Hi Folks!

So this evening, I thought I'd post another selection of Anime.

Yes, the 'Universal' Post is coming, I'm taking the easy route tonight though.

So I'm sure many are familiar with the Studio Ghibli. They have brought many iconic anime films to both big screens and television screens.

I don't have them ALL, but I do have a few nice selections I thought I'd display. 🙂

Studio Ghibli:

- Nausicaa: Of The Valley Of The Wind

- Kiki's Delivery Service

- Hayao Miyazaki Collected Works (Disney, Box Set) [we'll come back to this, below]

- Castle In The Sky

- The Cat Returns

- The Secret World Of Arrietty

- The Wing Rises

- Tales From Earthsea

- From Up On Poppy Hill

- My Neighbor Totoro

- Whisper Of The Heart

- When Marnie Was There

The H.M. Box Set has some of the same films as my singles displayed.

So, my Daughter and Grand-daughter will shortly be receiving most of the singles, to compliment many I've already sent them.

Hayao Miyazaki Collected Works (Disney, Box Set) includes 11 films;

   - Lupin The Third: The Castle Of Cagliosto

   - Nausicaa: Of The Valley Of The Wind

   - Castle In The Sky

   - My Neighbor Totoro

   - Kiki's Delivery Service

   - Porco Rosso

   - Princess Mononoke

   - Spirited Away

   - Howl's Moving Castle

   - Ponyo

   - The Wind Rises

    - Many Extras!

Cheers! 😀

Gooood EEEvening ! (How's my Hungarian lilt? heh).  🧛‍♂️

So, yes, it's time to start putting up some pics of my Universal's Monsters Collection.

I think the best way to do this, will be in Phases (works for Marvel).

so the 1st Phase will be dedicated to the original "Golden Era", the films of which I'm sure most are familiar with.

From Phantom of the Opera up to and including Creature From The Black Lagoon.

Although the version of PotO we are familiar with was released in 1925 and The Hunchback Of Notre Dame was released in 1923,

PotO was actually first filmed in 1918 and parts of it remain in the classic, so we'll count it as first. 😉

I also should mention, still no Blu-ray for the 1932 Fredric March version of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde for some bizarre reason.

Also, it is in fact a Warner Bros, Film! and is only included here because, I wanted to. 🙂

and I've stayed with Blus, with only 2 notable exceptions (which will be explained).

Also, along the top, I've arranged the Sideshow 12" boxed figures of the main characters.

Others exist but they did not appeal to me, considering price and pose (i.e. The Werewolf of London: Henry Hull as wolf, in smoking jacket!)

So snuggle up to your rat, bat or wolf and let's dive in!

Phase 1: (The Golden Era)

Figures; (Box Art is of the Original Theatre Posters)

- Phantom Of The Opera - (1925, Lon Chaney: Star)

- The Hunchback Of Notre Dame - (1923, Lon Chaney, Star)

- Dracula - (1931, Bela Lugosi: Star)

- Frankenstein - (1931, Boris Karloff [William Pratt]: Star)

- The Mummy - (1932, Boris karloff: Star)

- Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde - (1932, Fredrich March, Star, Studio: Warner Bros.)

- The Invisible Man - (1933, Claude Rains: Star)

- The Wolf Man - (1941, Lon Chaney Jr: Star)

- The Creature From The Black Lagoon - (1954, Ricou Browning [Gill Man in water]& Ben Chapman [Gill Man on land]: Stars)

Films;

- Alex Ross SteelBook Collection, Box Set: (Includes; Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, Bride Of Frankenstein, The Wolfman, Creature ft Black Lagoon)

- Dracula Legacy Collection: (Includes; Dracula Eng + Span, Dracula's Daughter 1931, Son Of Dracula 1943, House Of Frankenstein 1944, House Of Dracula 1945, Abbott & Costello meet Frankensein 1948)

- The Wolf Man Legacy Collection: (Includes; Wolf Man 1941, Werewolf Of London 1935, She-Wolf Of London 1946, + 4 films from Frankenstein set (easy to guess which...)

- The Creature From The Black Lagoon Legacy Collection: (Includes; Creature from the Black Lagoon 1954 (+3D), Revenge of the Creature 1955 (+3D), Creature Walks Among Us 1956

- Universal Monsters Essential Collection {Coffin Box}: (Includes; Same as Alex Ross set + Phantom Of The Opera 1943 with Claude Rains as Phantom)

(These are being released in 2019 by Universal in Blu-ray sets!)

Since I enjoy mixing it up, I thought I'd post a similarly themed collection but with Anime shows.

