Kindly note that this is a side project in collaboration with Creator Era to create a companion piece to MAG BR2049.

We will do an acrylic box too.

Acrylic box will contain 2 fullslips but currenly I can only reveal Fullslip A.

The rest of the beautyshots will be out in a few days.

    Cheers,

@antiapathetic The problem is that lesser titles have not received enough support here on MP. 100 is the bare minimum, so when we only get 30-40 requests the math doesn't work. And even if we get to 100, the price is higher due to the small print run. Premium releases with much higher print runs are a lot cheaper to make (per copy) so the price can be lower. - Ken

Oh I totally get the logistics of it all. I'm just trying to be engaged because I AM excited about CE and don't want to see these releases lose sight of what made the series so exciting in the first place. If CE just becomes a mirror of what the major retailers are doing, then what's the point beyond making a buck? Also not saying I have any issue with the titles being done so far, or a bigger current title making it into the queue now and then. I'm really excited about those in the lineup and I plan to go for them all at least into the foreseeable future! Only warning of the slippery slope including more and more titles like this could become. Of course if the series is successful in that way then I won't complain since the majority would seemingly be getting what they want. We can all pick and choose what to participate in. Seeing those titles like Spirited Away, Titanic, original SW, etc. that never got the premium treatment but are powerhouse movies is what draws me in though, rather than deciding if I want yet another slip of a movie that already has multiple.

If titles aren't receiving enough support then maybe there needs to be a push for more involvement of community members before they're selected? I know we have the thread going for people to throw out titles they'd like to see done, but I've not seen any kind of voting process or deeper discussion with the community beyond that before they get added to the master list. Is there an actual tally going of films being suggested? I'm imagining a process where members have a limited time window to throw out their top 3 picks for the next release. The top 2-3 from those suggestions are thrown into a poll, perhaps alongside whatever film the admin team behind CE has in mind, then as a community we have another window to vote on the next title. Rinse and repeat however often you want to be cranking these things out into the production queue. At least that way you have some foresight into engagement around a release and won't be putting the effort/resources into a design that ends up not taking off due to low numbers.

Sorry to be long-winded, and will move any other thoughts out of the Oppenheimer thread haha. Just excited to see more of these actually make it to production, and want to see more involvement from others too to help us get them there. PS I'll put my money where my mouth is and go finish joining the GB for the rest of those open ones with beauty shots available. I've been procrastinating on it 🙃

  3. I'm sure this will be another fantastic design to match the others in this series so far and I'm sure I'll be interested once those concepts and beauty shots drop, but I'd hoped/assumed the point of CE was to deliver premium quality slip treatment for releases that weren't ever likely to get that attention from other retailers? This is a brand new movie that already has confirmed premiums. I want to see more love for those movies that we likely all have in our collection but are just too old or not big enough to have received their own premium. Interest fades when it's an empty slip for a movie that has a full premium release with steelbook and extras at the same price.

Is it really necessary to tag every member for this? I assume the people that want updates will follow the thread, no?

It's a little self promotion I imagine. Since it's a new and more exclusive series separate from the major steelbook retailers I'm sure a lot of members aren't even aware it exists without getting the notification. Plus these are kind of crowdfunded and don't even get made unless 100+ people join the GB, so blasting everyone with the updates is more likely to attract attention and new buy-ins.

Could someone explain the One-Click edition and the slips for me? I have never bought one of these releases and can't tell if the One-Click comes with three copies of the steelbook or just one steelbook and three slips. As for the slips, are they just what they sound like and slip over the steelbook, and are the "lenticular" versions what I think of with the vertical lines and a shifting image depending on the viewing angle?

    Thanks for the help!

The One Click will contain all the different editions, each with their own copy of the steelbook. They are a decently weighted box that the steelbook and any other goodies (art books, character cards, etc) slip into. And yes, the lenticular editions are the shifting image cards used as the artwork on the front. A double lenticular will have that style on both the front and back of the slip case.

This is my very first group buy ever! Nervous and trying to read as much rules & FAQ's as possible so that I don't mess anything up. Fingers crossed!

Grats on the first GB! Hit that follow button in the club topics once you join (especially payment timeline) and just keep an eye on notifications, you'll be golden 🙌🏻

I think this hobby is a lot like owning a car. Once you're in, you're in for any long-term maintenance this hobby requires lol. Including finding room for all the shelf space our collections must inevitably annex.

That's very true lol. But when I get to go directly to the manufacturer and say "Hey, know what would actually work much better for me on this model...", then I'm definitely going to take that opportunity.

I know everybody seems to not be a fan of the size of these CE slips, but after the release of Gladiator, I think it would do more damage than not to change them now. I feel like the entire line should be consistently one size. Just my opinion.

I, for one, am definitely okay with how these slips are shaking out. But that could be just me lol.

I definitely agree keep the size the same for any further Star Wars releases to keep continuity, but holy hell these are going to take up shelf real estate so fast if we keep doing this size. It's my ONLY disappointment with this CE series so far that this size was settled on at all. There's just no need for them to be so big since the foam could be cut down 50% and they'd still be accessible and plenty protected. As nice as them all matching would be they already stand out sorely against all the other standard sized slips and even OC boxes. JUST the SW set would take up an entire shelf. I'm going to keep buying regardless because the quality and art has been fantastic, but I have NO idea where I'm going to put them 😆 Not the first time I've brought up size, but know I'm not the only one concerned with space long term. The quicker it could potentially be adjusted for further releases the less out of sync the collection will look. I really think we need a vote on it before the next one.

  9. Haven't tried fitting any steels in mine yet. They look fantastic in person! Very happy with how the designs turned out 😍 But do have to say ideally I'd love to see future releases scaled down to align closer to a standard full slip. They are huge! Maybe something spaced to fit a steel in a PET protector to help avoid any damage. That much foam seems a bit overkill, and like some are mentioning, an issue for inserting and removing the steel comfortably. Regardless, super excited to see what else this series rolls out!

  10. Challenge #12 (amended!)

So after browsing more posts for this week's challenge I realized the instructions were 3 movies from 3 different directors EACH. Should have known it wouldn't be that easy. I spent the past 2 weeks in the Carriebean so i blame my sun-friend brain for this one. Here is my fixed post before time runs out and daddy @extantsrevenge comes around to yell at my failures. 🥺

    1. Peter Jackson - Simply for giving us the trilogy in about as flawless and timeless a form as it could have been (imo). And because Tolkien is love, LOTR is life 💚

    2. Denis Villeneuve - I'm just loving his style so far and always look forward to seeing what's next.

    3. Tarantino - Not much needing to be said here. Seems to be a very popular one this challenge!

  11. Challenge #12

I've never been particularly loyal to any directors. Everyone has hits and misses. But here's a list of some that probably fall near the top.

    2. Denis Villeneuve - I'm just loving his style so far and always look forward to seeing what's next.
