Last night was the “requel”/ reimagining of Candyman from director Nia DaCosta and producer Jordan Peele. deftly does a better job than some other recent attempts to follow up a beloved story (looking at you Halloween and TCM) while presenting it with an assured visual style and flair. Solid performances and effective CGI gore. Solidly - and sadly - topical as well. well done. 4/5🐝🐝🐝🐝
