    relax okay?

Your Dawn of the Dead Copy is here and the plan was to ship them together. Out of personal issues I have to lay down my job as HUB now (thats the reason Lars sent you Doctor Who). You will get your copy of Dawn of the Dead soon and I will pay for the shipping. Hope that will calm you down a bit.

Well, I was really relaxed the entire time, wouldn't you say? But how would you feel, if you are waiting for something, and whenever you ask, you get to hear "it's coming with the next shipment, any day now", but then you wait an additional x months and nothing arrives? All others are posting their new arrivals, and you wait and wait and wait, and nothing keeps happening?

And yes, if I had known about you laying things down for personal reasons I would have reacted totally different. But I honestly feel that you should work on your communication skills as well. Take Forenhase from whom I've been buying for half a decade now, even before I was here on this forum - when there is a delay, he says so. When he doesn't know he says: "Hey, I don't know when it'll come, I'll tell you as soon as I know something new"; and then he does. Or he says: "Short notice, sorry, I still have no information, I'll keep you posted", etc.

For this groupbuy my experience was that I always have to ask for my products regularly and if I don't, nothing happens. And yes, that is my subjective feeling - I don't know if that is true or not, and I don't want to assume that it was that way. And I don't feel good, pressuring other people, because I know you all have a personal life as well, so at least some information or status update would have been nice, especially after a couple of months passing.

So, sorry, for using such harsh words, but please also try to put yourself into my shoes and imagine how you would feel. Anyways, let's put this to the past, where it belongs. For your future I wish you all the best - I don't know what these personal issues are, but I am sad to hear this, and I sincerely hope it's nothing serious! And I do thank you for your "services" - even though it wasn't the best experience for me personally, but I guess we where unlucky then. I do value each and everyone's work they put to this community!

EDIT: Just a PS, to set the record straight though - you did already charge me for shipping - I think it was also in April already, and I assume sobmaster did the same (he just billed me some 7€). So you are not paying for the shipping - and that's totally okey. I don't want you to sit on any costs and pay them for me - you've put a lot of work into this, and it wouldn't be right, if you where sitting on any costs. At least I wouldn't feel right with it. So please if there is anything still open, bill me - but as far as I can tell, I've already payed everything (including shipping from you to me).

    Hi guys,

I have to say, I am a bit disappointed. I've been asking for my editions every now and then, but till today nothing changed. I have ordered "Dawn of the Dead" in December last year, and "Doctor Who Season 24" this year in February. Both have been payed in April, and since then I've been waiting. I was patient and understanding due to the Corona problems - but these have been solved since over half a year now. To my latest knowledge (which is also 3 months old now), "Dawn of the Dead" is in Germany, and "Doctor Who" was still in UK, but was promised to come with the next shippment.

What is the hold-up? I could currently order Doctor Who from amazon.co.uk, and it would be here in two days. It's especially frustrating to always having to ask and not getting any concrete answer.

It's bin a while since the last promise to ship everything ASAP. Today I finally got mail, and I was so relieved to finally be getting my stuff, not from @thomue1987 but @sobmaster (who did a great job on packing), and I was already planning on a big thank you post, and even wondered if I was too impacient and should appologise for my lastly harsh words.

Then I opened the package and was disappointed again. Now "Doctor Who Season 24" was sent, but "Dawn of the Dead" is still missing. According to you, "Dawn of the Dead" was here in Germany in February, you've asked me to wait for "Doctor Who" who should be on the way, I've paid everything, including shipping in April, and since then I either don't hear from you or you're telling me "Dawn" is here, we're just waiting for the "Doctor". Now I get the Doctor without "Dawn of the Dead", and again I have to be asking about where my package is.

So again: What is the hold-up? Why hasn't "Dawn of the Dead" already been shipped, if you planned to send it to me separately anyways? Please, either send me the package ASAP or send me back the money. I've could have gotten them elsewhere for months, but put my trust in you; now they are all sold out, and for Dawn of the Dead I've been waiting nearly a year now. 😡

No problem, times are hard for all of us right now, and there is a lot keeping all of us busy. For me it's just important to know, that my edition is save, otherwise I'd have to look elsewhere. To get that important piece of information too late could be really expensive or mean that you miss out entirely. As long as that is save, I am all happy :)

    Thanks for your fast response!

