I came home to two Full Slip pickups: A Brighter Summer Day steelbook by Nova. This movie completely moved me and I’m ecstatic to snag this release; and Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times by Plain Archive with scanavo case (I think it’s a scanavo). I love that Nova is continuing to give smaller movies premium releases.

It really is nice to see that. Seems like a big risk for them though.
I think if they’re alternating releases like this with Apocalypse Now and John Wick or the previous avengers releases, they should probably be okay. At least I hope!

I know they have done A Brighter Summer Day before but I am still pleasently surprised they are going for 3 arthouse films in a row.
Edit: For those who have never heard of this gem: On the BFI Critics list of greatest movies of all time it is ranked 24th. It's one of the best films ever made.
Brighter Summer Day should be here next week. And I think two more WKW movies after this one. Exciting to get some arthouse steelbooks as well. Nice to see nova diversifying their releases.

Ughhhh...definitely plan on getting the criterion WKW boxset and don’t want to double dip on any of the releases. This would be really tough if it was 4K
Going to sell my criterion of this, go for a full slip, and hopefully snag the box set during the 1/2 off sale. Happy to double dip. His movies have really moved me as of late.

Looks like a nice collection in the background.
Thanks
it’s come together nicely. And I’ve sort of settled into what I like to collect now too. No lenticulars, only quality made steelbooks and premium full slips unless it’s somehow a top ten movie for me, don’t become a completionist (could easily be a problem for me), though I wouldn’t mind all the mondos. Even with all that there are still so many! But with those parameters it’s become easier to pass on a great many releases.

I just received my Midsommar Steelbook from Amazon Japan. This wasn’t via a groupbuy but someone shared the Amazon link and I snagged it that moment. The slip is pretty good for being Amazon/nonpremium. I’ve been wanting this since I first saw it last year. I’m super stoked! I haven’t even rewatched the movie since I first saw it in theaters. I’ll have to wait for my day off.

Got my OC yesterday....jacket, box, full slip and steelbook are outstanding! Single lenti is good. The front of the double lenti is just OK...but the back is a blurry mess! Thought is was just my old eyes...but after opening still crappy. Had my son with his “young” 23 year old eyes have a look. He said the same. Very disappointed in the DL..Guess it’s going on eBay...I’ll replace it with my Nova lenti.
Welcome to team Fullslip 😈

@Christopher , your request for True Romance deluxe edition is currently sold out prior to your request, however it may come back in stock .
I had a suspicion but thought I would try at least! Thank you! I’ll cross my fingers

Almost gave me an heart attack @Christopher, as with your submission USA could jump to Number 1 (together with Germany) on our ranking.
But you only have 19 Editions, need 25.
Oh damn that’s right that’s what I missed!! Soon enough 😂

I want to say it’s because of the star and director. This movie used to be played and discussed so often and within the last five years it’s become almost verboten. BUT Brian Singer’s other movies just got lenticular releases from
zavvi and I think Bohemian Rhapsody had a premium. So I don’t know! Usually Suspects rules and I want a Steelbook to replace my old blu-ray.

Okay, so I bought Dirty Dancing as a blind buy from Best Buy, knowing only that Patrick Swayze is a mega watt movie star. What a friggin pleasant surprise!! This movie friggin rules!!! When he drops the famous line I legit got goosebumps and yelped. Nobody puts baby in the corner!!

Just stay Alert guys!! I’m pretty sure those will get something!! 😃😉😉
Hehe it’s fun and stressful. The store now ONLY lists the silver as an option for me - listed out of stock - though I have no idea on how you fancy tech folks operate the site 😂😂😂 I have a date in around 8 hours. Hope she understands me sneaking away to the bathroom often lol

It’s all good. Last year I was a regular member, and it took about 2 days to get to me, and was lucky that a platinum membership was still available. This is what I’m hoping for. Gold would be nice but silver sounds fantastic as well. Just want to contribute.

Just finished Brighter Summer Day
and now I just feel wrecked. I was moved from start to finish, though it took a couple days with that four hour run time. Might snag the Nova edition of it but I just need to stop crying first.
I think I know the answer, but tragedies about teenagers or kids just always mess me up so much more. Perhaps just the loss of innocence I suppose.

Fellow PNW! I’m near Bend, Oregon, which I believe in the MP community makes us practically neighbors. Welcome!

Of course your decision is based on your collecting goals. If you’re collecting because of the rarity of the items than HDZeta’s release of Interstellar is probably an item to keep. If you’re collecting just what you like & having a collection of Gladiator releases is more of a priority than I say make the trade. UHD Club’s release of Interstellar is amazing & more than enough if all you need is one copy of that movie. For what you will be getting it’s pretty close to an even exchange & all those releases have gone up in price on the aftermarket.Personal collecting goals exactly. I just traded my single lenti of Drive from manta for a sealed copy of the Mondo Drive. The manta might technically be worth more right now - and the Steelbook itself is gorgeous - but I’m looking for a complete Mondo collection, and lentis don’t quite do it for me. So for me it was an even trade.

Wish I had went with the fullslip over the double Lenti now. Especially judging by these pics. The middle one is...well, just not my thing! Guess its made for the ladys!
I actually was randomly awake and ordered the single lenti direct. Wasn’t super stoked by it and traded it with a guy for the Mondo! That FS though is stunning and the Steelbook itself 🤝

Where is the oddest place you’ve watched a movie?

I’m currently in a tent on a short bike backing trip and I’m watching The Maltese Falcon on my phone. This is definitely a unique spot. What about everyone else?
another example: they would do screening of films at the Hollywood cemetery. That was always a blast.
