That sounds cool, I love car shows. We are actually going up to Mammoth Cave, the world’s largest cave system. It’s near my hometown which, since you mention car shows, is the home of the Corvette. I have been to a lot of great car shows. Of course, the big event every year is the Corvette Homecoming, when people drive their Corvettes in from all over the country. But Bowling Green KY also used to be a big center for drag racing as well, and there are lots of non-Corvette car shows. There used to be a big event every year for Grand Nationals but I’m not sure if they’re still doing that.
Got any cars that you’re especially proud of? I only drive a Hyundai, sadly, because I’m a middle aged dad who needs a good warranty and good gas mileage. I recently sold the last fun car I had, a 2000 VW GTI VR6. Fun to drive, but it needs so much care that it’s like having an extra child.
I miss Bowling Green and Horse Cave! Went to school at Barren County High. I had 2 cars that I was proud of. I had 1970 Chevelle SS 454 Big Block and 1964 1/2 Mustang. Alas, once I moved around in the Military I couldn't keep them and had to sell them.

Wow, that literally hurt to read that. I sure hope you can find replacements, but there's nothing like the one's you held in your Cheeto's stained hands as a kid, right?
A not quite similar story for me, but with a happy ending . . . I'm also an avid Stamp collector (no, I'm not old 😆), my dad got me started when I was 5. My first real album was a Scott Liberty in two volumes. My sister used to go in to it and get mint stamps to send her postcards, etc. Bummed me out. So, when I was about 13 and had a pretty awesome/valuable collection, I went in the basement and hid it in the drop ceiling. I climbed up on a chair, and lifted a panel, then pushed both volumes to one side to hide it from my sister.Well, football season started, then school started, then I met a girl, and before you knew it I forgot where I put it. Then, one day, my dad comes home and says we're moving (it was a rental so it happened quickly). I tried to find it, but couldn't, I swear I looked everywhere, and no dice . . . and then we moved. I was pissed off.
Years later, like when I'm 35, my mom and I were driving by our old house (we'd moved to Florida) and I said, let's stop in, I want to see if they found my stamp collection. The people were really cool about it, I told them the story, they laughed. I went in to the basement, and the friggin first panel I lifted up, in the back corner by a non-structural wall, I saw the edge of the blue spine of the album. When I pushed to the side when I was 13, it had slid down a bit on the other side of the non-structural wall, so I couldn't see it when I was much shorter.
I couldn't believe it. Just crazy, 20 years later to have that back.
So, long story to say, I'm sorry you won't get your comics back @MikeH5856 my man. Although replacing them will be fun too, you get to relive buying them again.
There is nothing wrong with Stamp Collecting! I'm so glad you got it back. I collect a little of everything, so you have to enjoy what you love. I am so glad to your collection back!

Bummer! How did you make out with your other albums?
@nathan_s82 I was delinquent and didn't ask you how you did with RSD either! Sorry, man... I'm juggling too many plates right now.
I was able to get Malkfunkshun, Screaming Trees and Team Sleep which on the top of my list. I got there a little later than I wanted and was still number 42 in line.

It was fun texting across country hunting for records on record store day. Such a great vibe everywhere. I stood by a guy who came to visit from Michigan, ended up chatting for an hour about music. @nathan_s82 what is your experience when trying to talk about premium movie editions with the vinyl crowd. Year after year on RSD I try to find someone, and they are oblivious, and have never heard of FAC, HDZ, even steelbooks. I try to educate, but no one seems interested.I was talking to some people in the line, and ironically they were all there for Taylor Swift. I've tried discussing premiums, and it goes on deaf ears, lol. Especially when I talk about Mediabooks, UHD, HDZeta and Manta. But it was fun to talk to the newer generation of Vinyl Collectors to see what hey are into. Ironically, I learned about some Metal Music I need to listen to.

