  1. Mine may be a bit too predictable, but if you’re referring to one of the first times I felt a rush of euphoria that made me feel like anything in filmmaking is possible, then it’s got to be the climactic battle in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Must have been on a ratty VHS or Beta tape owned by my father. He wasn’t the biggest film buff, but he had the classics. I genuinely think my love of film came organically through having such a Spielberg-dominated childhood. It led me to track down what inspired Spielberg, sending me down a path I’m still walking down years later. Anyway, this scene…it contains the essence of filmmaking, which is storytelling through motion. Leone was known for making intimate moments like these outsized, reflecting the exact western myths he intended to revel in and break down repeatedly.
  2. A nice mail day with a couple of OOP box sets from Indicator from a private seller, a glossy steel for Heat from Best Buy, The Northman 4K steel from Zavvi and Nightmare from a private seller.
  3. Oh wow, looks like CM might be teasing a premium set of the other Exorcist films!
  4. A handful of cool releases just hit my doorstep. The top three are from OrbitDVD and the bottom two from a private seller.
  5. Just got the newest round of titles from Mondo Macabro, one of my personal favorite boutique labels. If you like horror and genre oddities, you should check them out!
  6. Just got my shipping notification for the Full Slip from CM direct.
  7. An absolute bounty of new boutique releases came in the mail today. We've got titles from Second Sight, 88 Films, Eureka, Vinegar Syndrome, Culture Shock Releasing, AGFA, Utopia Films, Yellow Veil Pictures, Deaf Crocodile and Fun City Editions! Where do I even start?!
  8. Some beautiful pick-ups, mate. As for the "all-in-one post" comment, I was thinking about that myself. Maybe a member of the staff can shed some light on this matter since there's no official rule. Is there a possibility that MP users can stick to a "one reception post per haul" kind of rule? I've found in the recent past that posting a reception post for each edition you receive leads to some really unnecessary bloat in the thread.
  9. Some nice pick-ups from the past few days. Can’t recommend Malignant 4K highly enough. Leaps and bounds better than the Blu-ray.
  10. Yeah, I've got a pretty sizable collection of Severin titles to begin with. Filled in some blind spots with the recent sale. Excited for them all! Especially the Jess Franco titles.
  11. A trio of new releases from 88 Films in the mail. Already watched The Seventh Curse, which I never thought would ever see a Blu-ray release or even a restoration.
  12. Some new arrivals for the collection. A bunch of Kino Lorber titles from their current sale and The Eurocrypt of Christopher Lee Collection 2 from Severin! The dog arrived a long time ago, but they wanted to be included in the photo.
  13. Thanks so much for offering this info.
  14. Did they say anything about the status of The Antichrist?
  15. Very nice mail day today. We've got the two new LE releases from Cauldron Films, the new Lawrence of Arabia 4K steel and two cool mediabooks I won in a raffle!
