  1. Release Date: August 10, 2020Price: $28,99 Purchase Link: Kimchidvd Always had a soft spot for this movie. Kinda 'there and not there' - in that it has a great cast, action, and soundtrack. But is so subtle where one would expect more, and over dramatic where one would expect less. Yet, I'm sure the irony is that is how Viet Nam felt to many of the soldiers there at the time as well. Looks like KIMCHI is putting out a nice release which I got my dibs on already. But I'm not sure what 'Initial Press Edition' means? I have the DVD currently, and lacks the additional extras. But were they on the NA Blu-Ray release that is now OOP or something?
  2. Good lord! I'll say they're like Criterion! Lovely releases of Shampoo and Anatomy Of A Murder! May have to splurge on that Last Movie of Dennis Hoppers. Was so hoping to get the Indicator version. But being all in French might make the movie more understandable now. LOL Thanks for the heads up!
  3. Think Manta better do a premium Beavis & Butthead release for you guys to go splurge on!
  4. Dang, I do love this movie so! And I really love ALL the KIMCHI covers and would be the one 1 Click I'd be proud to own. BUT - is incredibly expensive now second hand. I do have the Kimchi version with Scarlett on the front which I adore. But seeing how Manta's may look - I may have to splurge on it as well.
  5. Was there something I saw a while back about a release for Artificial Intelligence (A.I.)? Was that going to happen - did happen - or got cancelled?
  6. Dang! Was hoping it was going to be this Coma....
  7. I've been eyeing this EVERYTHING player by Sony that apparently can handle all formats and grades. But it's around the $200.00 still. And my cash flow has been on the TIGHT side lately. But one of these days I may take the plunge. I have a All Region Phillips DVD player which isn't bad in my bedroom, and a handy portable UDME(?) All Region DVD player which I can truck around with, and also hooks up and plays easily on my larger living room TV. Currently have a Sony BD player which I really like in the living room, and wish there was a way to hack it for Region Fee. But have already gotten WCL's 4k version of 2001: A Space Odyssey still sitting in it's box. So I'm gonna have to UPGRADE one of these days, whether I like it or not.
  8. Man, that just would be so awesome to have right beside my big Snowpiercer box in the display case.
  9. Would be awesome if Plain Archive could come out with a English version. All those disc's though with the Joker's version. What are they all, do we know? 4k, BD, DVD, and extras? My cheapo DVD just came with a Q&A with Bong and a couple of trailers.
  10. Thanks Deckard. Such a shame, as the set does look so nice. Hard to believe they can't have ANY English on it whatsoever.
  11. So I'm a little confused now, as I just picked up the DVD cheaply recently. It's audio tracks are Korean and French dub, and only English subtitles. I think these Joker folks merely said 'French Only' - so does that mean the audio track, and no subtitles at all? Or still with Korean, French audio and the English subtitles? And/or the delay is adding subtitles now?
  12. They're a British publisher distributed through Lime Wood Media, and this is their current list of Limited Editions; https://www.powerhousefilms.co.uk/collections/limited-editions I like these folks much better than Arrow, as their booklets and features are really enlightening. BUT not all of their releases are Region Free, and is hard to tell the Standard from the LE. Other than front cover will be a bit shorter for the regular BR release. I was lucky enough to get The China Syndrome and Eyes Of Laura Mars Limited Editions, but kinda got duped on getting Christine and Hardcore versions. And like all us collectors, 2nd best really just isn't good enough!
  13. I'm in love with some of these PH Indicator limited edition releases. But I'm getting duped by many sellers claiming LE (Limited Ed.) where they are in fact STANDARD releases now. Is there any good site or seller that has the 'real deal' and can be trusted?
  14. Looks like such a beautiful set too! But i haven't even seen the movie yet. So I'll have to go "domestic DVD" first I guess, and see if I can afford this one later for my Bong Joon Ho shrine.
  15. I'm on it like stink on poop! So just to understand, the Amazon link is just for the commercial French release, and best to sign up with Jokers to get notified. Can't wait!
  16. Beautiful set indeed! I got my copy awhile back. I also have the smaller lenticular release which I got first before I even knew I had a chance on the big set. Still sealed, but having camera troubles at the moment to upload pic's of it. PM me if you're interested.
  17. Here's the spec's I just got from the seller... Language: English Subtitles: Korean, English Audio: DD 2.0 Aspect Ratio: Fullscreen Running time: 143 minutes Region Code: 0. NTSC Rating: 15 years old I've gotten cheap DVD's from Korea before, and they were FAR from "Premium" quality. Hopefully this won't be another? Fingers crossed!
  18. Thanks for verifying though. It looked too interesting to pass up still. Korean issued, somewhat premium looking, and DVD audio...? I'll keep you folks posted when it arrives what it actually is. I think Amazon has made a mistake in the listing - or I made a mistake in buying it?
  19. I'm not sure if what I just purchased is a forgotten WCL title or what? Amazon claims it as a "DVD audio" disc, but the cover and being from Korea seems to look like WCL...? https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B019Z7IOHO?ref=em_1p_0_ti&ref_=pe_2331390_446376980 I was after the movie anyways, so if it is WCL - WOOHOO! If it's something else, it could still be interesting.
  20. Now would the Shout! release of Phantom Of The Paradise be the same contents as the French version? Gerrit Graham does a lot of his interview in French.
  21. Didn't have much regard for Vinegar Syndrome before, thinking they were schlock savers for the warped few. But have to give them HUGE credit for their issuing of Paul Bartel/Tab Hunter's Lust In The Dust! I'm usually not impressed by all this HD, 4k, remastered stuff. Hate to say, and maybe bad eye sight - but it all looks the same to me. But VS truly did one heck of a remastering/enhancing for Lust that just blew me away! And all the extras on it too which really honor Divine, Paul, Tab and all. The release just 'pops' inside and out. Be you a fan or not of these wacky guys, I highly recommend to check this title out while you can!
  22. My Top 5 I'd love to see totally blown open by WCL; Catch 22 Network The Parallax View Soylent Green Lenny I just find these movies to be groundbreaking, deep, beautiful, forewarning and relevant to this day.
  23. It's such a cute movie I don't think anyone cannot enjoy. The voicings and tempo is just fantastic! I got the B cover, as that scene is so nice. For me, the movie was a blind buy at first. Saw a used copy that had Ernest & Celestine posed for police mug shots, and a list of the actors voices on front for $3 or so. Kinda like seeing a painting in a magazine, then buying a print of it to hang, and then having the opportunity to buy the REAL thing! I prize this version like my very own Van Gogh or Dali!