NOPE! LOL Not successful at all... I was only able to get to the store about 30 minutes before they handed out their stock lists to mark what we wanted, so I was at the tail end of the line, which wrapped around the block. There must have been a few hundred people ahead of me.
The Garbage album was the only thing I wanted, but it sounded like they only got a couple of them... Oh well. Hopefully it'll get an iTunes release soon. There's no way I'll be able to miss that one! 🤣
Congrats on the comics haul, man! Funny story (not really) -- my parents were hoarders and I had a long box of comics still in their basement that I'd been searching for after dad passed away back in September (mom predeceased him about 9 years ago). But it was so freaking cluttered, I was never able to locate it. We had the estate sale last week and guess what the sellers found?! I didn't even know about it until I saw photos online of all that they were selling and I was so freaking bummed/ticked off to see all my childhood classics up for grabs. All the issues sold, which I guess is good news (more for the estate sellers pockets than mine, of course... 😡), but man, seeing all the pictures of The Punisher comics I had worked so hard on putting together entire runs of as a teenager freaking hurt. So now I'm on the search to find a complete run of The Punisher Final Days event because I really want to revisit that now. 🤣
I'm sorry to hear that. As a comic collector myself, that hurts my heart seeing they get sold that way. That 80s/90s Punisher run was so good too.

Happy Monday All!
After long lines and standing in the Rain on Saturday, Record Store Day 2024 was a success this year. Thank you @BreakBeatDJ for trying to help me as well, you are such a good dude! Were you successful as well @MikeH5856? After RSD, hit up a local comic convention, and found some old 90s books, I need to fill holes in my collection.
Sunday was all about Volunteer work, making breakfast for over 600 people at our local church. I hope all of you have an amazing week!

🤠 Is there any Western aficionados here! 😯
The last photo of Buffalo Bill Cody taken outside his doctor’s office in Glenwood Springs Colorado 1917!! 🤩
William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody was born on February 26, 1846, in Iowa to Isaac and Mary Cody. As a young boy, Cody’s family moved to Kansas and became embroiled in the sectional conflict between Kansas and Missouri over the westward expansion of slavery. A proslavery advocate stabbed and wounded his father Isaac after he expressed his opposition against slavery. At this time, the Cody family’s future in Kansas seemed bleak and only worsened after the death of Isaac. With his father’s death, young William worked for the freighting firm of Rusell, Majors, and Wadell and traversed many of the trails across the Great Plains. He asserted he also served as a Pony Express rider. After serving in the Civil War as a member of the 7th Kansas Volunteer Cavalry, Cody married Louisa Frederici and moved back to Kansas to manage a hotel, which failed. His attempt to found a town also failed when he refused to offer the Kansas Pacific Railroad a portion of the sales of town lots. He earned his renowned nickname “Buffalo Bill” after resorting to work as a buffalo hunter for the Goddard Brothers to provide bison meat to the railroad crews laying the tracks through Kansas.
He later worked as a scout for the US Army, gaining national attention by serving at the Battle of Summit Springs in 1869 and becoming the subject of Ned Buntline’s dime-novel King of the Border Men. General Philip Sheridan recognized this prominence and often tasked him with serving as a guide for various hunting parties, including the famed bison hunt of Grand Duke Alexis in 1872. That same year, the army awarded Buffalo Bill the Medal of Honor. Even after becoming a stage actor, Buffalo Bill continued to serve as a scout. In 1877 he returned to the plains to join the US military response to the Battle of Little Bighorn. In that campaign he fought at the Battle of Warbonnet Creek, killed and scalped a Cheyenne warrior named Yellow Hair, and declared the scalp to be the “First Scalp for Custer.” The demands of being a celebrity and traveling with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West took a great toll on his marriage and his family. He filed for divorce in 1902, but the judge refused to grant the separation. Cody outlived three of his children, Orra, Kit, and Arta. Upon his death on January 10, 1917, he was survived by his wife and daughter Irma, who died during the flu epidemic of 1918. Louisa passed away in 1921.
I enjoy a good Western from time to time. Especially those that have John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Robert Duvall.

My son, now 13, just instinctively loves physical media. Especially vinyl, but discs as well. He goes further than I do; ever since he found my copies of the original Star Wars trilogy on VHS, that’s how he wants to watch them. I even try to talk him out of it! No dice. That is amazing, the next Generation of Physical Media Collectors! Our house is so bad (and it's my fault). We still do VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu-Ray/4K and Vinyl. I still have an 8-Track and Walkman as well, lol. One of my favorites is our 8MM Projector to watch old films on. The kids get a blast seeing movies on a sheet.

Anyone here watching Fallout yet? I’ve never played the game but I’m hearing good things about the show, and Walton Goggins is money in the bank as far as I’m concerned.
Not yet, we are finishing up Parasyte first, Fallout is next.
