Hi there. As this is my first group buy, and I am trying to understand how this all works, can I assume there are still group buy members who have not yet been invoiced because the product hasn't reached the specific HUB?

Following the Threads & keeping up with the Group Buys you joined is apart of the process. It’s unfortunate that you joined before & missed the message that there was going to be a new Group Buy for this release. Take this situation as a learning experience, you shouldn’t just join Group Buys if you can’t find the time to stay updated with news of said Group Buys.
 

There are a lot of different situations that affect the release of a title & it’s important that members take responsibility for checking in from time to time because we post updates & notes for releases all around the site. Please in the future make sure you follow the release threads & Info/Questions area for whatever Group Buys you join, because it’s very important to us that copies are secured for members. We don’t like not being able to acquire the items our members are seeking out.

Sure, agreed this is a learning experience, but I am not going to be happy about it nor am I going to shoulder the entire blame for it. There is no indication in the rules that a GB can be suddenly canceled and a new list created, which is why I asked originally if that is a common experience here. The closest the rules touch on this is that the cancelling of the GB is a very rare event due to the release being canceled or short supply and the general statement that there is no 100% guarantee that a person joining a group buy will actually obtain the item. Okay, I don't want to drag this out any longer because I'm just spinning wheels now and it serves no purpose. If anybody obtains an extra of this and wants to sell it, please PM me. End rant.

Sometimes things don't go as planned in this case the GB had been open for way too long and instead of dealing with a bunch of no shows they decided to close it and open a new one. It sucks that you missed out but that's why you need to be on top of things and staying up to date with any news on the threads you follow. 

 

if you contact the appropriate people ( @ksosk or @Masterblaster ) I'm sure they'll refund you your deposit. 

Unfortunately, the current real-world COVID-19 scenario does not afford me the time to actively monitor this thread, and besides, I trusted the process as it was laid out a year ago. Your response suggests that a person cannot simply rely on the process as it is laid out. Thanks for the warning.

I did sign up for the group buy, and I paid my deposit a year ago. However, it appears that the group buy for this release was "re-posted" and this somehow negates the entirety of the prior group buy (and my deposit) and starts anew? Is that how it normally works here? I did what I was supposed to do, which is why I don't understand this process. And if I am out, why isn't somebody refunding me my deposit? I am not trying to be difficult here, I just am trying to figure out why this isn't proceeding as was indicated when I did what I was supposed to do a year ago.

Hi. I am sorry but for some reason, I didn't get notice. I definitely want one. I paid the required deposit as a new member to get one (actually, to get two when it appeared there were two editions). Am I out of luck now? I don't understand this process. Can you confirm that I am in or out?
