EVERYTHING AUDIO

I'm off to bed but I'll leave this here.

Analogue/vinyl/tubes colour the sound. Meaning they alter the sound.

They will always alter the sound and there is no such thing as a pure master on vinyl.

Digital can be played either way.  You can play it flat(the way the recording is meant to be heard) or you can

boost/lower frequencies to get additional emphasis.

I would rather hear the music the way it was intended and be able to alter it at my liking if need be.

Can't do that with analogue.

Thing is flat is boring to most people.  Once you really get into it and give it time everything is so much cleaner sounding.

Good high end studio monitors that are used in studios for recording, playback and such that are very highly regarded would sound terrible to most people because they have no boost in 40-80hz range and the 5-10khz range.  Sometimes it's described as lifeless but it's the opposite.

Night all!

It depends on how the producer wanted you to hear it.

It's a case by case thing.

For instance a lot of Beatles music was mixed mono on purpose and then each track was mixed together in stereo but specifically placed on the left and right speaker.

So you may hear a guitar on only the left speaker and drums only on the right.  They may then get switched up during the song.

When something is remastered it's a different story.  You wouldn't remaster a Beatles album in stereo(you can) but you may remaster an older song in stereo when at the time that song wasn't available as mono recordings.

SACD/Bluray Audio are generally remasters.  But there are some good and some are really bad.  LOL

SACD/Bluray just carry multi speaker output so you can play them as 5.1/3.1 etc.  They can also be used as just a stereo setup for the purists.
