  1. I'm hoping the included digital codes will unlock the extended editions. If they do, I may just stick with those...unless Disney does something REALLY special for a physical media release of the Extended Editions. I already own the Extended Edition of Avatar 1 on Blu-ray, but I wouldn't say no to maybe a steelbook release of Avatar 1 if it include the extra 10 minutes of footage lol. Stupid Disney always milking me for my hard-earned money....
  2. Same! I'm not sure what they reasoning is behind this decision, but I would have expected one to be released at the same time as Avatar 2. So if we aren't seeing it now, we might not ever get one. I've been impressed with Walmart's Lenti editions, as I've picked up some of them. I couldn't find a decent picture of it yesterday and my Walmart app just had a placeholder with "Image Coming Soon," but I'm pretty sure I'll be picking it up as well because the one I did see looks pretty good. Wouldn't mind at all double-dipping on Avatar!
  3. That was my general understanding as well, although I'm holding onto a glimmer of hope that Bob Iger being back at the reins will mean a bigger emphasis on physical media. That's what he seemed to imply, anyway. But we shall wait and see how true to that Disney actually is.
  4. I pre-ordered both versions as well, though I'm disappointed there is no steelbook option for Avatar 1. And I'm still hoping for some premium editions to pop up, but knowing Disney....
  5. Glad to be of service! Demolition Man is definitely one of my favorite Sly movies as well. And I was also dumbfounded why GIFs suddenly stopped working for me as well. Thought it was just me. I was actually afraid to use this movie because so little of it takes place in 1996, but I saw some other "partially takes place in..." films, so I figured WTH lol. I was going to use it anyway because when I first began collecting films for this challenge, I misunderstood it to mean films which take place in the future beyond this year (2023). And I actually don't have any more films I could have used except possibly BTTF, which I was trying NOT to use because I figured everybody would be.
  6. I enjoy the Hobbit trilogy, but not nearly as much as LOTR! And I don’t care if I don’t have a premium release for Hobbit. I have the BB steelbook trilogy set that matches the LOTR set, which I'm satisfied with. But premiums of LOTR I must have. I'm sure you will get in for the trilogy. You're Gold and you're requesting all 3 editions, so I would think you'd be safe. Hopefully...lol
  7. I believe @Masterblaster already stated as much, which I took to mean that members who ordered the entire trilogy would win out over members who just wanted one or two of the three films. That's only if there isn't enough to go around, or if membership tiers come into play. Now what that means as far as "bundling," I couldn't say. The three editions may not all be released at the same time, and we will just get them as they ship.
  8. CHALLENGE 34 - Days of Future Past Demolition Man - Released in 1993, partially set in 1996. The Island - Released in 2005, set in 2019. A Quiet Place - Released in 2018, set in 2021. The tech invention I want and wish was real is Doc Brown's time machine. I mean, who doesn't wish they could go back in time and undo mistakes they've made in their past? And I have MANY lol.
  9. This is my current dilemma at the moment. On the one hand, it's LOTR so I'm definitely...most likely...probably gonna pull the trigger. On the other hand, I want to see the artwork choices and I have to like them lol. And even though I couldn't swing the HDZeta trilogy financially, I'm still mad at myself for not grabbing those. So this UHD trilogy would be redemption of a sort.... I don't want to be a responsible adult at a time like this lol.
  10. You can use the same form to request all three editions. You just select the first one using the radio buttons in the first list of options, and then use the dropdown menus under Edition 2 and/or Edition 3 to select the other films you want. If I'm understanding you correctly, you don't need to request each individual copy in its respective forum thread. One form should suffice for every edition you want
  11. While I applaud your commitment to this challenge by spending literally 15+ hours verifying your selections, I only have one thing to say to you regarding The Wolf of Wall Street...
  12. There are probably a few people who wouldn't blame you for falling asleep during Revenge of the Sith, but there's absolutely NO excuse for Harry Potter!
