Alot of members have asked me over the last year or so continuously about posting something from my own collection .

Well i am not really a photographer so i tend to steer away from doing so but today i got a real nice edition from one of my favorite movies .

Everything shown in the pictures belong to the edition , except of course the MP Swag and the Steelbook Stand from one of Mantas releases , which by the way is really , really cool !!

I hope you can look through the mess in the room and just concentrate on this Gem .....

The item in the middle is a Transitional Lenticular.  I just am not good at capturing it.

The Glasses gives it a "nice touch"

Wow, what a beautiful release... so beautifully packaged! The gradient on the OC is just lovely, not to mention the specs...

I haven't heard of *The Last Emperor*; what's it like/what makes it such a special film for you? 🙂

I made a video of the Star Wars boxset!

In these clips, I tried to describe the planning and production process that went into making this release. The actual item in hand is amazing and hope you all will like it!

If you have any questions, I can address further in the comments here.

    GB is still live!!

Thanks for walking through these with us. What a perfect start to my day to watch these with a little bit of giddiness and excitement to go with my toast!

I don't think that I quite appreciated how much work goes into spot design before I saw these... bravo for such an amazing outcome 🙂

  3. I joined this GB this morning quite quickly after seeing it upon waking up, before I'd made up my mind on whether or not that I like the WEA design. Now that I've had some time to look at it, I'm so glad to have joined; how lovely is this! One of the nicest PET cases I've seen, and I love the gorgeous illustration by Orlando. With @ksosk's absolutely beautiful character illustrations for the CE Star Wars sets to this, I'm so happy to be in this period where we're seeing these lovely style of artworks being given such a beautiful context for sets such as these. Hurray!

Maybe if you want to count the...Disney 100 line. But we don't talk about those around here....lol.

I was just looking at those a few hours ago because I was in need of a giggle! Oh, Disney...

I don't see the lovely Zavvi 4K steels with the original poster artwork (besides ESB for some reason) becoming available again. At least they were common and aren't too expensive second-hand, I suppose...

  5. Ahh, the indecision is killing me! The lack of 4K is such a disappointment for me, so perhaps I should wait on Manta, but that's assuming that they will do a 4K edition and that they'll be able to make something as lovely as the lenti FS in this edition.

Does anybody know if the extended cut is available on disc anywhere? I only saw the original version in the cinema and getting the extended cut is a must for me, so if this release isn't extended and if there's a chance of a future edition having that cut then I'll definitely wait...

@piphany Bringing the convo here instead lolll. They need to do a premium for There Will Be Blood AND No Country For Old Men. I would be so freaking happy.

Appreciated! Totally... I could watch either of those films forever. Neither of them deserve their terribly ugly and unappealing marketing and physical releases. I'm pretty sure that they've both been scanned in 4K at some point, too, so who knows...

I don't understand why so few of Anderson's films exist in either good-looking premium packages or on 4KBD! Films like The Master are just begging for it, and there's surely no excuse for Licorice Pizza to only be released in HD in 2021...

No bother. I can wait... forever...

I understand those that don't want to blindly buy something that may not be to their liking, or want more info before jumping in.  I get it.

However, Creator Era is a new venture, and it won't be perfect out of the gate, and won't please everyone.  That's something I accept.

I see this as a process that we all can be a part of, giving constructive feedback to help craft a vision for CE releases.  Hopefully we will end up with, not just 3 or 4, but dozens of beautiful editions of movies we have a say in choosing, in formats we have a say in creating.  And with each release, the process and product will improve.

But that can't happen unless a bunch of members accept the compromises and jump in early with less than perfect, or incomplete, info.

I will definitely give my thoughts and preferences, and I'm sure everyone else will as well, as they should.  But, I'm willing to support the CE team blindly for a few titles, like a private GoFundMe, to see how this shakes out.  And I hope at least an additional 99 other members are too (judging by the Gladiator release, they are).

Honestly, I'm not so much of a Star Wars fan personally, and I don't even own the discs or the steelbooks to go into these slips, but you've absoutely convinced me here. C.E. is such a great little project, and I really want to support it as much as I can! It took me far too long, but I'm now down for a full trilogy (if it gets made) 😁 Thank you!

  8. This is really exciting!

I do wonder, though... how on *Earth* does one get custom designs approved by Disney? As much as I drool at the thought of beautiful cutsom-designed slips, perhaps with just the "Star Wars", "The Empire Strikes Back", "Return of the Jedi" logos, none of these episode numbers or subtitles... surely to get Disney of all companies to sign off on such a thing would be impossible?

  9. Thank you @extantsrevenge for this excellent idea! I can't wait for the lovely discussions that will surely come 😁

I was simply going to lament the fact that I'm going to lose this first challenge as I tend to avoid lentis just because the loss of vibrance and clarity rarely seems to justify to me personally what's often not the best design. But then I saw@Trianna/ @MoneySniper's pictures of that beautiful set of the amazing 君の名は, and then also @InfiniteDoors' beautiful copy of The Prestige, and now there's a nonzero chance that I'll own copies of these before this challenge ends... such beautiful presentation of such amazing art!

I like this idea, I also like what @Basil suggested with the different amounts for different packaging types. My thoughts would be 30$ non refundable VET for single slips, 70$ non refundable VET for OC with 2 slips & special editions like UHD CLUB & 100$ non refundable VET for OC with 3 slips. I believe this would drastically cut the number of people who pull disappearing acts. Also I’m not sure if it would be possible or just too much work, but I would like to float the idea that tiered members that have completed one full cycle with no delinquency’s be excluded from the VET.

Nicely put—I like that. Honestly the US$50 for the LotR VET really surprised me with how low the price was; I honestly expected at least five times that price!

Methinks such a proposed system would really slash non-payers, and the higher/more drastic that entrance price the more effective it'd potentially be. a), because of course there's lots more at stake if they do do a runner, and b), because if they've already paid a decent proportion of the cost there'd surely be a nicely reduced probability of them lacking the funds as that invoice would be quite a bit smaller. Or, mind, it could have no effect at all... people and their decisions with their money are famously a piece of cake to predict 😁
