That's not really an answer. If they decided to do it that way at some earlier point, they could very easily decide to do it a different way whenever they want.

Cost is definitely a factor, but WeET already said they are planning on removing O-rings. The only issue is - when.

Presumably when they are popular enough as an independent to warrant the additional cost. Every release is a gamble until you have a core segment of collectors supporting your brand. Even then, there are sometimes misses.

I'm curious about the cost difference. From my completely ignorant, outsider perspective, it doesn't seem like there would be a big difference between O-ring and slipbox, especially factoring in that some companies (Blufans, at least) charge a little bit more for a lenticular than for a fullslip, and people seem okay with that.

 

This is all just idle curiosity--nothing at all against any company or person.
