Films to See in 2023

I'm interested to see what people are looking forward to this year that has been announced. I know there are a few things that are popping up in the next couple of months that I have to check out.

  • Infinity Pool - January 27 - Brandon Cronenberg is at it again after Possessor, and it looks like he's bringing more body horror this time around. I loved his debut film, and am looking forward to the same style, with an even more insane looking cast, and I'm interested to see if Mia Goth can keep up the string of awesome films that she has been in!
  • Maxxxine - No Firm Release - Ti West's first two forays into this world have been insanely interesting and entertaining to watch, and look at that, another Mia Goth film that will probably help solidify her as one to look for in a lot of upcoming horror entries. Can't wait to see how he wraps up her story!
  • Knock at the Cabin - February 3 - I loved the book that this is based on, and am looking forward to see what M. Night can do with this. I also have been really enjoying Dave Bautista's work, and he's really shown that he can do some serious work. Also, seeing Rupert Grint in something like this is also very odd, but should be interesting.
  • Marlowe - February 15 - Liam Neeson has been in a lot of stuff recently, and it's all been roughly the same kind of action schlock that seemed to follow him after Taken came out, but this time it seems like he's finally doing something that I've always thought he would be good at; neo-noir crime thriller. And with Jessica Lange as well, this looks like it might shape up to be a hell of a film.
  • Renfield - April 14 - Nicholas Cage as Dracula? It sounds insane, and it sounds like I will enjoy the hell out of it. Also, to see Hoult acting opposite of Cage should be pretty interesting. After seeing him in The Menu, I'm eager to see what he will bring to this horror/comedy!
  • Evil Dead Rise - April 21 - No Bruce, no Ash, and no cabin in the woods. Bringing the Deadites from the woods to the city sounds like it could be a big mis-step, but with Raimi, Tapert and Campbell all on board, and from the one trailer that I checked out, I think that this will be fun. I was also a big fan of the originals and the reboot, and will defend the reboot to the grave because it was exactly what it needed to be, no more, no less.
  • Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse - June 2 - Into the Spiderverse was so well done, from the animation, to the story, to the voice acting, that I wanted more as soon as the movie was over, and now we will get more of that universe coming in June.

There are a lot more coming, but those are just a few off the top of my head that I have been following and can't wait to see. I know that Antman is going to be something I check out as well, mostly because I love Rudd and I have a soft spot for Marvel still. But, I am eager to hear what you guys are looking forward to, and perhaps you'll even add some stuff that is coming out a little under my radar and I will have to add it to my list!

Pretty much all of this as well. I am a little hesitant on the reboot of The Exorcist, but if they get the right people to work on it, it might be pretty good. Also, I know that Indiana Jones gets a lot of stop using inappropriate language, especially that last movie, but I actually didn't mind it, and I look forward to seeing this next one. Great list, man!
