I hope that they are getting better. Like I said- I like what they are trying to acieve with their releases. They just need to get a handle on Quality Control. ...And actually do a bit more than putting off-the shelf amarays into a custom slip. (Whenever I see lots of bric-a-brac with a release (mini film cans, framed pictures, etc.) I always see that as a misdirection to hide the fact that they can't make it more premium beyond the custom slip. I mean, even if your stuck with off the shelf amarays- maybe mix in a reversible amaray sleeve insert?!

I'd love to....but both Devil's Advocate and Nightmare box were incredibly bad in hand. I can't give Raro the benefit of the doubt right now.

plus- Blu ray and DVD discs, not 4K. and they aren;t even showing you the discs and media case. Based on the previous releases- it will be stock amaray from amazon italy.

I like what they are trying to do- but the previous releases say they are not ready for prime time yet.

Update: using my iPhone’s translator, the very last line on each disc reads, “Subtitles: Korean, English”

i have all three of those! Wow- for some reason I just assumed it was either Nova (I guess I wasn't paying attention)

If you are looking for a protector- I did the measurements and had Katana make one. (The measurements are  (L x H x W): 5.7375 x 7.125 x 2.837 inches | 146 x 181 x 72 mm)

It DOES happen, though. Remember the ARTHAUS titles like Donnie Darko box set (and steelbook), Outsiders box set, Reservoir Dogs box set. Those weren’t available anywhere but Koch/Plaion).

@deckard99- Since both can be ordered through Amazon.fr and FNAC maybe you shouldn't go through any trouble with the Plaion site with these.

I was concerned about the French title on the spine of CUTTHROAT (the Plaion German version was English)- but rumor is the French will be in English and that spine is just for the mock-up.

Thank you for looking into doing that, though! Much appreciated. (And I'm sure at some point soon there will be more PLAION titles that we WILL need a GB for!)

Yeah, that's the one. Apparently it is also rumored to be embossed. And it has the english title under the j card. (I think the french version of this only has french title)

(no worries on Wicker Man, or anything that can be sourced from the U.S. from another vendor. )

Any GBs coming for the Plaion releases? I remember there used to be a thread where we could request/get Koch (now Plaion) releases. (I was able to get a few Arthaus/Koch release here before)

I, too, am done with RARO. I am convinced that the low printrun is because you can only make so many of these, with two guys in a basement!

It should be worth no more than $100 (We paid $350+).

I was hoping the subpar job on DEVIL'S ADVOCATE was just growing pains. It isn't. This is just a case (my opinion, of course) of repackaging existing materials (the aforementioned 9.99 amarays) as cheaply as possible- and selling them as premium editions.

In all my years of collecting- this is easily the biggest waste of money I have ever experienced.

YesAsia Has two different gateways- one takes orders from the west and one does not.

Usually it will say at the top of the webpage if you are on the version of the site that does not ship to U.S.- then  prompts you to switch to the U.S. - friendly version.

the prices change accordingly when you switch
