In my early 20s, I lived with 3 other lazy guys in a glorified shanty in the hills of eastern Kentucky.  No one wanted to mow the yard.  I always wanted to just buy 2 goats, put one in the front of the house and the other in the back, just to see if they’d take care of the problem.  Alas, the other guys wouldn’t go for it.

Can you return it and go for a different model or brand? I've got a Makita mower that uses two batteries, works great. Granted, we have a ton of those batteries because we're a Makita household (and our yard is small).

Mine came with one battery and has a slot for a 2nd battery, but the 2nd battery is a bit expensive.  I’ll probably just bite the bullet and buy the 2nd battery.  In every other way I’m pretty happy with the mower.

Makita tends to be great though!  Had one of their weed eaters for many years and I’m frankly not sure what happened to it.  We moved a lot for my work, lived in 2 places that we rented and didn’t have to worry about the yard work.  Started unboxing at the new house and it didn’t turn up.

I just bought my first electric mower, should’ve done more research, didn’t realize electric mowers are mostly a trick to get you to buy more of the (expensive!) batteries.  The battery that came with it will sometimes get all the way through the yard, sometimes it won’t.  I’ve had to mow part of it one day, the rest of it the next day after the battery charges.

He’s so amazing that, as someone who grew up a Kentucky basketball fan, I can even forgive him for being a Hoosier :)  (Thankfully he didn’t *play* for Bob Knight and the Hoosiers.). Thanks for the pics, would love to go there.  If they don’t have a Bird statue, they should.

I’m happy to report that my previous just arrived today from Walmart and DUNE PART TWO takes its rightful place in the shelf beside part one. I’m guessing we’ll be seeing a fair amount of these photos here soon! 🤣

Now I just need to find the time to revisit this fantastic film.

*The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947) 🧙🧙🧙🧙🧙

A romance between a young widow and a sea captain's ghost weaves a magical tale of immortal love. Determined to live her life the way she wants, newly widowed Lucy Muir (Gene Tierney) declines her straitlaced in-laws demand that she live with them and moves with her daughter (a young Natalie Wood) to

A lovely classic fantasy with the beautiful Gene Tierney lovesight.gif and the salty Seaman Rex Harrison, they are magical together.

Man she was gorgeous.  Always makes me more likely to watch a movie.  I watched Night and the City last week, with her and Richard Widmark.  Great movie, but she’s not in it much.

    Have you seen Laura?

I sure hope so. I think I was busy the day the pre-order went live and have been SOL ever since.

I would still prefer a premium version but I'll definitely get this version if I can get it at msrp value.

I have to believe there are going to be plenty of premium sets, I’m expecting premium sets with both movies.  Looking forward to owning one :)

Were you able to order from Gruv though? I tried the link and it says the item is in stock, but unless I'm just really dumb (certainly possible), I don't see any options to actually place an order. Will you be able to help out a fellow Psycho please? 🙏

I didn’t try it, Amazon tells me my copy is coming on Tuesday.  I just clicked on the link out of curiosity.  Sorry.

    Me too 😭

I wish there's a restock but I highly doubt it so I may need to bite the bullet for the reseller rates unless/until I can get a Manta Lab or HD release.

I just followed the Gruv link and it appears to be in stock.

Question for folks who already got theirs: is Gruv who you ordered from?  Ordered mine from Amazon; they normally get me discs precisely on the release date but never early.

I somehow just saw this post, and I LOVE The Proposition.  I thought of it again last week.  Amazing performances across the board but especially Danny Huston, and holy hell it’s beautiful.  Not sure I’m aware of a movie that uses the Australian landscape as well, and there are some great contenders.

Also, I can never hear Danny Boy without thinking “the flies, the flies are crawling.”

One other note here:  this is the only work that makes me think Hillcoat can handle Blood Meridian, and I hope he can find this director in himself again.

Caveat:  I haven’t seen The Road.  The book made me cry when I was childless.  As the father of a son these days, I haven’t gotten up the nerve to watch the movie.

    It's Friday again!

Today here we have summer weather, and we have to make the most of it because tomorrow it will get worse and in two days we will be back to winter.

    Yes, weather is going crazy.

Even so, we still miss Mr. Lynch.  We hope to hear from him soon!

Man I hope so.  It’s been too long.
