Thank you all for the warm welcomes; I already feel like I belong here. I've been scouring the internet for all the sites that print these collector edition sets. It all started about 15 years ago when I first tripped on mushrooms and watched "2001: A Space Odyssey." It’s become a ritual for me to watch the Odyssey on a serious trip when i need to figure something out, and the movie just gets better each time. Over the years, I've discovered different works of art that enhance the experience, and I haven't missed yet. Among my friends, I've become the Curator/Master, the go-to person for a great trip with a perfect film selection.
I always emphasize to my friends the importance of collecting physical media before it's gone. I've even convinced some to get the last 4K player that Samsung ever released. I met my wife four years ago, and she wouldn't stop talking about how much she loved the Blue Danube and space. I checked multiple times to see if she genuinely liked Strauss and space before introducing her to "2001: A Space Odyssey" on a trip. I didn't spoil it for her at all, and she found the sequence between the planets and the technology communication to be the most romantic thing ever. We tripped a few more times, and I showed her more pieces, never missing the mark with her either. When we briefly broke up, she even got the exact setup I had with my TV, sound system, and the Samsung player. She tried to buy the movies I had, but they were $100 and up, unlike when I got them for much less while collecting.
That's when I realized I have a knack for picking films that are high art. My collection has grown, and I buy multiples to give away, always keeping 2 or 3 sealed. To me, these films are a store of value, and time is proving me right.
At this point, I'm obsessed with collecting works of art on film, especially "2001: A Space Odyssey," but I do have other pieces as well. I ended up here because of the "2001: Space Odyssey World Cinema Edition." I keep finding different sites for these treasures. Thank you again for the welcomes, and sorry for the long story. Maybe this is the only place where it would be appreciated.
Now, I have a lot of these collector's editions, and I recently found out they sell frames for them. Now I want to display them all on my wall. 😆
so far im looking into frames fro the steel boxes and protective cases. Thank you guys again.
