That’s awesome, I always liked the Zavvi ones and was sad when they were discontinued. This is going to be a great alternative!

Edit: I’m not to sure about the plaque with Grail on it though, seems to make the frame unnecessarily bigger..

I’d say no as a stand alone outing. For me it hugely depends on what the second half of the story is going to do. I read the book and loved it, which means I have a prejudiced view on the story and I find it really hard to judge Villeneuve’s version without having seen the full vision. I do think he’s been doing a good job so far though. Honestly I can write paragraphs about what I think of it and how it compares to the book etc. 
 

TDK is an amazing stand alone film. I actually saw that one before BB back when it came out. That did not bother me at all, made it easier since I hadn’t previously seen Katie Holmes as Rachel really, but that’s besides the point. The point is that viewed as a single outing, TDK is better imho. Viewed as part of the whole story is TBC.

I’m also somewhat disappointed in the steelbook design, at least for the front. The back is awesome, but the text always ruins it somewhat for me. Still have high hopes for this release though. Very excited for the slips!

Not having received an invite yet, is it safe to assume I’ve been passed over? I’m not certain what time zone you guys were referencing, but I believe it is January 31st everywhere now.

How quickly do you need a response after the invite is sent? Normally I can work very flexible but I have a *** meeting in the morning I can’t get out of, so I can’t stay up until 5am sadly😭 It’s 1am here now, so it’s getting quite tense for me.

Also with activity on the site, I'm fairly active - I do more reading than posting. I'm on here like I am in real life, unless I have something to say I won't tend to post something just for the sake of it. It's not a judgement on those who do - but I won't speak unless I tend to really enjoy a particular steelbook or to speculate on releases such as from Plain Archive. So although my post count isn't high, I feel like this sort of application is unfair to those who engage via reading and not actively posting enough. I feel you buddy. I’m exactly the same. I don’t tend to reply a lot, unless I can actually contribute something. I must say this thread was fun to play in though. But most of the time I don’t really count just adding a gif as a real reaction. Some will be like us, others prefer the all out response game. I don’t necessarily think it will be the number of responses that counts. But

I must also add I’m not an all out collector as some are. I go for release of movies I love or that are particularly beautiful. And it’s a very rare occasion when I go for an OC, so maybe if I’m dropped from gold, I’ll still be good. Really hoping to remain gold though, if only for the HDzeta gold lotr release list, would suck to drop down there😭

Yeah, it’s mind boggling to me how we, as a society, decided to start putting value in something as idiotic as NFT’s, but then again we do have a tendency to create bubble markets it seems. Looking at you real estate..

But if it’s happening anyhow, and it seems to be for some reason, and manta wants to give us some NFT with their release for no extra charge, since we all think it’s bull crap, that would be fine.

I think the biggest problem is that the above scenario seems fine if it makes no big difference at all, but if Manta NFT turns out to be valuable, they’ll notice that themselves and I would think that could drive up the price of their releases due to the NFT’s, which is the last thing most of the collectors give a rats arse about. Still they put out good steelbooks in limited numbers, so most of us will buy regardless of the new price and that’s the start of a rather stupid path to go down if you ask me right now.

Would it make much of a difference? Like is this a way for them to try and make more money or just a kind of extra/replacement of the stickers? I hold little faith for NFT’s overall, but if it doesn’t really change anything, than best case scenario it’ll become worth a lot of money, worst case scenario it’s just some bs with no value, but nothing much changes.
