-Farewell my concubine by Chen Kaige (Criterion is releasing the first 4k restoration, not steel but a criterion standard package

 

-Perfect Days by Wim Wenders, also a Criterion 4k pack

 

-Past Lives by Celine Song (standard 4k pack)

 

-In the mood for love by Wong Kar Wai (Criterion 4K pack)

 

Come think of it, a series art house CE deluxe boxes for Criterion 4K packs instead of steels would be extraordinary, because there are so many amazing Criterion releases to celebrate with a CE box❤️🤩🫡

As someone who doesn’t collect CE but nevertheless follow closely their releases, I can say that although I do share some of the members’ qualms regarding CE’s signature style of artwork, calling it bad is a tad harsh.

I have no issue bluntly criticizing ‘art’ that is lazy or downright nonexistent (90% of WWA steels), but that is clearly not the case here.
The artist’s style may not be to everyone’s liking, but it can’t be denied he put time and effort into creating these visuals.

Putting myself in his shoes, I’m sure I’d take quite personally some of the comments posted here, even if there was no Ill intent behind them.

 

But mainly, I think this whole discussion stems from the fact that many members would rather have the option to buy just one slip instead of having to purchase a whole set which they are not entirely sold on.

Thank you for your understanding of CE. I agree that CE should provide more explanations on design ideas to eliminate some possible misunderstandings. As for the "Blade Runner," a total of three designers were involved in its production, and the designer who created FS B was asked to create in the style of mag. Therefore, the idea of replacing him is unfair and harsh. I appreciate the discussion, and I hope to see some specific and friendly comments, as this is not easy. The style of CE has been continuously adjusted to try to meet the needs of different members. The design of FS B is intended to match with mag, which is the original intention of the design. It is undeniable that there are also members who like and support the current form. Of course, we also welcome any constructive suggestions from members who frequently purchase CE, and we will seriously consider and make improvements. At the same time, we should be alert to avoid opinions that are not objective and generalize based on partial understanding of CE. Members who always buy CE should know that we have always tried to innovate to varying degrees in each product, and these efforts should be recognized. Blade Runner is an independent sub-series whose sizes do not adhere to the standard CE specifications, but instead resemble those of other brands, being smaller than the standard CE sizes.

This is a tough one for me.  I'm just not a poster guy.

The metal posters will be hung in a very convenient way, and each one will be a unique artwork, which will bring you more playability. Perhaps you will fall in love with collecting more metal posters, just like collecting discs.😉

The slot size of CE series slip is completely made according to the size of steelbook. This means that as long as your steelbook is of standard size or has no deformation, it should be able to be put in and out smoothly. At the same time, we will make the size of the slot more precise in the future, and make it more comfortable to put and take out the steelbook.

By the way, in order to prevent the slip from being flattened during transportation, an extra high-density sponge is stuffed in the  slot. You need to take it out and then put the steelbook in.

Dear Psychos,

 

This is the targeted #002 title. 

A New Hope has been mentioned frequently and there are two nice steels that I think many collectors own!

 

         and          

 

The advantage of choosing this title :

• the designer can draw an artwork for Episode IV - VI with a lower artist fee than 3 seperate projects so if the demand is there and we produce V and VI, it will help to reduce the cost
• Star Wars has a great potential for creating very beautiful illustrations

 

This is what will happen now.

As this is the actual first title under CE that members get involved from scratch, there will be no beautyshot before signing up.

 

• a GB will open for members to sign up. Once you do, you must definitely buy at least one copy (we will do only one edition)
• After that, you will be invited into a club where discussion of the style of art and references to existing artwork can be brought up.
• In the GB, we will also include the option to sign up for Episode V and VI (this will help me gauge if the trilogy project is possible)
• Since this will be truly customised, we will control the price of the edition (meaning anything that you want to add into the release that will push the cost up must be agreeable by the majority)