I selected "Vampires" as a theme. :vamp:
There are quite a few in the wild but I'm pretty selective. Considering "Black Blood Bros." next and I've been flipping a coin on "Seraph Of The End: Vampire Reign" for almost a year! (I'll probably bite... image.gif.c62f06d0438b8191416d0d50d6911449.gif)

Anyway, the few i do have;
- Blood: The Last Vampire (2000)
- Blood+ Box 1 (2005)
- Blood+ Box 2 (2006)
- Blood C (2011)
- Blood 😄 The Last Dark (2012)
- Blood: The Last Vampire L.A. Film (2009) {I very much enjoyed most of this!}

- Dance In The Vampire Bund (2010)
- Trinity Blood (2005)
- Vampire Hunter D (1985)
- Vampire HunterD : Bloodlust (Spec Ed.) (2000)

Honorable Mention:
- Castlevania S-1
(2017) [Spec ed coming to AtA and Zavvi]

^^ TYVM for the warm compliments @extantsrevenge !

In the "Classics" pic, (which took about two hours to put together then write the post, heh) one of the more difficult Blu-ray sets to obtain, was the Gray "Tombstone Box Set" in the centre.

I bought it off Amz.fr a couple of years ago.
As I mention in the write-up above the pic, it contains all the "Universal Studios" Dracula titled films (not including sequels, 5 total) they made.

It's very cool.

In the Anime pic just above, those Blood+ sets will cost you a kidney, each, to buy today. 🤯

I almost included the film "Priest" ( absolutely love that film!) which as most know, was also based on a manga but i thought that might be stretching the connection.

Besides, I'll still be able to show it when i do my Live Action "Vampires" post, heh heh. 😉

Cheers All! 🤗

So, wrt Hellsing;

Not everyone is an anime fan, I acknowledge that but I suspect everyone appreciates seeing pics of a very limited edition?

If so, you might find this worth a quick view...🙂

WeET Hellsing Ultimate Box Set:

This has been a 'Grail Piece' for me for almost 2 years.

image.thumb.jpeg.e9e4b5d2072e019c21efa7b95d9d0e46.jpeg

note:

1. the item with the reflection is the PET slip for the 2 box sets

2. the black strip above ep. IX is actually a film strip inside a bookmark.

Good Evening;

So, I think I've selected my next theme to present in pics.

I'm leaning toward "Medieval Horror" (well, pre-19th Century, at any rate).

Think, the witch trials, the Inquisition, the horror of war (not necessarily a 'war' film, mind).

Let's see what I can dig up, shall we?

Oh, and no, will not include "Pulp Fiction" 😛 no matter what Ving Rhames says!

After that, a much loved topic, Sword and Sandal !

🙂

Good Evening Psychos!

So as mentioned, I've selected Medieval Horror as the theme for this evenings presentation.

I have a few others but my back is absolutely murdering me this eve so called off the search after I filled the table.

There are some dvds here, simply because the Blu editions I have are part of box-sets and I didn't think you would be too enthused just to see a disc on the table...🙂

Also, I tried to stay away from 'dark fantasy' and just display possible real life events (though some are obviously questionable, in that regard, heh).

Plus, dark fantasy (being one of my fave genres) would have filled my floor, not just the table, heh.

I think all the titles are pretty legible so won't preclude the pic with a listing.

If any have queries wrt one though, feel free to ask!

Pic time!

Dang 'edit' time lapse;

-Brotherhood of the Wolf and Flesh and Blood are indeed Blus btw. Scanovo cases though so larger than normal amarays. 🙂

Also, I have two copies of Solomon Kane (Metalpack) and stuck a Blu in this one. The art is FAR better than the offered Blu Metalpack.

The Blu for "Blood On Satan's Claw" is only a couple of weeks away!!!🤗

- Inside contents

Finally, my Suspiria collection;

Hi Folks;

Yes, I'm terribly aware it's been quite some time since I posted pics here.

Though I still intend on doing a "Sword and Sandal" pic soon, I wanted to slip this one in frst.

I have great affection for the incredible films produced in Asian countries and after receiving a couple of new ones today,

I thought it time to post a pic of some of my faves.

I say "some" because I have a few more, heh.

Hi Folks;

I'm LONG overdue for posting some pics in here so I thought I'd start with one of the nicest new editions in my entire collection;

Game Of Thrones: Complete Series, Premium Edition.

To give you an idea of the huge size to this set, 1st pic shows a normal slipped Blu (a great one at that!) beside the closed box.

In the 2nd pic (opened) I've included 2 of the 3 famous Dragons from the show, the 3rd, Rhaegal, I'm still waiting for them to release.
