Books vs Movies !

The Deathly Hallows Book Beats The Deathly Hallows Movies .

Why ?

A waterd down battle For Hogwarts . Half the characters where missing and it was no way near as EPIC as the book .

The Davichi Code Book beats the Movie

Why it was so much better to read than watch . Sir Ian Mckellen was WASTED as Teabing he was sanitised from the book version .

 The Girl was useless so boring to watch . The redeaming features  where  the always captivating Jean Reno , Paul Bettney and Alfred Molina .

Ron Howard was the wrong choice to direct in my view too much padding not enough grit.

Kisses.

First most obvious for me is Lord of The Rings, stunning book that I've read many many times. I dreaded the films, but old Pete didn't let me down. Stunning films from what is an almost unfilmable set of books structure wise.

Girl with The Dragon Tattoo, hated the Swedish version with a passion. For me Fincher made a far superior version and no one will ever beat Mara as Salander, she nailed the part.

Let the Right One In. Liked the Swedish version but felt it was overrated. The US version streamlined the story to make it more about the relationship between the 2 leads, and for me was far more heart felt. And before anyone asks yes I did see the original first

Get Shorty. I absolutely love Elmore Leonard, and they did a terrific job with the film especially casting a then cooler than cool Travolta in the role of Palmer. Shame the sequel was dire.

Angels and Demons. Book was brilliant, film was sh*t. They removed far too much of it obviously for time constraints and it really ruined the film for me. I agree with @Scary Hair Howard was the wrong choice for Brown's film adaptations.

@psychoscot

Now I enjoyed Angels and Demons MORE than Da 'vinci Code .

Also agree on Let The Right One In .

One of the few in fact the only conversation that Hollywood did better than the original ?.

LORD Of The Rings I gave up on Chaper 4 Mushrooms . The Films where SO much more sence than the book .

The singing bits I did not get at all .

@ukade2327 @nefilim

I read the book of Blade Runner and it was Very VERY different from what I remember . It was a LONG time ago.

I did not connect with the movie as Sean Young was a fail for me casting wise . I have to grit my teeth  when she is on screen .

LOVE Rutger Hauer he should have won every award going for being Roy Batty .

Its removes a lot of the supporting characters like the pub crowd which feature quite heavily in the book and a little less so in the Swedish film version. The US places much of the story on its 2 leads and for most of the film its their bonding that takes centre stage. I won't spoil the rest as there are parts that don't feature in the book or original film, but it is definitely well worth watching. For me few remakes better or match the original but by tweaking the concept just a little Hammer made what is a slightly sweeter film thats still within the realms of horror.
