  1. New goodies came in, and picked up some oldies for the horror collection!

Had to have the Invaluable Evil Dead Documentary from Synapse.

After a lot of searching, I finally got the Unrated version of TCM: The Beginning. The 2 pack of TCM & TCM: The Beginning from Alliance actually has the R-Rated Version not the Uncut version as stared on the packaging.

Also, had to fill some holes in Halloween Collection with Rob Zombie's Halloween/Halloween II R-Rated Version and the 24 Years of Terror Documentary.

Next up, got the old remastered NOES DVDs (only way to get the Full-Frame Versions) and a few more Anime & Transformers. Lastly, was Highlander: The Source for my Highlander Collection.

  2. We watched Revanche on Sunday and Solaris last night via Amazon Prime.

Revanche was an amazing movie. Iloved  the acting and how it was intertwined with each story. This will be a definite purchase through Criterion.

Now Solaris is a rough one. I enjoy the story that Clooney is going to see why they have cut ties with Earth, which leads to him wanting to do the same. But then, I'm not a big fan of the acting, which makes it harder to watch.

  3. We watched Cinema Paradiso on Wednesday. I love this movie, I've had the Arrow version on Blu-Ray for so long. Toto's fascincation with all things films, is ironically why a lot of us are here in Media Psychos. The ending is beautiful about what he finds, but I won't spoil it. We love movies, shows, features, and are drawn to them. I've seen the both the Theatrical and Director's Cut, and actually prefer the Theatrical because of the pacing. On to Solaris!

Also, for my pick @Reagh, it's going to be horror of course, but not your normal American one. My recommendation is Dark Water (2002) by Hideo Nakata, one of my favorite Japanese Horror films.

“A must see for any horror fan.” – Horror Society

THIS IS WHERE THE STORY OF “THE EVIL DEAD” BEGINS…

Sam Raimi’s 1981 film THE EVIL DEAD is a horror masterpiece that has terrified audiences for over 40 years and spawned sequels, a remake, video games, toys and even a television series. The original film’s iconic special effects and make-up were created by Tom Sullivan, a Michigan artist and sculptor who became friends with Sam Raimi, star Bruce Campbell and producer Rob Tapert when they were in college.

Ryan Meade’s INVALUABLE: THE TRUE STORY OF AN EPIC ARTIST is a feature length documentary about the life and art of Tom Sullivan and his involvement with the EVIL DEAD film series. Assembled with amazing archival Super 8mm film footage, Hi8, VHS, and vintage audio tapes and photographs, it’s a unique and sentimental portrait of a man who helped make one of the greatest horror franchises of all time. Also contains amazing behind-the-scenes footage, original location visits, all-new interviews with Bruce Campbell, Ted Raimi, Josh Becker, Danny Hicks, Hal Delrich, Ellen Sandweiss, Betsy Baker, Theresa Tilly and more!
