Will design #3 always expose the wood grain or can it have full paint finishes? The wood grain works very well for Forrest Gump but how about other releases? I like them either way, just curious.

What's next an ultra-premium titanium slip case with black diamond coating (DLC)? ?

 

Oh, one thing. Design #3 will benefit from a silk 'pull tab' (don't know what they are actually called) to help ease out the scanavo and the printed material.

Wood eh.  Hmm.  

Downfalls if it's real wood.  

Humidity changes from where it's made to where it ends up could cause severe cracking in the panels. 

Do not drop these by accident.  I'm afraid how many pieces there would be if you do. 

Wood moves with the temperature and humidity so they can't be made too tight or when they contract it could cause problems.

UC has just gotten the rights. Woot.

I'm little bummed out on this news, I really wanted to collect UHD full UC series but I cant see myself investing in certain Marvel titles as I don't love their movies as much to see me investing in them unless we get The Incredible Hulk release( I adore this movie) but oh well, excited for the rest of you guys and love the wooden box for Forrest Gump hopefully it gets approved.

That is of course assuming that WB will give us the Exorcist in UHD. This December marks the 45th Anniversary but that may mean nothing.

UC experimented with wood grain design and encountered a few issues.  

The grains distorted the artwork and caused some parts to be blurry. Also, the overall look feels cheapened.

Hence, a coating has been applied to enhance the image and raise the premium feel of the product!
