  1. Too much orange?!? This is a nice step up in the quality of the enclosures and Fullslip for Zavvi (since having True Romance in the summer). Still not perfect, but progress nonetheless. Looking forward to Basterds…!
  2. I’ll catch this bird for you, but it ain’t gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin’ bluegills and tommycods. Finally No.3 turned up today 🦈
  3. Psychos are raving about the Nova Grindhouse… here’s a clip of the awesome lenti 😁 (as hot as those girls in Death Proof are, it isn’t what it looks like in this vid ☺️) FullSizeRender.mov
  4. Wow, that looks amazing… I can’t wait 😍😍😍
  5. Great stuff. That OC eye will surely radiate with gloss and foil 😍 One Click: Scratch Resistance Coating, Spot Matte, Spot Glossy, Spot Foil, Embossing
  6. That was my first instinct too, but on reflection I think if any film(s) belong in the gutter of trashy picture this is it - Blu ray’s too good as well. A VHS 10th hand copy on an OLED is what’s needed. A nice steel and slip will be good enough for me 😎
  7. Does that mean there’ll be two number 1-600 for each slip in the world? Unless the OC ones have something to make them stand alone like OC599… I don’t yet have a OC you see.
  8. Can anyone tell me what happened on this day… 🤔 Batman? A scandal? A giveaway?
  9. When it comes to fronting up a shed load of money for a FS, it has to be right - and that looks incredibly right 😍
  10. So delighted that I like a lenti I want to share a moving picture of the moving picture…. (Compressed in mb, but still huge in footprint on this post… sorry) Nova Apoc.mp4
  11. NOVA MEDIA Full disclosure… I’m not a lenti kinda guy, BUT I really like this one. Another disclosure, this was direct rather than GB on this occasion. I’ve always adored the Durieux art and it does look grand with the metallic sheen on the steel - the embossed text is pinky. Rear, although not to everyone’s taste, is nice and high gloss compared to front, a more subtle gloss. I didn’t know some lentils come with a film on top, lol, double checked my others just in case. The last pic pre-unwrap was me thinking the lenti was chipped 😩 but a-okay 😎 But, do look out for imperfections on the steel. A few paint chips and a tiny scratch. Nothing major, mainly on the rear and for me not worth the hassle of returning. Expensive yes, but pleased to own it 👌
  12. I should have clarified for readers that I dilly dallied on the GB too long, then had to go direct. The release did get that unfortunate delay, but once in the hands of your hub master he/she will get in touch with you by pm to arrange forward transfer 👍
  13. Mine is currently processing at U.K. Customs, so hopefully with me by Saturday 🤞 Regards the expense raised by others, yes they are costly at first blush, but I don’t think Nova are testing the waters or being cheeky, it just is what it is to give them some margin. If they were testing waters, both editions are still freely available on their site today which would tell them it might have been a misstep. £75 is a lower end ‘normal priced slip’ mark up price on fleabay and more popular new slips in the early hundreds, so going direct made sense at preorder stage - and I really want that Durieux steel 😍
  14. great that these came out, and at a great price. I am ticked off however with the quality control on 2 with that line on the left and what looks to be cell dirt by the fin on the rear. At first blush I thought I’d received a scratched one, but same silly hair like mark on the Zavvi page… Kudos for getting 3 and revenge 😜
  15. Well, this is a nice surprise. Not a lot of info on CX out there, but a Scott Pilgrim unboxing seemed nice. Getting on FAC will be far too hard, so thumbs up to this as an alternative. Cheers! I like that @Scary Hairwas top of the GB list 😁
  16. A stunning result. The FS looks to be thicker than the lenti by quite a bit though. Why would that be - the fancy embossing can’t be that deep?
  17. I remember a time before the internet when there was much more time to enjoy bread and butter horror like these and Hammer 😄 and to a lesser extent in terms of what was on the 4 channels of U.K. tv the Universal monsters 👌 Enjoy your serials… with this phase of horror/murder you might even have time for the depravity of Eraserhead, lol
  18. You’ll be pleased to learn @Veum that PnP is an element of this, now purchased and ridiculously cheap from Amaz0n, a Spanish collection. No voy a tener miedo…! 👻🕷👀⚔️ Murders in the Rue Morgue - 1932 The Black Cat - 1934 The Raven - 1935 The Fall of the House of Usher - 1960 The Pit and the Pendulum - 1961 Tales of Terror - 1962 The Haunted Palace - 1963 Thanks for, ultimately, the subliminal encouragement… 😜
  19. Thanks for your research there @Veum, very kind. I now see Arrow did a Steelbook 🙂 A while back I was following old letters written by some greats like Price, Cushing, Sellers and Attenborough via Fleabay but never had courage to commit the £ 😆 Beddy byes time now, but will revisit fresh tomorrow… fondly reminded tonight of my liaison with Poe at school… 🙏
  20. @Veumthats a very nice sig change…. I don’t think I’ve seen the film, but will def look out for it for a rainy Sunday 👌
  21. I’m okay with this Turkish version they’re choosing and prefer it without the credits as it stands. Nay sayers might be surprised if it has some well worked em/debossing. I’d be interested in those psycho views once in hand. Once a Jaws nut always a Jaws nut regardless of the final final product. Yes there’re plenty of modern interpretations and I have several but they tend to be, in the main, quite busy looking for a small package.
