Because he was notoriously butthurt about the rat at the end of "The Departed" and worked that into a whole monologue at the climax of "Clerks III". Come on, man, it's a movie forum. You're not supposed to ask about people's obscure references.

The film is a masterpiece, obviously, but I'm not sure about going for the full 4K upgrade unless there was some sort of premium release. It is Warner Bros., but they've never done premium with "The Departed". I'll keep on the lookout.

This steelbook is still really cool. I particularly like the back cover art giving the middle finger to Kevin Smith.

Yeah, I looked at the dimensions before ordering... but I forgot that manufacturers have recently been throwing out the universal measurement for width. I didn't even know it would have a sleeve. There are plenty of steelbook-sized cases out there, but now everybody is trying to fancy with it. And it's awesome! Collectors are gonna have some funny-looking bookcases in the future, though.

If anyone is thinking about sticking the digipack of "Avatar" into this case... I got mine and experimented with another Creator Era case.

The digipack comes in a beautiful hardback sleeve that replicates the art of the pack itself. With the sleeve, it doesn't fit in the case. Without, it fits perfectly... in height and depth! The pack is wider than a steelbook, so it sticks out a bit.

Keep all of that mind... or just get the steelbook, like they tell you to. The digipack still looks awesome, and I'm sure it will look awesome in this case.

My current Blu-Ray edition is too chunky to fit into this slip, but I'm still so excited to get it. It's such a work of art that I'll just have to display it somewhere. Can't wait! And I can't wait to see what's next for "Titanic" collector's editions!

To be honest, I took a long time to sign up for this one. I ultimately did, but after seeing that glow-in-the-dark embossment, I am officially stoked! Can't wait.

Pss... I just pre-ordered the digipack collector's edition to put in this slip. I think it's expected to be about the same dimension as a steelbook. It's all gonna be pretty anyway.

I got my DL yesterday! Holy cow, it so much more gorgeous and awesome than I anticipated! So worth the wait.

I would be very interested in revisiting this lovely film in the extended edition. But alas, I do not speak Korean... yet!

The 4K Blu-Ray was just announced for December! Steelbook could be just around the corner! Does 20th Century Fox still have international distribution, or is it Paramount? Either way, we could be looking at a boss premium release that I'll definitely get in on, as well.

But what will I put in the Creator slip? I knew going in on that chunky UK edition of the 3D Blu would come back to haunt me!

I haven't gotten anything from Film Vault yet, but they look like really high-quality sets. Certainly, the artwork is gorgeous. I can't wait to see this in action. Definitely no regrets on my UHD Club purchase for "Shawshank"... but, erm, I probably would have been content with saving some money on this. We'll see when I got the darn thing!

I must admit that, while I love the creative figurehead style, the front art initially threw me off. ...But seeing the detail and gloss, I don't know that I could be any more satisfied. And of course the lenticular back is a masterpiece. One of the best I've ever seen!

That would be fantastic! But I think Disney holds distribution now, and they're of course famously stuck-up on licensing to premium manufacturers. That they just now remastered "Avatar" in 4K is almost a miracle.

On sleeping on it, I further enjoy the exchange of the broad color palettes between the slips and the steels, particularly with the DL. It's a sort of cosmic and pulpy surrealism that I think suits the movie quite well.

The problem with these "EEAO" premiums has frankly been the lack of official art available. Manta has done something genuinely, hugely different. It may not be as picturesque as, say, the Nova releases, but there's a lot of interesting novelty and creativity in it. I look forward to putting some kind of custom set together, but, yes, I can totally see the disappointment in those who missed out on the Nova.