  6. Hey guys,

just a small question on status (and not to nag you or anything, but it is nice to know when to put aside the money, etc.). I know that my Dawn of the Dead has been ordered and ready to ship. I got a PM a while ago about my PayPal account for the invoice (beginning of Febuary) but I haven't heard anything since. Are there any news? Also, regarding Doctor Who (which is even more important to me), did you manage to secure one?

    All the best!

Didn't expect anything else from you, my friend. All the good movies you already own! :D My collection on the other hand..... 😅 I'm really looking forward for this one, to be quite honest. Haven't seen it yet, but heard so many good things that I cannot wait to finally being able to watch it :)

  8. Release: April 30th, 2021, original release Date:

    Link (Wicked Shop): Cover C

    Price: 29,99€

    Limited: 333

Remember, how I always use to say, that I own everything from Wicked Vision EXCEPT their Jean Rollin Collection? Also remember, how I praised Wicked Vision for teaming up with Timo Würz. I feel like Daniel knew the second fact and heard the first one and said: "Hold my beer".

The result, well: Wicked Vision is re-releaseing "Sexual-Terror der entfesselten Vampire" - which is one of the most horrifying title translations that you can think of, as the literal translation of the German title would be: "sexual terror of the unleashed vampires", whereas the original title "Le Frisson des Vampires" would actually mean "the thrill of the vampires". Anyhow, it's probably more fitting, as the trailer already suggests that in the case of the movie, vampires means female vampires, and - typical for french movies? - these female vampires run around naked, bade in blood and are attracted by other female vampires. Well...

This is not my movie, then again, I had a talk with Daniel and at the end of it, it just happened. I ordered it anyways. 🙈

Few thinks to note about the author, the film, and this release:

Jean Rollin (1938-2010) was a french director and screen writer that created a lot of surrealistic movies, with a special focus on vampire films. These movies where the foundation of his career. They often have some kind of erotic component and naked females in them, which is why in the 1970s he soon was labeled and reduced to being a "Vampire-Sex-Movie" director, which according to some is unfounded and unfair. He is the director of the first ever french vampire movie (Le Viol du Vampire), as well as the director of the first ever french gore film (Les Raisins de la Mort). Growing up as a child of a theater director he came in touch with the theater scene quite early and soon also developed a taste for American Low-budget movies. His interest for surrealism could be explained by his early on friendship with Goerges Bataille, who worked as a librarian but became famous as a philosopher, as well as for his surrealistic poetry and prose. However, under different pseudonyms, Rollin also created a couple of hardcore movies. Rollin was most active in the 70s where he created half of his credited work (and the major share of his pseudonym works that also included some feature films). His last film was the 2009 movie "Le Masque de la Méduse", that was released a year before his early death due to his long struggle with cancer.

Le Frisson des Vampires was released in 1971 and is the third mainstream work of Jean Rollin. As with the two predecessors and the film that would follow it, its a Vampire movie. It is to this day one of the rather unknown movies, though some critics would coin it one of Rollin's defining films. It's one of these "you either love it, or you hate it" films. General consensus seems to be that the movie is rather slow paced and bad in acting as well as in its effects. For a vampire movie there is extremely much naked skin, lesbian seduction and a lack of fangs and actual vampire action (e.g. flying, blood sucking, etc.). Also the story is rather dull. Where viewers differ is if this is actually a good thing or a bad one. Fans of the movie would argue that it has great visuals, a great atmosphere, wonderful gothic sets and a surrealistic dream like quality to it, saying that this movie actually turns all its negative aspects into something aesthetically pleasing. People who hate it will say that it is boring, dull and ridiculous (in a bad way) for its bad acting, bad narrative and absurd usage of music. Thus, on most movie-rating websites such as IMDb, the movie is rated somewhere around 5 out of 10 points. Daniel himself lured me into getting this, by describing the movie as a film that simply is fun to watch, but even if the film is too trashy one would appreciate the German cut and the acompanying audio commentary, as it shows how crazy the 1970s where in Germany where Germany was quite busy re-cutting movies to fit them into the 'train station cinema'(*).

Wicked Vision released this movie as on of their very first productions in 2016, and it was the beginning of their first "side series" beside their "main" series being the "Wicked Vision Collector's Edition", i.e. this release also marks the No. 1 release of the "Jean Rollin Collection" by Wicked Vision. It was originally released on August 29th, 2016 and came in two different cover artworks: Cover A was the original french movie poster, cover B is the rare Italian movie poster.

    13693006_867383803365492_1081233030242133555_o.thumb.jpg.7018361a7b26b7ec1130ebf9ceb88e2b.jpg

The release has two different cuts, one is the original french cut (95 minutes), the other the German cinema recut (81 minutes), which was said to be lost, but actually Wicked managed to secure a copy (especially the dubbing), and added it as bonus to the Blu-ray (this cut is missing on the DVD copy that was also included in this set). There is the typical 24-page Booklet by Pelle Felsch (in German), and on the discs you'd get:

    • Introduction by Jean Rollin
    • Audio commentary by Jean Rollin
    • Audio commentary by Christian Keßler & Pelle Felsch [most probably in German]
    • Short movie "Liberta" by Jean-Nël Delamarre
    • "Rouge Vif - Nervenkitzel der Vampire" featurette
    • Trailer
    • Picture Galery
    • Deleted scenes
    • Audio commentary for the German cinema re-cut by Pelle Felsch, Daniel Perée and Ludger Holmenkamm [most probably in German]

Interestingly, the movie itself will feature three audio tracks: the original French one, the German dubbing AND the English dubbing as well. And there was a large number of subtitles: German, English, Danish, Finnish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portugese, Swedish and Spanish.

Marking the movies 50th birthday this year, and given that the release is 5 years old and long-time sold out, as well as the fact that due to the pandemic Wicked wasn't able to continue the Jean Rollin collection at all the last year (they couldn't produce any bonus material in France, plus under the condition of the pandemic producing dubbings is financially not feasible), Wicked decided to re-release the movie. Not for the moneys sake, but because a lot of people only discovered this lable quite late, and while a few of the later Rollin titles where still easier to get, this one is rather hard to secure (at least if you are not willing to pay figures in the hundreds for it). Therefore Wicked decided to make this really small re-release, just 333 copies (original had 1000 + 500 copies for covers A and B), and to make it "special" with a newly comissioned artwork by Timo Würz.

I of course asked Daniel, if he'd be planning to release all the other Rollins (possibly all with Wrüz' Artwork) as well, and he honestly answered, that they cannot tell. They'd probably like to, but it is not planned for now and depends on a lot of things, so I wouldn't count on it - just for those considering to get it as an introduction to the entire collection.

I'll link the English trailer, as it is cut in a way that is totally free of naked skin :D
It still has a age restriction warning, probably due to all the blood spilling and drinking. But other than that it is really harmless.

What do you think about the movie? Would you get it? Do you know it?

(*) the German "Bahnhofskino" is something that doesn't exist anymore. These Cinemas where located directly at or sometimes even in the train station, and are comparable to the US "Grindhouse" cinemas, in them showing mostly low-budget B-movies. However - and this is where they differ from the Grindhouse - they also showed (softcore and sometimes even hardcore) pornographic movies, and to top it off, it was also a "news cinema". Strange mixture, probably to entertain people waiting for a train with some really shallow pictures that whern't too captivating to risk audience missing their train and where you wouldn't mind at all stepping in or out of the movie somewhere in-between.

  9. PS:  Which of the covers did you get? I opted for Cover B, as I liked that it was a drawn cover (I am a sucker for drawn covers, they always win my heart over). I like the A one for its much better use of color, but I actually hate those collages where you have different scenes of the movie all smashed together. Even though they are the original covers (which I highly appreciate!) I'd rather see them in the booklet and a cool really rare exclusively and newly commissioned artistic artwork on the outside. But yeah, that's just me :D I know a lot of people love the retro-style packaging, and I do get why they do :D I think I would be drawn to them as well, if it was the cover I grew up with, but most of these movies where long before my time, to be honest.

  10. Hi Ingojira!

Yes, this is know, and in the past I used to also research all the cover artworks I did not know, just to add that information in the texts as well. The reason I am not doing that anymore is simply that I don't find the time, and that I feel that if I do, the time is rather "wasted" because not many are interested in these releases here anyway. From the few that I know that are interested, some wont buy it, because of the all German booklet, others already invested in Box sets like the releases of PowerHouse Indicator from UK, or many of the US releases, and so they are only interested in selected titles.

