20 years old this year! Wow I feel old..... Loved this series growing up.

BUFFY we loved Buffy .

Shame this has not had an upgrade on Blu Ray for its 20 year anniversary .

Angel was Fantastic as well ended far too soon .

I had a soft spot for OZ .

It was so different to see Nathan Fillion as Caleb then next thing he was Mal Reynolds FireFly.

Originally it was never going to happen in terms of Bluray as the first 2 seasons were shot in 16mm which when converted for HD is still grainy and pretty bad. News broke that Netflix had bought up the rights to all 7 seasons and FOX were going to convert as best they can into HD. The results have been pretty bad, with a very poor transfer and colours being wrong on many day and night scenes. The show was also shot in 4.3 and Joss had made it clear that in order to transfer to 16.9 the top and bottom would be missing from the frame "The US dvd boxset is 16.9 and looks terrible compared to the UK 4.3 boxset. The HD transfers have been so mixed and poor theres even a Facebook page set up to discuss each episodes transfer.

 

Netflix have now stopped showing the seasons and with the re-appearance of Gellar to the public eye and Joss free from Marvel, there is talk of something "Buffy" coming back to screens. We may see a blu-ray set but its not brilliant quality in HD. Chances of a steelbook are slim unless we get something new from Joss to feed off the back of it promotion wise.

25th Anniversary of Buffy today. Perhaps the formative show for me growing up. An all time great show. Would love to see some updated physical media for it. The last thing I got for it was this box set
