  1. I do remember enjoying that series with my Dad (along with others he introduced to like The Munsters, Abbott & Costello, etc.), but it's been a long time since I've seen it to make a proper assessment.
  2. @Veum I certainly do recognise him. My Dad introduced me to the series when I was younger. He himself was first introduced to it through the reruns as well.
  3. Well, I'm not familiar with the comics, so I can't really say anything in that department. I'm a fan through the Fleischer cartoons and the films. I think what I really enjoy about the Richard Donner/Christopher Reeve Superman is the transplanting of the almost Frank Capra-esque idealistic protagonist into the cynical world/outlook that pervaded a lot of 1970s cinema and seeing how the character would fare within that framework. And it does with a lot of charm, sincerity and a lightness of touch that I think still works like gangbusters all these years later.
  4. Apparently, a re-release of Inception will take Tenet's original July 17th slot for its 10th anniversary and will include some sneak peaks of the films on WB's upcoming slate (WW84, Tenet, etc.)
  5. Yeah, I had a feeling it would be. Even though it's my most anticipated film of the year, I don't think I'd go see it straight away. I'd probably wait a week or two and see how things pan out with regards to the effect of the safety measures that will be put in place.
  6. For what's it worth, I quite like Man of Steel and thought Henry Cavill was shortchanged in the role in DC's rush to get the Justice League Universe going. I hope he gets another chance and this is coming from someone who's favourite Superman is still the one and only Christopher Reeve.
  7. Now I'll never look at our Coat of Arms the same way again.
  8. The sun's always welcome, but now that we're in winter, I certainly don't miss the heat. 😀
  9. Haha, it sure is, mate. And thanks for that. 😆 Good night to you. May a pretty, aerobic morning greet you upon waking.
  10. 🌄And good morning to all my psycho friends who need it now! 😉
  11. I used the email you provided to send in a list of suggestions: Bringing up Baby (1938) Beau Geste (1939) Arsenic & Old Lace (1944) Act of Violence (1949) Sergeant York (1941) Attack! (1956) The Desperate Hours (1955) Sergeant Rutledge (1960) H.M.S. Defiant (1962) Black Sunday (1977) The Ninth Configuration (1980) Prince of the City (1981) Fitzcarraldo (1982) The Hitcher (1986) @R1s1ngs0n This would be my actual Wish List.
  12. Oh, I know! I'm currently watching it (and a few others) on eBay.
  13. I also forgot to include A Matter Of Life And Death (1946) in my Wish List. 😅
  14. I would also have to watch The Island Of Lost Souls again to confirm it as a definite purchase though I do remember really digging it on first viewing.
  15. I only have a few Criterion releases due to how expensive they can be here. I own the following: Stagecoach (1939) Only Angel's Have Wings (1939) Foreign Correspondent (1940) Red River (1948) 3:10 To Yuma (1957) Harakiri (1962) Thief (1981) The Princess Bride (1987) I already own movies like 12 Angry Men, The Night of the Hunter, Paths of Glory and Fail Safe in other editions that I would also like to get in the Criterion Edition. There are a few I still want to get: City Lights (1931) The Great Dictator (1940) Sullivan's Travels (1941) To Be Or Not To Be (1943) Kiss Me Deadly (1955) Wild Strawberries (1957) Some Like It Hot (1959) I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978) Dreams (1990)
  16. I don't know why it popped into my head, but I would love to see John Frankenheimer's 'Black Sunday' (1977) get the Criterion treatment on blu-ray.
  17. Nah, mate. This is Collectible Chalk. There's a difference.
  18. The war between a ragtag crew of drained wallets and the army of Premium Collector's Editions rages on.
