OMG, I have noticed those "slashes" and wondered at first why those marks were even there. I'd go through a few Steelbooks on the shelf at BestBuy, to find a "perfect" condition Steelbook... and then it would have that damn slash! 😠

I get where you are coming from, I didn't really intend to open my OC, maybe just one of the slips to enjoy the movie in my setup. Better quality control would be expected for what are "premium products" from a company. If you pick up a Steelbook right off the shelf at BestBuy, then you would expect a few imperfections due to handling of said item; but in these cases quality should be expected to a high enough degree, especially when they're sealed in three layers of plastic 🎁 I really hope the other guys have had luck getting replacements 🙏

Thanks so much for the quick response John! Yes, if it works out let me know, I would gladly accept replacements. That scratch by the nose I didn't even notice in the first picture of the front, only in the second picture (different angle)... that scratch hit hard 💔

@deckard99 @Masterblaster @Intentcoin @Garypool In direct response to two of your situations. I got my OC opened today and I went through the "surgery" of getting all of the plastics slipped back and examined the Steelbooks. In my opinion I don't think they're as scratched up as @Intentcoin or @Garypool, but there is evidence of of very faint marks on them. I wasn't able to get them on my phone's camera. I'll post what mine turned out like. The first was the Double Lenticular Full Slip (BD). Besides that "hand print", there really isn't anything wrong with this Steelbook. See below, so far so good. Next I opened up the single Lenticular Full Slip (4K) and this was a different story. Same "hand print" on the front and the back of steelbook looks fine with the plastic on, but once it's off there are noticeable irregular scratch marks and some faint lines are seen (highlighted in red). I still don't think the scratches are as numerous as @Intentcoin and @Garypool however, but still an eyesore that they are there. What do you guys think? Are these worthy of being replaced? Definitely the second one has it's issues and the other faint lines I can't pick up on camera

I hope things work out for you! I got my OC out of the box, yet it is still sealed. I guess I should check out my steelbooks within the next week, but life has been so busy and now covid cases are rising all over again 😞 @deckard99 If my steelbooks end up being scratched once I check them out, can I still ask for replacements or is it too late?

Geez, I still have yet to open up my recent deliveries including Joker, I'll be sure to check out my steelbooks then too. Thanks for bringing this up @Intentcoin I hope things work out for you!

Exactly what I thought when that first set was released years ago, so disappointed that they didn't give it the proper Blu-ray treatment. I remember reading that they upgraded the quality for filming in the latter seasons of the show, hence Blu-rays were used, but they didn't go back and enhance the earlier seasons to match. I've been holding out that "proper" set would be released some day. 🙏 EDIT: Can we re-open this GB? I wasn't around when it happened! 😊 😊 😊 (I'm kidding, but I can wish!...)

@DodgyDave I completely understand how you feel about consistency, I usually hate when collectors editions for certain media are varied within the same publisher/ distributor. Thanks for the reply! Seems I helped stir up a ruckus too 😅 But I agree with all of the points made on both sides. I tend to value uniqueness and quality above all else. Even though I'm new-ish to the "premium" home movie scene, so far I've leaned towards Manta's products just by observing the quality of their later works.

@DodgyDave I think you've answered this before, but please refresh my memory. Why is it that you don't collect Manta, but wanted the edition from HDZeta instead? Or is it just that you already have the majority of your collection being HDZeta editions already? 😊 Curious

@StrikerEureka79 I thought about getting lights too, but I wasn't sure whether to use track lights. spot lights, or like the lights you'll be using. I'll be sure to give IKEA another look once we can all go back outside 😺 Be sure to post some pics whenever you get your whole setup done 😊

@StrikerEureka79 😄 Hilarious! I actually messaged Veum just yesterday asking about a display for his collection, so I am glad to see someone else was thinking the same thing 😊 I have been trying to gather ideas for my own setup to display my "stuff". I had a full reno job quoted at about $15,000 USD for custom shelving (sliding and closing wood and glass doors), new wiring, new lightning, new drywall 😅 But given the time and money, I may have to settle for something way more economical! The one problem I've had with cheaper shelves is that they sag over time under the weight of stuff put on them. I spent some time last year reinforcing and straightening out the existing shelves I have as a temporary solution, with long wood pieces and screws, and that has held up very well with weight. My one concern with going the IKEA route is the same problem with the shelves sagging... maybe I could replace the shelves at levels with solid wood or reinforce with steel rods 😵 I wish you luck with your setup @StrikerEureka79 be sure to post some updates, I'd be very interested in seeing it all.
