Hopefully this release doesn't get the usual manta holiday season delay. also i have a question about manta: for example, there were 1,000 of the individual slips but still 600 OCs. Were only 400 individual slips sold, or are the slips in the OC not numbered?

The slips in the OC will be numbered #1 - #600.

The other 400 will be used for the singles.

For the same Money you get Manta or Blufans Discless with a WEA Steelbook shipped!

For me all this CE are to expensive and i don't realy like any of the releases so far. But that is my opinion. Happy for everybody that like it

For me it is extremely expensive regarding to a full- or lentislip with WEA-Steel and movie (Blufans or Manta for instance).

...not to forget the Star-Wars-editions (=> reputation)

apples vs. oranges - the ones I have are quite beautiful and they really are a category unto themselves. Of course it's up to each individual person to collect what they like.

Price is always higher with a small print run - ~100 copies vs. 2000 or more for Blufans makes a huge difference. If CE were able to make 2000 for Avatar the cost would be a lot lower.

Are there any prices (includig estimated shipping costs)? I still can't find them.

The slips are really great, but Creator Era has a reputation for being extremely expensive and I'm not willing to spend roundabout 100 Dollar (incl. shipping) for a slip without movies/steel/goodies.

So, no GB-participation without prices for me.

We don't have the retail price from CE yet. As for shipping we never really know it until we get invoiced by the retailer. For this and other reasons we only post retail prices in the release threads. - Ken

Cant they use promotional images as well?

Typically the studio will provide a set of artwork to the retailer for use. It does not necessarily include all promo images. The retailer will mock up the art for the entire release and then the studio will either approve or reject it. Rejections or partial rejections can lead to negotiations and sometimes lengthy delays.

I'm sure this will be another fantastic design to match the others in this series so far and I'm sure I'll be interested once those concepts and beauty shots drop, but I'd hoped/assumed the point of CE was to deliver premium quality slip treatment for releases that weren't ever likely to get that attention from other retailers? This is a brand new movie that already has confirmed premiums. I want to see more love for those movies that we likely all have in our collection but are just too old or not big enough to have received their own premium. Interest fades when it's an empty slip for a movie that has a full premium release with steelbook and extras at the same price.

@antiapathetic The problem is that lesser titles have not received enough support here on MP. 100 is the bare minimum, so when we only get 30-40 requests the math doesn't work. And even if we get to 100, the price is higher due to the small print run. Premium releases with much higher print runs are a lot cheaper to make (per copy) so the price can be lower. - Ken

More to the point can it still be fixed?

Eg extended edition added on to one's that don't have it so all the same still?

The production samples vary due to the studio’s decision to enforce the extended edition text after the first samples were already done. The final versions of all editions will have the extended edition text.

    hello there art lovers!,

     I'm new here,

for quite a while I've been in custom graphic designs and i make designs myself which in the coming future will be uploaded here to show.

I've recently decided to create Steelbooks by my own from scratch.

As a first step i literally started working on building a 3d model printed on a tin material with sizes and shapes as exactly as a Steelbook,

my initial delusional thought was that I thought it would be easy and results came in and was nothing to compare near a Steelbook

for the last few weeks i bust my a** to create a great Steelbook from 2 plates of tin and of course a spine,

all works was done in my friends business, he owns a successful printing house and has all required tools.

Also besides 3d industrial printers he also own a laser printer which will of course going to print my artworks on the Steelbook but that's not my issue here as the issue is building the 3d modeled Steelbook.

Unfortunately as of today nothing worked for me.

Therefore i think its the right place to ask for help,

does anyone here has knowledge on printing in 3d industrial printers and can guide me a bit?

those who wants to wish me to leave it and just to print on an existing Steelbook,
i would kindly refuse to it as i already have the required material's and tools for the printing to work, just need help by designing it accurately.

main example in what I'm having trouble with design is the curved shape sizes in the middle of the 2 plates to open the Steelbook. (Photo attached for example)

@Masterblaster or @ksosk may have some ideas.

There is an existing 1080p Blu-Ray Collector's Edition digipak for Avatar, and this just appears to be the same thing, but in 4K. I own that one, and I believe that also has 4 discs. The extended cuts were also included in that previous CE digipak, so if you wanted to order just the steelbook edition without double-dipping, you wouldn't be missing out on those extra cuts. So long as you already own the older edition. But it does appear that the Steelbook will not be including the extended cuts, which is a real bummer.

The new collectors edition appears to have some new special features though, if that’s important to some.

I thought that was likely from different companies. I was just wondering if I can get the same size for both of my Manta Labs (and if so, if anyone happens to know what that size might be?)

@Ron the best way is to measure each edition and then go to our section for MPCs and we have the measurements for each MPC there. If you just need just a few it’s best to combine them with your next hub GB order. You can request in the Club questions thread at that time

Hi Everyone! I was thinking about adding a protective sleeve to my order for this one. (I've got the lenticular box.) Has anyone done it already. If so, what size did you order? Thanks!

    Should be 1.85

I’d go with MPC-FS 2.30. It’s what we made available in the GB for the lenticular edition.
