For shere engagement of readership for me it has to be 

J K Rawling .

I know its mad only the books got Darker as they went along covering some real social issues .

For me to get X 2 The Deathly Hallows on A Saturday a morning at about 11 am ., one I picked up from ASDA for £5 the other was a Amazon pre order .

One copy upstairs , one Downstairs I finished it cover to cover in 38 hrs it was the best most beautiful poetic peice of story telling I have ever read .

 

The film was such a let down after that .
