Yep. This film, based on book of same name, is filmed now three times. Book is written by Väinö Linna based on his own experiences in the war. So truly based on true story - not fiction. All three movies are a bit different. Or a lot. This one is maybe the mildest towards the Russians because it was made in '55. Pretty soon after the war. Still it caused pretty much controversy.
