen train arc counts as the first 7 episodes of season 2 or is it a bridge to the entertainment district arc that’s currently streaming?
