And one for you.
We're talking about a german law.
Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz
Ich liebe die deutsche Sprache.
Sehr kurz und prägnant.

"...anyone who’s visited a Best Buy store location on a Tuesday recently will be all too aware..."
OK, I know Im from down under, but why could you can visit BB on Tuesday?
Is this some new American thing where only certain parts of a store open on a particular day of the week?
And does the rest of the world need to watch out for this new nefarious strategy to get us to buy things online?
We better keep an eye out.
JB Hi-Fi might bow out next. 😬

@Casiusco Here's your first German insult of the day:
Dünnbrettbohrer
It translates to "driller of thin planks".
It refers to someone who takes the easy way out and does the bare minimum...like some people. 😁

Well this one is probably going to be controversial, but I have always been partial to the posters created for the Star Wars Special Edition re-releases in the late 90's.
If George Lucas and Disney will only ever give us the Special Editions on disc, then at least give us steels with the matching art...
It's weird how we haven't had as much Star Wars premiums as we do Blade Runner/Spiderman/Superman/Batman premiums.

I miss browsing Best Buy for DVD's so much. Could spend hours walking those shelves. Seems odd to me they're ditching online sales too. Does it really make business sense to do so? I don't go to Best Buy for any other reason than to look at their now-fledgling, singular Blu-ray shelf.
This whole "Steaming good, physical media bad" is such a knee-jerk, short-sighted business decision.

that is true but disney is doing steels of loki and mandalorian so the tv series they seem to see potential in that so for me in those , i am very grateful
if they do well maybe that make them have a rethink on the steelbook front, we can only but hope 👍
If Disney took a long hard look at what their competitors are offering with physical media, they wouldn't need to be so risk-averse.
Physical media, especially physical media for beloved films still sell like hotcakes.
Even more so when proper effort has been put into them.

I don't support the filth either, but I see a big problem there. If we don't buy it, Disney will think that there is no need in the market and then they won't release anything in the future. If we buy it, nothing changes because it is sold. A vicious circle.
Disney sucht nach jeder Ausrede, um seine Hände von physischen Medien zu waschen.

If Kino Lorber ever released a steelbook for this movie, it would probably look like that.
And I would buy it.

Really cool idea for a thread.
These are ideas for custom steelbooks I've wanted to have designed (with some minor alterations like text removal, slight colour alterations, etc.):
For something like Jaws (BACK - FRONT):
For something like Dirty Harry (BACK - FRONT):
I have one for Sorcerer as well (BACK - FRONT):

Interesting! I hadn't heard about this. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Manta can bridge the divide. In the meantime, I'll pick up the regular release; gonna skip this steelbook on this one.
I've posted this elsewhere, but these are the unaltered designs he created:
I have a feeling people will be going the custom route with these designs.

I definitely would have preferred that!
There were some tensions/creative differences between the artist of that original poster (Tony Stella) and Disney.
He criticised them for tampering with his original designs of the poster.
He created quite a few designs that are head and shoulders above the artworks used for the physical releases so far.
I'm guessing that played a role in Disney ditching his commissioned pieces, which they probably paid good money for.
Either that, or Disney just wanted to create something "exclusive" that would "stand out" from what their competitors have released.

Looking at this, one might actually think its a good movie😄
I think this is maybe why Disney didn't use this artwork.
The posters tease a much better movie than what we got.
It would be false advertising. 😄

Yes, there are better motifs, for example the one from Wallmarkt, but I don't think it's that bad 😂
Disney beauftragte Tony Stella mit der Gestaltung der Plakate für den Film.

I didn't look through anything either - but I spontaneously thought of the "Everything everywhere..." Amaray UHD - I wanted to get it from the OC if it was on sale somewhere, since even the Amaray costs just under 30 dollars. It's available for 20 euros. Fits. 👍
Nothing for me.

@Fortis93 Elias, I’ve never heard of it, what does it look like? 🤔
Well, like Barbie, you had different kinds of Action Man figures (with vehicles).
They looked like this:
They also had 007 editions:
