ANNOUNCEMENT

When I received the first batch of shipment, I realised that the one click boxset printing came out different from the one I wanted during

sample test prints.

What happened was that when the printing company reopened after the China lockdown, the chose the wrong setting and the spot uv print 

did not turn out as high as I wanted.

Because of that, I ordered for a reprint and held all shipments back. Therefore, only some stock were sent out including mine.

I spent many weeks sacrificing my nights after work to select each component for raised effect so I really couldn't accept what is produced at the moment.

Please kindly give us some time extension to get it ready and send out.

I will narrow down some titles from what you all have suggested. This is based on

• knowing some will be released by other retailers,
• some don't have WWA bare steels
• high chance of hitting a 100 orders

1. THE GODFATHER TRILOGY

There were past releases of the steelbook and most recently a new trilogy series that looks superb.

This is very high on my personal list too 😍

2. STAR WARS SERIES

This is based on the most recent UK steel series of all 9 movies. 

I have been considering this too and Star Wars art are generally easier to look impressive too. But, we will be in a dilemma of

how many films to go for.

3. PRINCESS BRIDE

This title is always mentioned everytime members make suggestions. There seems to be only 1 steelbook in the market, I think.

That means the chance of hitting 100 orders is probably very slim.

HOW?

Same goes for THE CROW ...

4. JOHN CARPENTER'S SERIES

This recent series of steelbooks with Matt Ferguson's art really has a strong potential for hitting the target.

I just hope our artist's art can complement the great art done by the wonderful Matt!

To answer some questions mentioned :

• Criterion Collection uses scanavo case which has the same dimension as their steelbook, so yes, a slip for CC titles is very possible.
• Everything Everywhere is a personal favourite release of mine but I know a retailer is planning something so we can leave this aside first.

I saw LUCY,  WATCHMEN  and  WAR OF THE WORLD mentioned.

These are some of my personal choices too!

I am surprised no STUDIO GHIBLI titles is brought up!

What I will suggest next is to open a GB for members to submit a form based on what is narrowed down to.

Those who sign up must buy the edition and the one to hit 100 orders will move on to the next stage.

Currently the big ones are all series so can we give it another day or two for everyone to shout out solo films?

The black box is not a OC box but just a thin carton box like a figurine box just to hold the 2 editions.

Yes for this first release the thickness is fixed. 

The eba thickness is fixed so it costs money to cut it. Going ahead in future we can change

I have to trouble @PIEKIMORO to translate!

We have a new product line for customised fullslip for bare WWA steelbooks that you may own.

This is our idea:

- members vote for titles they are willing to pay for a customised slip. 

- when we have 100 confirmed orders, we will launch a club for these members who paid to discuss about the design of the slips.

- thereafer, MP will get an artist to design the cover art.

- we will get to request for some adjustments and when it is finalised, we will discuss printing techniques for the fullslips.

Hope that this process will make the purchase more meaningful.

As the slips are professionally printed using commercial company, the minimum quantity we need to get the production started is 100.

As our first try, we did GLADIATOR!

This release comes in 2 editions to be sold as a bundle at USD110.

Slip will have spot gloss with embossing.

It is a hardbox design that is firm and sturdy, and includes a EVA form in the slip to protect the steelbook.

LENTICULAR EDITION

This will be a 3-sided lenticular slip. The lenticular is 3D only.

As you all can see, money has been invested to pay the artist to create the artworks and also both samples are made (including a lenti sample).

This is why this project is risky.

What if we succeed in reaching the minimum quantity?
Then CE line will belong to the members going forward!

We will open to vote for titles that you guys want and then a club will be started to gather all who will definitely buy an edition of the title.

Once we reached a minimum of 100 orders, we will start the designing phase. In this phase, members in the club get to google and show concept art that they like.

Eventually we will come to a compromise and then I will reach out to an artist to start a illustration draft.

After a few edits and discussion among all of us, we will finalise the artwork.

Next, I will step in to discuss the printing techniques to use for our design.

Anything that will raise the cost by alot I will voice out.

Hopefully, this will make the purchase more meaningful for all who ordered as you get to participate throughout the process.

the slips are for the wwa bare steelbooks that we bought in the past!

We will offer customised slips with professional commercial printing and special artist's illustrations.

However, commercial printing requires a minimum order of 100, we will need to reach that quota for the project to commence. 

GLADIATOR is a pre-selected title with artwork done and sample prints made.
