Donald Moffat aka Garry in John Carpenters The Thing , who has sadly passed away .....aged 87 after complications after a stroke... the way he delivered that classic line in the movie always sticks in my mind ... if you’re a fan then you know the one I mean ...... some may also remember him as the Android REM in Logan’s Run .....and the fictional President in Clear and Present Danger

I just read it ?.
I know his most iconic was Full Metal Jacket .
Yet from Sarge in Toy Story to the gravelly Police Captain in Se7en he made any movie more watchable and believable .

R Lee Ermey was the best. He was beyond fantastic in Full Metal Jacket. He took the Gunnery Sergeant character and turned it into a legendary cinematic character.
This is one of my favorite scenes from the film Full Metal Jacket:
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Did your parents have any children that lived?
Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, yes, sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: I bet they regret that. You're so ugly you could be a modern art masterpiece! What's your name fat body?
Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, Leonard Lawrence, sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Lawrence? Lawrence what... of Arabia?
