^^ I suspect, simply because they can.

This is one of those few films that have a rabid cult following and there's lots of folks out there with pockets a lot deeper than mine! ?

I purchased the Criterion edition what, a month ago was it?

I'm more than happy with it, heh.

I've never been a fan of zombie films, personally, with two exceptions;

- Return of the Living Dead (absolutely hilarious!) and

- I Walked With A Zombie (Jacques Tourneur)

I'd like to put "White Zombie" on this list but the camp hurts it too much imho.

What I find more than passing strange however, is the fact I own so many of them! (including of course, the listed 3 in Blu).

ALL of the new films I pass over, except for one weakness...

The Resident Evil series. That however has far more to do with the fact that I could watch Mila read the phone book for 2 hours and be happy than the quality of the films...?

Boy, you guys are tough!

It will reduce further still. I think it’s a fail at its price point. Copies in the store haven’t moved. Also, it is gigantic. I don’t even know where I’d put it, but I’m sure I could work it out.

Completely agreed. I'm waiting for a lowered price point and they're still in stock online and in store so no rush really. I feel the same about the Arrow US Herschell Gordon Lewis Feast set. Very big and imo overpriced still to this day and stock is plentiful at local stores and online. Still waiting for the price to drop 😴

I think two things hurt this item (other than price) imho;

- TIMING: it's released after the majority of fans already bought the Crit, and

- the supplements though very nice (I love lobby card reproductions) they are not sufficient to warrant a double (triple?) dip.

It's too bad,  as I think FYE really did put their heart into this but blu-ray buying is a cut-throat game and FYE are not known for low prices....🙁

You can buy the Criterion for $20 during any of the 4 yearly 50% off sales, so you're still paying $63 for a box, comic and cards. The comic is the only real draw for me, but not for $60+.