  13. CHALLENGE 33 ‐ INTERMISSION Thank you @ethnosax for another good challenge! I tried to do this one without any of the obvious contenders, but, alas, I don't own many films much longer than a couple of hours. Seems that's my limit for sitting still in one spot. The Wolf of Wall Street - 3 hours. Watchmen (Director's Cut) - 3 hours, 6 minutes. Kingdom of Heaven (Ultimate Edition) - 3 hours, 14 minutes. The Lord of the Rings: FOTR (Extended) - 3 hours, 48 minutes. The Lord of the Rings: ROTK (Extended) - 4 hours, 23 minutes. I don't usually walk out of a movie once it's started, even to the detriment of my full bladder. FOMO and all lol. This really sucks for the longer movies and my systems are usually a little off for a while after.
  14. By far, one of my most favorite creepy crawly movies! There have been a ton of knock-offs, but none near as good as the OG Arachnophobia. Took me forever to find a physical copy, too lol.
  15. CHALLENGE 32 - The Sticky End Thank you @Scary Hair for this most interesting of challenges! I had to think about this one for a few days, as I pored over my collection for some titles to satisfy the criteria. I chose two for each of your categories, and they are thus.... Protagonists Who Met an Unwelcome End Walter Chang (Tremors) - the affable shopkeeper was eaten alive from the bottom up by the Graboid. Dizzy Flores (Starship Troopers) - the girl-next-door, unrequited love interest of main character Johnny just couldn't catch a break. After finally getting together (romantically and carnally), she is brutally impaled by the Bugs shortly after. Antagonists Whose Sticky End Was Too Good For Them El Presidente de La Hermandad (Man On Fire) - this very deserving soul was blown apart by C4 explosives inserted directly into his ass for his role in the kidnapping and presumed murder of Pita Ramos. The Big Deadly Spider (Arachnophobia) - the creepiest of Creepy Crawlies was shot with a flaming arrow and then flung into its own egg sac where it was burned alive. And my favorite Sticky End is, of course, Walter Donovan in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I guess you could say he died of very rapid onset aging and then just seem to melt and waste away. At least that was how it seemed the first time I ever saw it. Used to give me nightmares for a while lol.
  16. Has there been a premium edition released for this film already? Wondering if I should hold out for a better release. Suppose I could just pre-order and then cancel if something else is announced....
  17. CHALLENGE 31 - Did That Really Happen? Thanks @cypheria078 for another great challenge! 300 - chronicles the Battle of Thermopylae, between the Greek city-state of Sparta and the Persian Empire. Deepwater Horizon - one of the worst oil spills in U.S. history occurred when the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded in the Gulf of Mexico in April 2010. Hacksaw Ridge - Conscientious Objector Desmond Doss served in WWII and earned the Congressional Medal of Honor without ever firing his weapon. Midway - the epic story of the WWII Battle of Midway. Remember the Titans - based on the real-life Virginia state football championship team from T.C. Williams High School in 1971.
  18. Challenge VILLAINS Thanks for another great challenge, Nils @extantsrevenge. Though we often hate them, root against them, and just downright wish they'd die sometimes, villains play an integral role in any movie. Without them, the protagonist of the film simply couldn't exist, for there would be no challenges to overcome and no reason to rise above themselves to be the heroes we all love. Here are five of my favorite villains, in no particular order.... 1. Darth Vader - the quintessential baddie we all grew up hating and maybe also being just a little afraid of...until we saw Empire. 2. The Meg - I love a good creature feature, and I love sharks. Doesn't matter of it's A-list or a real bomb, I love a good thriller that features my favorite marine killer. I've always considered The Meg to be Jaws 1.5...Jaws is the better movie, but The Meg brings it into the modern era. 3. Venom - Spiderman and Venom are one of my favorite hero/villain duos from when I was younger and really into collecting comics. Really enjoyed Tom Hardy in this role. 4. The Graboid - Tremors is another great creature feature that still stands the test of time. One of the best monster cult classics out there. 5. Freddy Krueger - still the only baddie that can scare me to this day! My favorite villain is a difficult toss-up between Vader and Freddy K. I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and I love the epic story of Luke vs Vader. But I'm also a sucker for a good fright, and Freddy still dishes that out even after all these years.
  19. These are beautiful editions! I found out about this set too late, so I missed out. Thanks for sharing!
