Since @Casiusco owns the canoe/boat, that made him Quint.
I had a hard time deciding whether you would be Chief Brody or Hooper. 😄

Hey, dude, we have been talking about you
I have a business proposition for you. You know those movies about a guy who crosses the ocean by himself?
And Oliver Stone's Savages? Yeah, mix it with The Lord of the War, we don't have as much charm as Nicholas Cage but we're good guys.
But will also add a bit of Bad Boys. In case we have to give a slap in the face.
And now think about becoming a living legend.
The Australian who blew up international trade!!!
What could go wrong?
It's a perfect plan.
Send me the location, as soon as I buy the canoe I'm going to use Google Maps, lest I get disoriented and discover America. We know a lot about that here.
1 hour ago, BreakBeatDJ said:I see how this plan will end. I'm sorry my friend. But don't worry, the MP search team will come and rescue you both. And then when we return, we will launch the first completely ball shaped full slip in a brand new premium line called . . . Wilson.
The only real question is which one is @Casiusco and which one is @Fortis93
I like this idea.
We're the three main characters in Jaws.

Rizz Master = Someone who is oozing "Rizz".
The "Rizz" being "charisma" (cha-RIS-ma).
Hope that clears it up for you, mate. 😄

Yeah, that movie looks great. A love letter to the city according to Allen. You have a good eye, that's Kodak 5222 BW. Amazing if well lit. Also used for the BW sequences of Momento. And I believe used as the base for the new large format (IMAX) BW stock that was created for Nolan to shoot the BW scenes in Oppenheimer IIRC.
Manhattan the movie? . . . maybe that's a convo for a DM. 🤔Oh, that's cool.
I didn't know that. The B&W cinematography in Oppenheimer was pretty eye-catching too.
As for the movie, I know what you mean. 😅
I appreciate that Allen was going for a sincere and romantic love story, but the relationship between him and a 17-year-old is a bit....you know.
I don't think it worked as well in that regard.

@Fortis93 do you like that movie? I know people hate it and it's not a very sensitive-to-other-cultures movie, which I am about, but I laugh my a$$ off at this movie.
Is that The Love Guru?
Honestly, mate, I haven't seen it yet. 😅
But, it's on my watch list.

Interesting. I know he's from the midwest, so I hear @Veum as the dad from A Christmas Story.
Everyone else on MP I hear with Morgan Freeman's voice.
Don't mind me. I'm just an Aussie who's seen too many American movies.
I'd love to have a speaking voice like Morgan Freeman's and a singing voice like Tom Jones. Like real soulful sh*t, you know?
I'm always fascinated by how varied American accents are. I remember watching this on Jimmy Kimmel, which I thought was pretty funny.
SpoilerAnd speaking of NY.
I finally got around to watching Manhattan a couple of days ago.
That's probably the coolest I've ever seen New York look in movies.

I don't know, my Southern Redneck is pretty suave!
I'm not going to lie.
In my head, I read @Veum's comments in a Texan cowboy accent. 😄

It also doesn't hurt that you're from Spain.
French and Spanish accents are supposed to be the sexiest, right? 😄

I just finished watching this. Interesting dude. I appreciate his honesty about what he was doing, and the reality of what his movies were. But, @Fortis93, why didn't he go independent? I mean, he loved the indy new wave directors, he was familiar with the concept, it seems like it would have occurred to him to do that. Any ideas? Was he addicted to stars and all the big toys only Hollywood could provide him? Was it personal? Did he have some kind of an existential crisis after Rollerball (beyond the legal issues). That is a remarkable string of hits he created, seems like someone would have given him a chance outside of the system. But, I'm not as familiar with him as you are.
I honestly don't know.
I think he mentioned in the video that he wanted to move to Europe and make movies there.
He was attached to direct this movie, but it fell through.
Maybe an independent studio wouldn't given him the budget or fee he wanted?
Maybe the smaller studios like Neon or A24 could give him a chance? Might be a long shot, but who knows?
