Since all the stuff with COVID-19 happened I honestly kinda stopped giving a whole lot of thought into upcoming releases because you know everything kept getting pushed back. For the sake of conversation though & off the top of my head I remember being greatly interested in Candyman Considering the original scared me as a kid I’m very curious to see if this new one can do the same. I’ve enjoyed everything from Jordan Peele so far, even though he is in the producing chair for this project. From what I’ve heard he was very involved in the creative process along with the Director Nia DaCosta. I’m not familiar with her work personally, but I watched a couple YouTubers speak very positively about her. Also the movie is starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II & I’m a fan. Army of the Dead This one is for Netflix & is directed by Zack Snyder. I think it’s supposed to be releasing either around Halloween or winter. I enjoyed his take on Dawn of the Dead so I’m excited to see what he has cooked up with this new project. Antebellum The reason I was most excited for this one is because of Janelle Monae’ I’m a fan of her film work & her music so when I heard she was starring in a horror film my reaction was “Hell Yeah!” Spiral: From the Book of Saw I haven’t finished the Saw series yet, but this movie caught my attention, because I heard Chris Rock came up with the idea. I like when artist decide to do something fresh & different. The results are often time very promising, so I’m going to knock the whole series out & wait for whenever this one is coming. Lastly I’m adding Antlers, & Sputnik to my list, I didn’t finish either trailer, because I prefer not to watch trailers until after I’ve seen a movie, because I’ve been spoiled to many times. With that said from what I did see both movies have big potential in my book. Thanks for sharing because I wasn’t aware of them. @RAK I don’t know why I feel like I didn’t already know you was a Horror fan. Either way good to see you in here! @Bones I never got to tell you congratulations on becoming a Premium Member, so Congratulations! Your contributions to this site is very much appreciated, & I can tell you will be a long lasting positive part of the community.

@Bones Oh it’s fine the thread was created to be consumed whenever. We appreciate you taking the time out to travel through. I noticed the positive reactions, thank you it helps validate that our post have been read. Krampus is on my to watch list so I will definitely be checking it out eventually. I did see Godzilla KOTM, & I thought it was bat $hit crazy in a positive way. Looking forward to when Godzilla Vs Kong is released. You’re right it is boring! If I was going to make a list of the worst movies I’ve seen 2019, I’m positive that it would make my number one spot. With all that said though I bought CineMuseum’s release of the movie because I really liked the artwork & thought it would look cool for display reasons 🤪🤪. Oh & I’m actually interested in the coming sequel, I want to know if the sequel can be any worse 🤪.

@Caktus26 Those are some solid picks, but you’re missing a lot of great titles. Not to mention there are a bunch more that fall into the category of the ones you’ve liked. When you have time start at the beginning of this thread (if you haven’t already) & read through the titles that me & @Veum watched last year Halloween season. I wrote reviews for what I watched, & there spoiler free. You may find even more to add to your list of liked horror.

Well you are giving your rating so that counts towards a review & My post are definitely review based. I think it’s fine where it’s currently at. This area doesn’t receive a lot of traffic, & I believe we can probably change that with tagging members. Once we delete all our banter posts I can tag members to get them aware of this thread. Then they can read through what we did last year.

@Nickyboy I haven’t done it yet, but from film fans that I already know that have already taken the steps always tell me a region free player is the way to go. I haven’t heard anything bad from doing so, & I believe the reason most film fans don’t go this route is because they don’t have to, because they mostly buy in state, & a lot of us didn’t realize the option was available. Welcome aboard Nickyboy you have definitely came to the right neighborhood. We have all kinds of different film fans here, who very much enjoy having healthy conversations about films. We can all agree & disagree & still be friends afterwards. As you comb through the neighborhood you will see all kinds of different banter. We get pretty silly here almost all the time, any reason to embrace the Psycho title we definitely indulge 😂. Welcome & always feel comfortable stopping by the English Room to chat about whatever. I think we moved another 3 or four pages & it was actually because of real conversation this time 😅. How is camping? Is it something you do often? One of my friends I grow up with says it’s fun. I’m a city kid so I’m use to experiencing Wood life only on television. @Basil Sounds like you’re upside down my friend @Fortis93 It’s always interesting hearing about others experience with weather. All my life I’ve experienced the constant change of weather so unconsciously I assume that’s everyone’s experience. It’s very good to be able to communicate with others from around the world. @xSNAKExPLISSKENx It’s been so long since I’ve read my Blade comics I actually don’t know which to recommend. I’ll have to go in me archive, revisit them & get back to you. I’ve heard nothing but positivity about American Vampire. I have It written down on my must read list. Lately my Hardcover & Omnibus collection has taken a back seat to all my premium buying. Once I get caught up on my movie collection (If such a thing is even possible 😅) then I’m going to be back to buying books like crazy. It seems like it has been an explosion of titles on hardcover so I can’t mess around to much. @Bones It’s a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, I knew we would cross paths eventually. I’ve seen a couple of your posts & knew you are a lover of Horror. It was only a matter of time under those circumstances, & I agree it’s definitely pleasant to be around like minded film fans. Fright Night is a great way to be introduced into Horror, I’ll say that was a very focused choice picking that title for the kids. @Grendel This is normally how I feel most comfortable ranking films. There is so many that fit more than one genre, on top of the fact that sometimes my ranking could end up the same for some movies even though they don’t match up quality wise. For example I like slashers & will grade them on an entertainment scale, but from a filmmaking perspective a lot of them are objectively bad. As far as which sub genre I like most, I don’t think I favor one over the other. Least not off the top of my head. I believe I like & dislike enough movies in the genre/sub genre that I can’t really call any favorites. My girlfriend on the other hand though definitely prefers Dark Fantasy. Just watched this last year for the first time. I plan to watch the sequels this upcoming Halloween season. So two is a thumbs down, but three brings it back home? I’ll keep all that in mind 😆 I haven’t seen this yet, but I’ve been hearing a lot about the remake, so I’m going to check both of them out this year. Dracula was a first time watch last year also. I plan to rewatch it again this 🧛‍♂️ @Bones My take on modern Horror is on one hand it’s an exciting time because the genre seems to be back on an upswing with exciting new director’s with fresh takes to showcase. On the other hand I don’t always enjoy the fresh takes, I appreciate them, but I’m not always having as much fun watching the new stuff. Sometimes I feel like I’m either watching something that is run of the mill or I’m watching something that is extremely going in the opposite direction. It’s fresh & interesting but not something to rewatch. I, like you, sometimes wonder if I’m wearing tinted glasses to the past, or Is my opinion tainted a little due to less exposure growing up. I with much to view, & with further discussions will figure it out. @romain I’ve heard good things about this show, but I can’t start a new show until I catch up with The Walking Dead. My mother & me was watching it together & I fell off due to being busy with work & other stuff. I can’t have her fussing at me if she finds out I started watching something new 😅. @xSNAKExPLISSKENx That’s a good sign, sounds like you have a potential little Horror fan on your hands. I appreciate the openness with discussion. Sometimes I run into film fans who only think of Horror in a singular manner overlooking all the layers the genre offers. Jump scares is definitely a tool that director’s should try & use less & less when it comes to modern film making. I get it, it’s a very effective tool to majority of film fans consuming mainstream horror. With that said constantly producing films using cheap techniques only hurts the genre in the long ran.

Not me! Just counting the Invoices from just this weekend I done paid close to $500 USD. I tell you what, it’s rough being a Psycho sometimes.