That's why my rather lengthy presentations of the releases and movies did grow smaller and smaller in the last months. But you are always welcome to add additional information like this. This is really appreciated (at least from my part :) ).

    Thanks! :)

  11. Hello, friends of the Hammer Horror :)

there is an update for this one!

    Release: April 30th, 2021

    Link: Cover A, Cover B, Cover C, Cover D

    Price: 29,99€

Link as always is for the Wicked Vision Shop, as I feel they cater best to international needs, but of course it is available on may other German Mediabook sellers as well (e.g. Pretz Media, BMV Medien, etc.). Anolis made four covers, because according to them this is the second high requested movie after "Dracula: Prince of Darkness". This might be an indicator for this one selling out fast, so if this is interesting to you, you've been warned :D

Also, I am still lacking the list of extras here, so here you go:

    • Audio commentary with Dr. Rolf Giesen [most probably German]
    • Audio commentary with Uwe Sommerlad & Volker Kronz [most probably German]
    • Audio commentary with Steve Haberman and Constantine Nasr [most probably English]
    • Documentary: "The Birth of Hammer Horror" [English]
    • Documentary: "David Huckvale on the Music" [most probably English]
    • US + German Trailer
    • German title sequence
    • "Trailers from Hell" with Joe Dante [most probably English]
    • Super 8 Version of the movie
    • Picture gallery

Not sure, which of these are exclusive (and not enough time to check) - if you do, please share with us :)

Are you getting any cover? I was torn between Cover C and Cover D, and in the end opted for Cover D, because it has the main actor (Peter Cushing) on it. But I also really love Cover C as well. This is a hard one to pick.

  15. Hey guys!

Maybe a moderator/administrator can update these info in the first post:

    Release: March 19th, 2021

    Link: Cover A, Cover B

    Price: 29,99€

Ist möglicherweise ein Cartoon von Buch

Wicked Shop is just one example where you'll be able to get it, but since now even international buyers have made good experiences with Wicked, so as usually I'll link them. Interestingly, this time Anolis chose to go with both titles. Next to the German "Ufos zerstören die Erde", we get the English Title Gorath as well (which is near to the Japanese original: Yōsei Gorasu; translated to "Omnious Star Gorath").

Will you pick this up? If so, which cover will you choose? International buyers be aware though:

This only comes with Japanese original soundtrack, or German dubbing, and only includes German subtitles. Not English friendly, unfortunately :(

I myself picked out Cover B. Both are not nice, in my eyes, and while I really like the colors of the first one, I like the more original title on the second one, and also that it is a drawn artwork not a cheap photoshop montage.

Ignoring all the Groupbuy procedure questions (as I cannot answer them, because I live at (or rather in) the source, so to speak, I can however share this info: "Better Watch Out" is still available in all cover variants in diverse shops (just e.g. Pretz Media). "Get Out" however is MediaMarkt/Saturn exclusive, so you can only order it via those pages, and unfortunately Cover A (most favoured one) was already sold out before the release date. Cover B and Cover C are however still available. Just regarding the A one there is no chance, other than crazy private high reseller prices.

Interested to see what you thought @pygospa. This one is definitely on the more “extreme” end of things and wouldn’t be a recommendation from me for most people.

But if you’re into morbid indie, envelope-pushing stuff, BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE is hard to top within the last few years. Killer effects on the creatures, but the sexual elements will be a bit much for most. Viewer beware!

In general, I agree with you. To be quite honest, I've watched it a while ago, and have forgotten most of it already :D I liked the general Idea of the Virus being invented in a Family home by some random scientist in his cellar and escapes by some home invaders. However, that's about all good that can be said about this movie. The family was so badly palyed, so random, not at all did I believe that these actors had any bond at all. Yet, everything was so cliche. The brutallity of the invaders was also over the top and not at all believable, and the characters did not behave at all in their characters - there where so many character breaks that where simply unbelievable. E.g. take the rape scene at the end, that just came out of the blue. WTF?

So in the end I'd say: Great potential in the idea, that totally gets lost in the realization which focuses on being over-the-top brutal, instead of spending the time in developing believable characters. Bad writing, bad acting. I cannot really recommend the movie. So sorry for sharing it - but as you know, I always only share things here, that I actually buy, and this was not different. I regret it a bit, though :D

Severin has gone to great lengths to capture 5 of these fliks into a very cool box-set ( $105 Usd )

Wow, that's definitely a great box and a great price as well. But given that this might probably be Region A locked and I still didn't manage to get a Region A player (yeah, yeah, shame on me - but to be honest, I am not willing to pay crazy prices on voided warranty Germany Blu-ray players that might not work the minute they get an update, and currently it's impossible to get something from the US due to Corona. I was hoping for some cool and cheap black Friday sales offer, but well... you all know what's going on in the world, currently :(), I might not be trying to get one even though the bundle looks superb. But same thing: Not even sure if I could get one if I wanted :( (plus I am lately really frustrated not managing to per-order certain release anymore due to bots and sellouts in the first 30 seconds, that I am starting to loosing the fun in collecting, entirely).

But enough of that wining. If it would have been released somewhere around here, I would most definitely have gotten it, even if I didn't like the package. But the value you get - and as far as I know none of these titles have been released around here (maybe UK, but mainland Europe?). And with all that bonus material: A real treasure box

I am always astonished at how fluently Lee was able to talk in so many different languages. I don't talk much french, but even I can appreciate how fluently and good he must be speaking that language. A true genius, through and through (and one of the very few people that made it into the 21st century but could even look back to a personal meeting with Tolkien - another one of my idols).

So this went incredibly fast on Collectong’s site. Very thankful for the MP group buy!!

This was really disappointing. I wanted to get it through MP, because I thought this might go fast, but I was too late for MP, so I said: Well, I manged all the last times. So I was logged in everywhere, I was ready, reloaded the second it was online, went through the entire checkout, even processing PayPal, and only on the last page, after returing from PayPal did it say "sold out". I am really really pissed at this being even possible; think of it figuratively: If I was at a real counter, someone else had figuratively speaking stolen it right out of the hands of the cashier, just the second before I gave her the money. Really frustrating. And of course all the ******* are putting it 3-4x the price on eBay, right now. Just takes the fun out of collecting these things, entirely.

I will not order with Zavvi anymore because their service to Germany is - well there is no way to suggar-coat it: stop using inappropriate language.

Which is why I want to use your service to secure one of this. Now, for my question: For the GB Request, should I put in the amazon.co.uk link or the zavvi link? I'd like to choose whatever you've made the best experience with. If you don't care, I'd myself opt for the Amazon one.

Pappierumschlag an.

Was würdet ihr tun? Leider sind diese Boxen auch immer schnell ausverkauft, und dann unbezahlbar teuer :(

  23. Well that was to be expected: Wicked is sold out.

There is another shop, that is already carrying them: verleihshop.de. However they are a bit more complicated (you need to first send them money for your account via PayPal, and only when they register the money, can you then spend it on the shop, and apparently they advertise it to be with no shipping costs, but at the checkout it always calculates shipping costs, which they now reacted to, and promised that they will refund it to you... seems to be a real fuzz). And I have no idea about international shopping with them.

I can try to keep you posted on other shops, when I see that they add it, but please don't rely on me with this one and keep your eyes open as well.

  24. I CAN FINALLY REST IN PEACE ONCE I DIE!!!!

Today morning, Anolis finally announced their release info:

Release date will be February 19th, release information will be send out tomorrow to all shops, so that it should be ready for pre-order mid of next week.

Well, usually Wicked will be the first to announce that they already have it in their store, so this morning I spent a couple of hours refreshing the shop, but no release. So at noon I contacted the label boss, and he told me, that it'll be in stock probably tomorrow morning. Now, at 2 o'clock he wrote me another message that woke me from my sleep :D And FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY I could order it: The last title that was missing in my Anolis Hammer Horror collection.

Still can't believe it. But now I'm going to bed. Before  I do - if you wanted this, please be fast, there is a rumour, that it might be just 400 copies, Anolis just upped the number of copies to meet the number of copies of all the other releases they put out.

Here is the link, if you want to order via Wicked Vision: https://www.wicked-shop.com/de/das-gruene-blut-der-daemonen-limited-mediabook-edition-cover-b.html
