I don’t know why I think everything’s Spectre but… Spectre?
Not Spectre either.

What a great survey of all these Bond titles. Thanks so much for doing this. And, the photos are big enough I can zoom in and really see them.
I'm curious, do you know the difference between the 2nd row Best Buy versions and the current offerings on Zavvi? Is it just gloss vs matte? It's a shame there hasn't been just one series for all these. I know it's an active series so would be hard to keep it current. Such great movies though.
I'm very intimate with the first 15 scripts. I was hired to write/direct a James Bond spoof by an advertising agency back in the late 90s, I had a month to write the script, so I was neck deep in these movies for while. It was fun, . . . actually it wasn't fun at all, it was hard as hell and I hated doing it. hahahahahaha, but I loved it when it was done!!!! It left me with a love for these movies though.
I'm probably gunna start grabbing the Best Buy versions, I like the vintage feel.
That is incredible to hear that you actually wrote and directed a Bond spoof! I am just a fan and a collector, so can't imagine all of the work involved in that, definitely requires a creative mind.
The 2nd row of Bond films from Best Buy are all gloss finish. So far I only have the Dr No steelbook from the new releases (rest I expect in next two weeks from dvdstore.it and I will post those when they arrive). The Dr No new release is matte, but not a streaky matte almost a shimmery matte and doesn't look that bad. The new releases are missing the 007 symbol on the front that the Best Buy ones had, the 007 on the spine is smaller on the new releases, the MGM logo is different, there is no Bluray emblem on the spine, and the artwork wraps around the spine. Inside is pretty much the same, although UK bluray is just plain blue. So as far as matching not great, but I guess we take what we can get. Feel free to let me know if any other questions anytime.

Poltergeist, The Exorcist, The Lost Boys, The Thing and Fright Night. 👌
I think this is easily CM's year.
Definitely a great year for CM for beauty shots. Have a long way to go to try to catch-up with all the planned releases. I am rooting for you CM!

You reckon it's worth the price given the quality of everything?
With Reddit code it's 12% off and with shipping total comes to $40 from Zavvi. The shipping was poor, was put in big box that came partly squashed with no padding, and it just kind of bounced back and forth in the box. Steelbook is weak but if Bond fan and collecting the rest it definitely beats the steelbook alone. So for price and extras, yeah I say worth it, although secure shipping is questionable as always with Zavvi.

Steelbook is matte although not streaky and the circles have a little shimmer to them. Have to say that although the steelbook title scenes are ok, I am pretty much done with title scenes after these last releases, and they really need to not make anymore slips with title scenes on them. This Dr. No slip is not terrible, but it is just lazy art that very few really ever asked for or wanted. Also, the slips artwork should have been on the steelbook.

No glossy steelbooks today. Dr. No is matte but not streaky, almost a shimmery matte in the red circles. The Thing TOC has matte background also not streaky with a great deal of spot gloss, and Fright Night is matte with some shimmer but definitely streaky matte. Haven't put the Dr No paper dragon tank together yet (not even sure I know how to 😄), but props on originality. Update: My kindergarten skills came back and it is complete.

what makes me laugh is i have never ever lost a wallet in my life and the biggest joke is i reckon will turn up in a box weeks down the line yet, when i dont need it.
problem is i could not leave it with all the money in there or risk of fraud/theft.
its like rock and a hard place.
the worse bit is bank have changed from 3 working days for new card to 5 working days.
and getting thru to the bank on the phone now took 40 minutes as well.
they must have cut there staff by alot, always answered before covid within 20 minutes.
they trying to push so much to the automated stuff online, which does not help when you have had not internet access.
but now im on 50MB line speed and price of that has come down as well to £23 a month for 18 months 😁
only down side you had to wait 5 working days for that to go live
basil
Man, sorry to hear that, never fun to lose a wallet and have to go through that process. Happy to hear that you are moved in now and will have a fast working internet soon.

We just invested in starlink satellite internet as a backup. Since it’s come online we’ve been in pretty good shape.
Been thinking about that, but they just put in fiber optic lines out at the street a few months ago. For now it is for some kind of business line only, but hoping within the next 2 years I will finally have high speed internet.

Yeah it seems so many things have gotten harder post covid. I can never get the cable internet company on the phone when we have a problem (which is often) and banks - forget it. It’s why I still keep my American Express. When I’ve lost that card they’ve replaced it overnight.
My options for internet were dsl and satellite, but this year lte became available. Lte at the start of the year was > 100 mbs, as more and more customers came it now runs about max 3 mbs. I couldn't believe it when I saw how low the speed changed.

Well, might as well get the guessing started. Have a 1/25 shot. You only Live Twice?

Nice! Yeah, my store has some but I don't have time to get down there. I'm not sure why I tried Amazon this time, oh well I guess I'll just have to be patient. It'll probably be damaged by the time I get it and sold out. 😂
I take that back. Sorry Best Buy. 😄Sounds like Amazon needs to get their act together in this case.
