I just use my finger and gently peel it off.

 

Could get a hair dryer and gently blow hot air on it to loosen the glue. Think that's a bit over kill for this job, but I've done that to get a Hdzeta # label off the bottom of a Gladiator Gold label boxset when I got a replacement box and wanted to swap them over - worked a treat.

Don't know how easy that is to get over here in the UK @hal56mate 😂

 

I recommend Auto Glyn tar remover. It's used in the trade for cleaning tar off paintwork on motor vehicles without damaging the paint. Amazing stuff and under £10 from Halfords. I've used it on loads of steelbooks and never caused and damage/wear on paintwork.
