  1. I also forgot to include A Matter Of Life And Death (1946) in my Wish List. 😅
  2. I would also have to watch The Island Of Lost Souls again to confirm it as a definite purchase though I do remember really digging it on first viewing.
  3. I only have a few Criterion releases due to how expensive they can be here. I own the following: Stagecoach (1939) Only Angel's Have Wings (1939) Foreign Correspondent (1940) Red River (1948) 3:10 To Yuma (1957) Harakiri (1962) Thief (1981) The Princess Bride (1987) I already own movies like 12 Angry Men, The Night of the Hunter, Paths of Glory and Fail Safe in other editions that I would also like to get in the Criterion Edition. There are a few I still want to get: City Lights (1931) The Great Dictator (1940) Sullivan's Travels (1941) To Be Or Not To Be (1943) Kiss Me Deadly (1955) Wild Strawberries (1957) Some Like It Hot (1959) I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978) Dreams (1990)
  4. I don't know why it popped into my head, but I would love to see John Frankenheimer's 'Black Sunday' (1977) get the Criterion treatment on blu-ray.
  5. Nah, mate. This is Collectible Chalk. There's a difference.
  6. The war between a ragtag crew of drained wallets and the army of Premium Collector's Editions rages on.
  7. Oh, right. Apologies. The mods can feel free to take it down if I'm going against any rule or policy here. I just thought I'd post it here for anyone who is interested.
  8. Did anyone here who ordered the Jaws 4K Collector's Edition Steelbook from Zavvi get the following message?
  9. Awesome list, but I believe The Duke himself directed The Alamo. 😉
  10. It's a tough call for me. I love both. I really hope it gets a Blu-ray upgrade though. I'd love to own it.
  11. Arsenic & Old Lace (1944) He Walked By Night (1948) The Night of the Hunter (1955) Peeping Tom (1960) Psycho (1960) Dirty Harry (1971) The Hitcher (1986) Manhunter (1986) Rampage (1987) The Silence of the Lambs (1991) Se7en (1995)
  12. I love that you gave a shout out to Peeping Tom. One of my favourites.
  13. And to spice things up a bit, a list of films that may be perhaps considered 'maligned' or 'underappreciated' from each filmmaker that I also love. 1. Insomnia 2. The Abyss 3. Amistad 4. Sergeant Rutledge 5. El Dorado 6. The Gold Rush 7. Duck, You Sucker! (A Fistful of Dynamite) 8. Sorcerer 9. You Can't Take It With You 10. Escape From L.A. 11. The Last Action Hero 12. Rope / Foreign Correspondent 13. Witness for the Prosecution
  14. I've made an attempt at deciding on my favourite films from each filmmaker, but have cheated a little bit. 1. The Dark Knight Trilogy (To me, it's one film) 2. Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3. Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade 4. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance 5. Red River / Rio Bravo 6. City Lights / The Great Dictator 7. For A Few Dollars More / The Good, The Bad & The Ugly 8. The Exorcist 9. It's a Wonderful Life 10. The Thing 11. Die Hard / Predator 12. Rear Window / North By Northwest 13. Stalag 17 / One Two Three
  15. Haha, I've been caught. I do like the three you mentioned, but like Scorsese (with Bringing Out the Dead being my favourite of his), whose work as a film historian and preservationist I really admire and respect, I think their general sensibilities and approach to directing don't speak to me as well as that of each of the aforementioned directors, but that's not to say they haven't made films that I love and would rank among my favourite films of all time (such as Kubrick's Paths of Glory).
  16. I don't think I'll be able to pick a favourite from each filmmaker, so I'll just list some of my favourite directors. In no particular order: Christopher Nolan James Cameron Steven Spielberg John Ford Howard Hawks Charles Chaplin Sergio Leone William Friedkin Frank Capra John Carpenter John McTiernan Alfred Hitchcock Billy Wilder
