General footie thread to talk about football from any league, any country and any year. 

 

Huge Man Utd and Reading fan. Pleased Reading is guaranteed the play offs but will most likely miss the Play offs due to my Mum being in hospital. Will still cheer them on either way. 

Missed Utds Europa league match Thursday but glad to see they won 1-0 Away at Celta Vigo. Can see winning Europa League being are only chance of Champions league next year.

Caught the 2nd half of West Ham vs Spurs last night. Dont want to see West Ham get relegated but i was hoping Tottenham would win becayse i love it when its super close at the top of the table. Chelsea will most likely win the title now, whuch they definitely deserve this year. Conte has been excellent.

United vs AJax on 24th Europa League Final & now Readingvs Huddersfield/Sheffield Wednesday on 29th (Bank holiday) at Wembley.

Was told to skip hospital visiting by my Mum yesterday and go the Semi Final 2nd Leg. Was an amazing game and was sat very near to the goal so saw our goal :)

Wembley will be insane, if i manage to get a ticket.

But.

Didn't or doesn't Ajax have Finnish player(s) ? Actually pretty good one(s) ?

Yh non currently  (what i know of) but Hatori is right with Jari Litmanen. He was excellent for Ajax. 

 

2 famous finnish players i know more of are Mikael Forssell & Sami Hyypiä as both had many years in the English player league.

Saw Reading vs Huddersfield at Wembley yesterday. Stadium is incredible  but the match wasn't very impressive. I think the atmosphere was to much for most of players as neither team were there best and the match went to Penalties. Huddersfield won (Actually didn't score a score in their 3 Play Off games and won 2 Penalty Shoot outs.)

I was 50/50 as it would of been incredible going up and i dont see another year in the Championship as a negative. They finished 3rd last season (which was incredible) so if they can build on that next season with New Owners, retaining their best players as well as a few new additions - Strikers are critical with Kermorgant retiring next season - then hopefully they will gain automatic promotion.

Tuchel is one best Coaches in the world. What he did with the club of my hometown Mainz and my favorite Club Dortmund was fantastic. If i was the manager of BVB i didnt terminate his contract.

 

And his french skills after a short learning time are just..wow!

Yep, i saw that the guy is already fluent in french... it's amazing :)
