  1. Challenge #34: Days of Future Past. Thanks @jwhitm3 for another great challenge! 1. Escape from New York: Released in 1981/Took place in 1997 2. Blade Runner: Released in 1982/Took place in 2019 3. Back to the Future Part II: Released in 1989/Took place partly in 2015. My favorite piece of future tech I wish we had is a hover board. I know we have a hover board right now, but I'm talking about the floating skateboards.
  2. Challenge #33: Intermission. Thanks to @ethnosax for the awesome challenge! 1. Seven Samurai: 207 minutes 2. The Godfather Part II: 200 minutes 3. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Extended Edition): 186 minutes 4. The Hobbit: And Unexpected Journey (Extended Edition): 182 minutes 5. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Extended Edition): 235 minutes
  3. Challenge #32: The Sticky End. Thanks to @Scary Hairfor this tough challenge! 1. The Godfather: Don Vito Corleone. Sad when he went. Fitting that he died playing with his grand kid as he was a family man. 2. Scarface: Tony Montana. For a fleeting moment I thought he would make it out alive, but too much coke and bullets. 3. Goodfellas: Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci). He was a terrible guy, but when I first saw this as a teen, I didn't expect him to get popped the way he did. 4. Casino: Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci). An even worse death than the character he played in Goodfellas, I can't think of a more scary way to go. 5. 300: Leonidas. It really made me sad to see him die, even though I knew it was coming. Ultimate Sticky: Avengers Endgame: Tony Stark. Only the second time I've cried during a movie death, (the other being Apollo Creed when I was 8). The whole sequence of events is a teer jerker.
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't those sets from Everything Blu, not Blufans? I remember when Everything Blu started selling those sets because it was right after I bought Shaun of the Dead from them. Great sets nonetheless!
  5. This week's pickups. Went a little crazy at Diabolik DVD. This puts me at 1034 4K's. @BreakBeatDJ Diabolik DVD is another good place for German releases, and all foreign releases for that matter. The Sadness is a German release.
  6. This is the reason I held off on buying 2 or 3 versions of part 4 and just bought the Amazon exclusive. I was hoping Nova would come through with something and they have. The 4k lenti's I have from them of the first three films are some of my favorite ones I have!
  7. Hi @extantsrevenge Here is my submission for the Lenticular Collector's Award!
  8. Challenge #31: Did that really happen? Thanks to @cypheria078 for the great challenge!
  9. I'm 100% certain that Shawshank will be a hinged wooden box as there have been plenty of pictures to verify this. I believe the Green Mile and King Kong will be hinged boxes as well.
  10. @extantsrevenge Here is my submission for the Steelbook Collector's Treasure Hunter Award! I decided to retake all my pictures, rather than using my old ones and adding new, mainly because I have added alot to the collection. This is all in 4k!
  11. @extantsrevenge Here is my submission for the Monster Award!
  12. Today's delivery: Arrival, One Click from WeET. Thanks to @Masterblasterand the crew for the group buy of this beautiful release, and the super low number! This is the lowest number I've ever received on a premium! This is a stellar release. My pictures don't do justice to the great One Click art. I'm not a Lenti or a Fullslip guy, whatever looks good looks good. But the Fullslips in this set are phenomenal. The art, embossing, and texture is something to see. I'm not a big fan of the Lenti, in fact I think the Lenti Magnet art was better overall. WeET is absolutely killing it. Seven years ago, if you would have asked me who was the best premium makers, I would have said Blufans and HDZeta hands down. Now, I believe Manta Lab and WeET are the clear top two choices, with UHD Club not far behind. Crazy how quickly things can change. #Teamopenitup
  13. Challenge #30: The Villains! Thanks to @extantsrevengefor this diabolical challenge. 5. Thanos- Expertly played by Josh Brolin, he is easily the best MCU villain. I like him because, like all good villains, he believes what he's doing is right. 4. Lee Woo-jin- Played by Yu Ji-tae. I don't think that there's ever been a more sinister plan devised in the history of movies. 3. Kevin- Played by James McAvoy. I'm still salty that McAvoy didn't win Best Actor for this role, which I consider to be right up there with the performance by Heath Ledger as one of the best villain performances ever. 2. The Joker- Played by Heath Ledger. The definitive Joker performance. Every reaction, word, and emotion was spot on. 1. Darth Vader- Played by David Prowse/Hayden Christiansen/James Earl Jones. The most iconic villain, in the most important trilogy in the history of movies. People sometimes forget how menacing and brutal the character was. I love ol Darth so much that I got this tattoo of him:
  14. Challenge #29! Thanks to @InfiniteDoorsfor the great challenge! 1. A Christmas Story 2. Cold Pursuit 3. Downsizing 4. Dracula Untold 5. Dumbo 6. Dunkirk 7. Crank 8. Crawl 9. Crazy Rich Asians 10. Criminal
  15. Ordered the one-click. This looks to be a beautiful edition. One of my big Group Buy regrets is not buying the Interstellar one click from Manta. Even though I have the great UHD Club version of Inception, I had to pull the trigger on this one!
  16. Today's delivery: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by HDZeta. Thanks to @Masterblasterand the crew for the Group Buy of this great edition! A few things about this set. 1. The Lenti only has the theatrical release on Bluray, while the Fullslip has the Extended Edition on 2 4k discs. 2. I am not a huge fan of the one-click box. While I like the feel of it, I expected something richer in texture and feel. The distressed look of it is not my cup of tea either. 3. I love the Steelbook, as the embossing on the title is great. Both slips are fantastic. The Lenti basically has three transitions and is pretty clear. It comes with a standard booklet. The Fullslip is beautiful and is my favorite of the two, with one of the best uses of embossing (the leaf) that I've seen. It comes with a thicker cardboard type book, almost like a children's book. Now on to the pictures! #Teamopenitup
